Why Movie Percy and Annabeth Suck

annabeth's character was butchered in the movies, in the first one, she has been combined with clarisse, but she keeps spitting that she is the daughter of wisdom but she doesn't do anything smart that shows that, she keeps saying "im the daughter of athena, goddess of wisdom, remember". and of course, let's not forget in the second one where she is basically a damsel in distress. oh and don't get me started on percy, oh boy. percy became too cool in the first one, can control water from the go, no training, no building experiences, nothing, i mean it looks good but i prefer watching him grow with his powers so when he's older it feels earned. and of course in sea of monsters, percy is pleading for poseidon to talk to him and is jealous of clarisse beacuse she wins everything and he's a loser, well, percy is not like that, he's okay being a loser as long as his friends are okay. like he goes on the mission solely to save his best friend grover.
