3:35 That's why getting a vacuum cleaner and air purifier that has a sealed HEPA filtration system is essential, especially if you have allergies or asthma; HEPA filters can capture the Cladosporium mold spores that float around in the air, so that way you'll have less allergic or asthmatic reactions to the air in your home.
@BioTheHuman Жыл бұрын
And how can these filters vacuum all the bad molds in the air? From a physical/chemical pov it doesn't make much sense
@RyanSellman1 Жыл бұрын
@@BioTheHuman It can capture 99.97% of all allergens passing through it, down to 0.3 microns. I'd say mold spores wouldn't get past it.
@BioTheHuman Жыл бұрын
@@RyanSellman1 I can see how it filters, but I don't see how it can filters *all the air* . As said from the video, the air is full of mold. How could you filter something omnipresent in the air? It's like trying to sweep the leaves during autumn on a windy day.
@RyanSellman1 Жыл бұрын
@@BioTheHuman HEPA filtration is best suited for indoor environments. It helps control indoor air pollution. When you open a door or a window, outdoor air comes in, along with pollutants that are in the outdoor air. A home is like a sealed box, so allergens get trapped inside the home and just linger in the air, settle on hard surfaces, and get deep into carpets and rugs. That's why I recommend both a vacuum cleaner and air purifier that has sealed HEPA filtration; they can reduce the amount of allergens in your home, so that way the air in your home and the various hard and soft surfaces in your home are cleaner.

Title: "Why Mold Is So Hard To Kill" Video: *General description of what mold is, with a little fear-mongering sprinkled in* Your title is inadequate.
@joshuamenard88745 жыл бұрын
He explains that by the time we notice mold on food, it has already penetrated into it, though we cannot perceive it. Furthermore, the spores are airborne, and though we may think we've rid a space or substance of it, it can still be in the air or in places we simply do not perceive. This could have sufficed to answer the title's question, but it would make for a short video. He provides us a general explanation of mold in addition for our information alone, a pleasant plus. Also, there is no fear-mongering. You fear the dangerous spores affecting your health. However, he clearly explains that in typical places, they are in too little quantity to truly affect you. Finish the video. Watch attentively.

"You could say there are two types of mold: the good and the bad..." I am not saying you're wrong, but you can say that to most things: people, food, medicine, animals and others. Again, not saying you're wrong.

A septic pipe bursted in old house after a blockage. Apparently it had leaked into my closet, but I didn’t find out until I was cleaning out my closet to pack in boxes. I had a little corner on the floor where I put my stuffed animals. And at some point the leak happened. I found them to pack them up at realized almost all if them were wet and smelly. I noticed the wall looked kinda funny so I pinged my phone flashlight at it. There was black on the wall. I had to throw away a list of of my stuffed animals. That house always had some sort of problem with the water. The toilets were always clogging, I had a couple leaks from my bathroom ceiling, there were wet (probably moldy) spots on the in the corners of the house, etc. it was disgusting. But the landlord wouldn’t send out professionals, they sent out their brother in law and his really old dad. (Who left blood on my sisters bathroom counter) It was horrible, and we are hoping that they fixed it before they let someone rent it again, but it’s not likely they did that. :/ [Unrelated but the carpet was horrible. It looked like someone bought twine from the store, put it on the floor, and called it carpet. And there was also a spider problem.]

The effort to purge molds and other allergens from our environment is actually contributing to the allergy problems of the young. A child's immune system needs to learn as a child what to ignore. If not exposed at a young age to these common environmental allergens then...when exposed later on you get major allergic reactions.

Bleach won't kill mold. It's why you can't get rid of a black mold infestation by just spritzing bleach on the walls.

@@NoJusticeNoPeace How do you kill the black mold then?
@NoJusticeNoPeace5 жыл бұрын
+Marta Leszkiewicz It's not that mold is magically immune to bleach, but that the spraying bleach only kills the surface fruiting bodies of the mold. The roots down below the surface are unaffected, as are the billions of spores floating around waiting to land and recolonize surfaces. To eliminate the black mold, you need a combination of chemicals and substances which will kill the surface mold, soak down and kill the roots, and leave behind a film which will kill new colonies.

My brain is weird, i can deal with blood, mine or someone else's, with a very level head, no panic or nausea. It made biology classes anatomy units very easy to navigate.... mold, however... will either make me gag on sight, pending it's location or pending it's species, inspire a very minor form of panic attack and subsequent location cleanse. I don't funk with mold, I see it, it goes.

Why mold only attacks dead stuff? Like why mold isn't eating us alive, or like why it does not eat fruits that are still attached to the plant?

LOL, okay, but that just depends on the culture. China eats them as a veggie and a fruit, like cherry/grape tomatoes, just bigger. Added, tomatoes that are sped up to ripe does not taste good, which is everywhere nowadays, sad.
