I happened across this video randomly and started watching and realized I needed this motivational talk. I'm not a career musician but I do love playing guitar. So for me the points of data in my life need some fine tuning for sure. Anyhow happy new year and may God be with us.

I've been following a program recently where I pre-make a bunch of short form content (SFV) before releasing my music, and when its Release Day I just post the SFVs one a day. Before the program, I always wondered if its so simple and straightforward, why doesn't everyone do it? And then I did it myself and I realized why not everyone does it, and its because it requires a mindset of extreme self-belief and courage to fail to really follow through with making a bunch of content to promote your song, because everytime I made a short video I would be self-loathing, asking myself what makes me think that I am gonna succeed at all with ALL this effort. And I have to keep reminding myself that if I am willing to do what most people don't, then I can see a success that most people don't. Thanks for your videos Dax. It really helps to build my mindset, which I knew was an important part of the winning formula, but didn't realize how important it was until as of late.

You should never have a reason to be afraid to fail cause there is no reason to ever give up if you're actually passionate about it. Ypull be willing to legit die for it. And that comes with dependingnon music in very hard times in your life to the point you have no other option. Watch that voice dissappear. It's amazing. Ypu also gotta lppk at every single challenge to get up. A way to prove your passion to yourself and build off every little time you pass the test. And learn from everytime you don't

HEY!!! Good job with this. I get all ur points especially with the posting content and hardly getting views and deleting it. I have done that...but I'm more past that. And the collection of data thing is complete genius BUT.... It's best to try to NOT fail. Of course we learn and adapt but in the content world and music world where it's all too easily disposed of and consumed and there's many many others. YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO FAIL. In today's time with other creators and artists...you fail...your screwed. Everyone will know you failed and move to the next creator and artists. Actually I think your ideas are wonderful and inspiring but I think you are a smidge outdated too. What I explained to you is why most people will never post anything.
@MusiciansIgnite16 күн бұрын
Thanks! I agree that it’s not that you go out and “intend” to fail but go out to do your best to succeed and become “immune” to the failure, if that makes sense.
@joedaugherty190816 күн бұрын
I totally get that. This is just my mobile channel and I never started my own channel when I play and record every instrument on my own it makes it harder because I think my songs sound good and so do friends. It would have been way easier to do it back in like 2010 or even 2015. Since COVID there is a HUGE influx of artist and creators and creators and artists make so much stuff that if you fail it's going to buried in the content. Everyone makes their content like they are indestructible and never fail even though they have. Most people don't show it. So I don't wanna post or anything until I feel like it's time but it feels like never. The content creation is getting worse and easier for anyone so people that are passionate about music and creating in that field are at the bottom much anymore.

most musicians will fail no matter what year it is. the amount of time it takes to get proficient enough to make a living as a musician is multiple years, sometimes decades. and once you get to that point you have to figure out how you will convert your skills into money, and thats easier said than done. there are many ways you can make money as a musician and maybe ten percent of all working musicians will find great success, so its not a very lavish lifestyle for the other 90 percent of us. if its something you want to persue then expect to live by the skin of your teeth and eat alot of ramen noodles, and if you stick to it, no matter how many times you fail, you are more likely to make a modest living than striking gold and becoming a millionare
