To be honest before we as a species should focus on interstellar travel we should just get any working space program. The best we have right now is the international space station I think, and a few rovers in various places. We should already be living on Mars and Venus and learning from those how to adjust earth to be habitable forever. Once we get to that point sure let's fire up the star drives or star gates even! It's just a shame that after the Apollo missions space development stalled because honestly if we built just a few things like the space slingshots it would be the beginning to a lot more space developments in essence being the equivalent of Rome paving the first roads.

So, in theory, the highest possible cactus in Minecraft would be a 120 block tall cactus located on the corner between 4 chunks, assuming that every single cactus in the chunk by sheer coincidence generates on the same block.
@francenkovcan52118 ай бұрын
technically a 40 tall cactus is possible, since at an intersection of 4 chunks all of them can have conditions that would make all 10 of their cactus blocks to spawn in the exact same block, it is basically as likely as all energy in the universe accidentally funneling into a single point in space

if someone does invent 4 chunk finding that would increase the record significantly. 8:00 for those that wants to know more the "seed" in this case, is the seed of java's Random Number Generator. Minecraft Java edition is... made in Java. and Java's RNG is actually a pseudo RNG, so it's not truly random, you can get back the same "random" numbers by setting the seed of the RNG, just like how you can get back the same world by setting the world seed. I don't know much about seed cracking since I only do plugins which is net Minecraft server, and not mods or whatever, which would be net Minecraft world

So, ignoring the trivialities of such as the seed existing, what is the hypothetical highest cactus that could ever generate? Can failures to generate cause cacti generation to navigate multiple chunks? Are there any structures that include cacti to potentially stack standard cacti generation on? Has cacti generation changed at all in different versions in a way that would make different heights possible? What about any April Fools update things like Snapshot Infinity?
@HellCastleYT8 ай бұрын
its like theoretically possible that all 8 surrounding chunks could generate every cactus in the center of the 9th center chunk that the center chunk also generates to be really big and from a sand block at the bottom of a ravine at y=1 and create a sky limit cactus but the chances of that existing are so close to 0

4:12 this gave me a blast of nostalgia. I used to talk to all of them, I wonder where they are now. My old accounts have kinda been lost and yeah, wow. I remember everyone on that screen. the Cactus person gave a lot of computing power cuz they had access to some serious Nvidia GPU clusters or something haha. I remember well

Minecraft is probably the best at being a game which, somehow, functions even though almost every part of it's programming is functionally limitless. Cacti have a range they're SUPPOSED to spawn, sure, but if the code dictates that it CAN spawn over that then the real sandbox becomes "but how much tho?"

what if there was a cactus that was made from the corner of 4 chunks instead of the edge of 2? 22:10 never mind…

Back in the 60's, computing advances were driven by the desire to reach the moon. Nowadays, computing advances are apparently being driven by the desire to find the tallest cactus in a videogame. We have come far as a species.

imagine if before all this happened, someone just created a survival world with a 100 block tall cactus, making this redundant CMON GET TO 69 LIKES
@@udontseemeiseeuuseemeiseeu they're saying it would be funny if they went through all this effort to create the supercomputer and then record was found by a random person on a random world.

nah im pretty sure 40 is the max, 10 cactusbloks per chunk, times 4 chuncks, since ten is the limit for a chunk

if you could get it to spawn in the corner of four chucks would a 50+ cacti be possible

If it was on a corner of 4 chunks could a ~50 block cactus theoretically be possible?
@cmposting8 ай бұрын
yep, the only limitation to finding it is that it becomes exponentially harder to find it, two times over for the 2 new chunks

This brings me back to the time where I spawned in a world for my freinds and me to play and my freind and me found a 6 block tall cactus, we made a whole shrine around it until someone accidentally placed a block too close to it ;(

Feels weird seeing the fascination of tall cacti. I saw this because I had this too back in one of my first Minecraft worlds, just kept stacking cacti till it was extremely tall. We’re really all humans
