As a ga tech fan, I have to disagree. I understand the hype around getting haynes king and jamal haynes back for another year, but the d line has some serious questions. The biggest flaw of our defense last year was pass rush, and we are losing our top 2 guys in that unit. I think we are a border-line ranked team, but not #11 nationally

Dude. Please message me so we can make a wager. Penn State will surely disappoint again. Franklin could have a 1985 Buddy Ryan as DC and it doesn’t make up for the Dud James Franklin is. He couldn’t even beat ND when it mattered. And Drew Allar is a total bum.

Ohio States offensive line is going to be very very good next season. Better than TX to be sure. That one is going to come down to which brand new starting QB plays better. I give the nod to Arch over Sayin.

I want to immediately say this is a terrible list because Penn st was never bad on defense, just have 0 receivers. You always have a blind spot for Michigan and I don’t trust inexperienced QBs in this era. Notre dame also absolutely has more question marks than OSU. So actually yeah this list is kind of bonkers to say the least

Id say Michigan's offensive system takes a lottt of pressure off a green QB getting his feet wet. I think michigan is a sleeping giant next year to be honest

Michigan should go into the Ohio State game undefeated hosting an undefeated OSU team. And in the BIG not certain who has the toughest road Rutgers or Wisconsin. Ouch. Then how did Michigan dodge Penn State once again. Have to disagree about Indiana. Illinois, Iowa, Oregon, Wisconsin, Penn St. Just don't see the Hoosiers being there in 2025.

I did like the Cignetti/Freeman pick. I think my choice would have probably been Kenny Dillingham, though. Arizona State won only 3 or 4 games in 2023. The 2024 squad won the Big 12 and gave Texas all that they could handle in the CFP.

Kotelnicki likes to shoot himself in the foot sometimes. He is much like James Franklin in that respect. I don't think that Kotelnicki would have been my pick. I would probably put him as a preseason winner for next year's OC reward, though.

Should we really put sc under Clemson? Besides losing an edge rusher, safety, and rocket I don’t think Clemson has an upper hand over them. Now if we’re talking about who makes playoffs then it’s probably Clemson because the ACC sucks but total rankings seems odd.

Riley Lenard is gone to the NFL. even if he doesnt get drafted i dont think he has elgibility in college. CJ Carr is are hot shot red shirt freshman. and Angeli will probably stick around to compete for the job.

Sam it takes 3 years to implement Knowles system. PSU plays Oregon and OSU next year, and Franklin is still their coach. PSU is not winning a Natty IMO

I respect that opinion. Knowles system is complex, but I also want to say that this is the best situation he has walked into in his career. He took over defenses outside of the Top 50 with OKST and OSU, but he is taking over a Top 10 unit in PSU that might have Top 5 defensive talent.

This is a nothing burger. Coaches come and go all the time. Ryan Day knows how to find talent and he will do so again. The Bucks will be fine. Maybe KZbin won't delete this one.

Coming from a Die Hard Georgia Tech fan I personally think 11 is too high. I think that we could be ranked but I just think 11 is kind of pushing it but I mean I can't hate the hype! 😂

This move makes no sense except for one way. It doesn’t make sense for Penn State either. If you remember, the Ohio State defense in 2021 was…. ass. Knowles did a very good overall job of fixing a bunch of problems. Each year was better than the previous. One constant though was giving up a lot in big games. The one point loss at Oregon with no sacks of Gabriel comes to mind. And in the rematch they sacked him eight times and shut him down. In fact the defense changed after that game to rotating more defensive lineman among other issues. I think this is a big middle finger to Ryan Day and Ohio State. Because he didn’t like what went on behind the scenes. That’s just my guess from outside the fishbowl. Because Penn State didn’t have a defensive problem. In the last 10 years every one of our games is tight and low scoring and a pain in the ass.

Man, you have WAAAAAAYYYY too much faith in ND and PSU. Maybe PSU should try being better than the 3-4th best team in the Big 10 first? Cool... They got Knowles... Penn State already has a good defense. Is he gonna fix the offense too? ND is losing most of its trenches and RB.

ND was already missing 3 of their starting D linemen after Indiana, so the D line won’t drop off to much and would have time to improve. They got transfers in at DT and the DEs that were injured since week 3 will return. O line will be a massive strength of ND next year and will have lots of depth. They will not struggle in the trenches unless injury hits them hard again next year. As for running back I don’t know what you are saying or where you heard that. Love and Price return and Williams had production as a freshman.

Hold up Sam remember after the Oregon game things had to be changed right Ryan pacifically put his hands on the defense too assist Knowles a and tweak the defense Knowles left because he wanted too run the defense and Ryan they said no plus him and Larry Johnson wasn’t seeing eye too eye on technique and philosophy that’s the truth

I might agree with you just because psu hasn't done it since '16. But its hard to deny that osu has a lot of question marks since they don't return very many starters. Meanwhile psu returns almost all of their starters. Coordinators sometimes take a couple of years to reach their stride. Psu will have a second year of kotelnicki with allar, singleton, and allen (not to mention 4 of their 5 starters on oline). I think psu's (maybe country's best run game) can cut up an entirely new defensive front from osu. I really dont think you can be so sure about this

And don't forget, allar, reynolds, nucci, shelton, birchmeier, jven williams, cousins, singleton and allen were all former high four star and five star recruits. So I'd say the talent is maybe equal if not better than osu's defensive front

I personally don't think they do. If belichick spends more than a couple years there I expect them to eventually become relevant on the national stage, but in year 1 I don't think they have enough talent to be a top 3 ACC team, let alone a title contender. Going from where they are to a title contender takes more than 1 recruiting class. They're pretty far off right now.

How is this a massive upgrade? PSU’s defense has been legit for years. Knowles as to introduce a complex scheme, which might take a couple years to be effective. More importantly, the guys running his defense were in the system for three years and we're seniors. That is far from the case at PSU. There's an argument that this would be little increase in a Netty or bust year for PSU.
