I use to live in Chicago but moved away for a job in Washington DC in 2011. I really miss Chicago, though!

This is indeed very heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and very adorable and very helpful and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).

Great video. Wonder how the area will be transformed by the eventual 78 complex.

Thank you for the compliment. I love this neighborhood. The South Loop has two mega developments that are going to flank it - the 78 and the one near McCormick place in Bronzeville. I think both of these will have positive impacts on the South Loop actually. It will add more to the fringe which will expand what the area has to offer.

I'm really attracted to the SL area, but as you mentioned, there just isn't much there other than housing, meaning it isn't very walkable. I like quiet, but also don't want to have to transit or drive everywhere. With as many residential units as there are, it seems like there would be more "stuff."

True! I think there are some amazing sub areas though. Look at Printers Row or the Prairie District if you want to be around more things. The north side of the area will be a little more vibrant. However, don't discount the area. There are a lot of gems around!
