But if they back door then they can’t keep there accountings straight somewhere someone is fudging the numbers, meaning that it is bad for business. It would make more sense to force a bundle purchase that is not returnable or sell much higher then MSRP, that’s what I think.

Economically sound. “Gouging” on price is almost always a factor of retail prices not reflecting an appropriate price based on supply and demand. If Travis Scott’s we’re priced closer to resale value to begin with, reselling drops dramatically. Resellers basically capture the price differential.

What's funny is that if Nike just had a finger on the pulse of those into sneakers they wouldnt make so many trash products that they would have to resort to getting rid of. What always strikes me is how cheap it is for Nike and replica makers to make the shoes, and for Nike to make the brick stuff they force onto retailers. If the limited supply they generate was a problem for Nike they'd raise prices to at least approach resell prices. But they don't. Rep makers don't either despite 100% knowing what reseller prices are. To me that suggests it doesn't cost them anywhere near the MSRP to make the shoe, thus their profit is enormous. Of course they do this mainly by paying labor absolute shit wages. And that's the real problem with all of this, that the Phil Knights pocket way outsized proportions of that profit. And I'm not sure what the solution is aside from lobbying for greater support for unions so that labor has more power within the companies and force the executives to focus less on doing things like unloading brick products with no demand onto the market purely to make profit off the cheap labor used to produce it and focus more on actually meeting demand in order to make profit.

It makes you a multi billion dollar clothing line pushing your 40 dollar t shirts on distribution deals that leverage the hype jordans.
