महान गायक मोहम्मद रफी एक जमाने में बॉलीवुड के सबसे लोकप्रिय और सबसे महंगे गायक थे और निर्माता-निर्देशक उनसे गाना गवाने के लिए मुंह मांगी कीमत देने को तैयार रहते थे। वो बैकग्राउंड सिंगिंग का मौका देने के लिए संगीतकार नौशाद अली साहब के बहुत शुक्रगुजार थे। उन्होंने एक मुलाकात में नौशाद साहब को एक रुपए का सिक्का फोटो फ्रेम कराके दिया था, जिसके बाद नौशाद साहब भावुक हो गए और उन्हें रफी साहब को गले लगा लिया।
