In this video we're talking about a possible reason for why you're never happy as a creator. Whether you're a filmmaker, photographer, editor, designer or anything else, I believe we've all run into this issue at one point or another. It all has to do with setting the bar too high for ourselves.

This is a great talk. It’s so easy to get caught up in creating the “perfect project” that you don’t even start it.

Yeah, you work on the perfect project for so long but only you know it's "perfect" because no one else gets to even see it 😂

This one really resonates with me. I have pretty bad imposter syndrome and any time it’s not up to my high standards I feel very defeated. And it’s usually for reasons that are out of my own control

Yeah, that sounds all too familiar. I think it's something all creators go through at one point or another so you're definitely not alone in that. I think being aware that it's happening goes a long way in being able to control it instead of letting that feeling control you instead 😁

I am a details person, so no problem learning and appreciating subtleties. So, as I learn video editing for the first time, I have to really be disciplined to learn a few basics and push out a short, straightforward vid to instagram before I get caught up in subtlety heaven😅 So, thanks George, for the reality check😊

Yeah, being able to notice and focus on the small details of a project can be a very useful skill but if you take it too far it just ends up stopping you from actually getting work done. It's a delicate balance for sure 😁
