Thanks Dave. Have actually never heard anyone complaining about the TV and Movie tie-ins. And I was very pleased to grab a copy of the Inspector Morse Jaguar for a non car-racing friend. She was very happy with to too. If the tie-ins are helping Scalextric/Hornby survive, there's no harm in that either.

Dave enjoy your time with your family and slot cars are going to keep running. It's a great idea to do that mustang , someone could always paint it if they like. Every now and then we do need just a plain car. I like it and I'm sure a lot of people do as well. Be safe and we will see you back on this side of town.

19 race liveries for the Mustang boss 302 plus a Calypso Coral , Grabber Blue , and Competition Yellow street versions plus several exclusive variants. I have no problem with movie cars or street cars , not sure if I'll be getting the Wick car , the color looks wrong to me , but I will definitely be getting the James Bond AMC Hornet when it comes out .

Loved that Chaparral museum short! Nice. Nothing wrong with movie cars. They are all a part of what we love about cars

🍻cheers! I’m having a hard time understanding who would complain about a badass street Mustang, movie or not. Not a fan of liveries. Good work👍🏻SCFL!

I agree 100 percent. Not all molds need to be racing liveries.

Scalextric has made so many different cars over the years that doing something "new" is getting harder and harder to find , I will say I was very disappointed when they decided to do only the generic versions of the mid 80's NASCAR cars , I would have gladly paid the extra for the proper licensing to make the cars accurate .

It's all about marketing. You may not want to buy this model but here's the point: Every dollar the company makes off the sale of a specialty car is a dollar they can spend on releasing a model that you may be looking for. That is all thr moreso for the rebranding of a model whose molds are already available. Pay the royalty, publish the new packaging, advertise the product (and increase the slot-car market), and rake in the dollars. EVERYBODY WINS!

"Yes" to these. Movie cars are so much fun to race against each other. Where else can John Wick take on Marty McFly, James Bond, Max's Interceptor, and Kowalski's Challenger?

They make them because they can sell them. If they didn't sell, they wouldn't make them. The main market isn't serious slot car racers (you can probably make the argument that most of what Scalextric makes isn't primarily marketed to serious slot car racers in general). Movie cars attract kids and collectors rather than serious slot car people, but obviously there is overlap, and maybe they become slot car racers.

Movie cars are great!! Love to see someone come up with a Dirty Mary Crazy Larry Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Belair.
