I am also a man and Vin is among my 10 favorite characters in fiction. Something that makes me appreciate this character is that, despite his role as a assasin and his turbulent past, those things did not stop Vin from being a super compassionate person towards others, regardless of their social status or even race. Which allowed Vin to feel empathy not only with the skaa, but also with other characters like Tensoon, with the nobles and even the same band of thieves who mistreated her when they were murdered by the inquisitors. In short, her compassion is super admirable. 😊😊😊

YES that is so true!! That’s something that Kelsier lacks, don’t you agree? And she manages to be compassionate yet realistic when it comes to violence. She is such a nuanced character, definitely one of my top 10 as well! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊

I am male and Vin is one of my favorite characters in fiction. ❤❤❤ And I don't care if there isn't much female presence in Mitsborn Era 1. Movies like Terminator 1 and 2, the animated Mulan and Alien/Aliens have little female presence (even less than Mitsborn Era 1) and yet they are excellent and their female characters are very good.
