I am a millennial married for 9 years now, and my own wedding and all weddings in the friends group, cash was always the standard gift. However, for wedding and baby showers, i have found people have been specifically asking for money now vs a gift via a registery.

@@Sam19509 I believe the general custom is to pay for event meal/entertainment and then add additional based on how close you are to the couple and your personal availability to give at that time.

Lol my ex and I paid our own wedding. Then threw BBQ long weekend and paid. I did a WISHING WELL. i.e. $$$ we got one card no money and someone took out leftover corn!!! 😬🤙🤦‍♀️😂😆😂😆😂🤣😅🤪🤪🤪 1993
