I loved Paris so much. I'm working on my French because I want to come back and see more. I'm obsessed. It was tye most beautiful place I've ever been and to stand in the presence of where so much history happened was overwhelming.

Many women long for Italy (Tuscany). I have been there 4 times and love it. What made you decide on Paris? And please speak also of why not Nice? or other cities in France? I enjoyed your authenticity in this video.
@celine.concierge
@celine.concierge 9 күн бұрын
What made me decide on Paris was really on my first trip to Europe. I had the most romantic 8 days in Paris back in 2011. I also felt very much at home in Paris, despite not speaking the language, so it sparked my curiosity and I wanted to go back there but not only to visit but to live, so that's what I did a couple of years later after I graduated from university. I had visited other cities in France during my travels, but there was something about Paris that really attracted me, it's more like a feeling than anything else! I think if you're considering moving to France, try to explore the places that you're interested in to make that decision for yourself. I've had friends fall in love with Nice or Lyon and want to move there instead of Paris, so it's a very subjective decision.

Celine, so appreciate your channel and this video is very helpful. I have been working on getting certain things in place to eventually (in 2-3 years) move to Paris. I have traveled a lot when in my 20's and lived in several differnt countries. It doesn't matter which country a person moves to, there are the same "variations on the theme" issues to assimilating and getting one's self comfortable with the day to day life. Language is the chief issue, it's a non-negotiable. So many people think they can just move and learn when they arrive, maybe so but I don't recommend this. I look forward to seeing more of your videos as you continue creating them. I have you in my list of services to contact when I am closer to my goals - it's going to be a couple of years but it's my entire rest of my life plan. On another note, I absolutely love your bag and would love to know if it is available anywhere, it's gorgeous!

Bonjour Katie, wow! It's exciting to hear of others wanting to move abroad. I hope my story is inspiring and I look forward to hearing more about your journey as you get closer to those goals. For the bag, if you are talking about my purse, I purchased it from Isabelle Bernard. If you are talking about my Paris tote, you can find it on my website and we have a 50% off Black Friday sale going on for the next few days! www.celineconcierge.com/shop/

Oh not another Paris video with sappy organ music in the background…. (lol. I see it’s only in the intro) I love Paris (I live in Houston!) but I’ve invested in a small cute pied a terre in rural France on the train… about 3hours from Paris. I love watching your videos! I speak French fairly well having studied in the Paris university system 😊 and I admire your personal story and adaptability!

Hello! It's a little hommage to France and it's clichés. 😉 Our editor who does a great job on these videos chose this and we liked it for the intro! Thanks for your feedback and your support of the channel. Living outside of Paris can also be a wonderful experience, I have friends who have an apartment in Burgundy and absolutely love it.

Hello, it depends for what. I think the general costs of living are elevated, however, I don't think that they are as expensive as other big cities like NYC and London. Paris offers many cheap or affordable dining (with some research) and I would say that the rent is not as expensive in other big cities. The last think I will say about food is that it tends to be better quality than in the US so you can eat healthier fresh food. Not to mention that wine in France is very reputable and very affordable.
@puccaland
@puccaland 9 күн бұрын
@celine.concierge The general cost of living is high and so are the salaries. At the end of the day prices are nowhere near reaching the prices in similar cities internationally, and the Parisians are those with the highest purchasing power in France while being in the most expensive city in France. Consumer prices for goods and services are kind of homogeneous nationwide in France. The lifestyle is different so for instance there will be more small supermarkets or convenience store like in Paris which apply more expensive prices but for the general groceries people can go to the bigger ones, open markets etc. It's good that you talked about the quality, people often forget that parameter. Restaurants are out there for every budget and the locals know where to go to eat for cheap with quality. Rents are capped, nobody can rent in Paris if he doesn't show that he earns minimum 3 times the rent and to be considered rich in Paris one needs to earn only 5700 euro per month. Paris that's 25% working classes, 50% middle classes and 25% upper classes. And that's for Paris proper only, not counting the Greater Paris which we usually use to compare internationally and not counting the wealth redistribution and all the social benefits. Paris that's also for instance 25% social housing, by law the big companies also have to provide cheap housing for their employees. So for instance my friend who works at the FNAC has been living for more than a decade in a fully reburbished studio apartment not far from where you took the video paying 220 euro per month. Same for the civil servants. So that's for instance my uncle's family renting a 4 bedroom apartment in Paris 13 for 650 euro per month. The rent regulated apartments are everywhere. For instance at La Motte Piquet near the Eiffel Tower in Paris 15, it's a town where many military people and their family live with cheap rents. The cheap rents managed by the city hall (which has to provide 25% social housing) that's the same rents everywhere even in the most expensive neighbourhoods. 4 euro per sqm for the working class households, 6~12 euro per sqm for the middle class household depending on their personal situation. That's why the population is mixed and you don't have only rich people living in the expensive towns and only poor people parked in the poorest towns. That's the same at the Greater Paris level.

What’s a good site to learn French. I’ve been hearing really bad things about Paris lately. So much homelessness, over run by immigrants , tons of empty boarded up stores, broken glass doors so much graffiti..scams and hustles…I know people who love Paris and will never go back…sad

Hello, for French lessons, we recommend reaching out to www.frenchisbeautiful.com/ They have private lessons and courses that you can do to learn depending on your preference. Regarding Paris, have you ever been yourself? I am curious what you thought of it? I'm sorry to hear of the negative things you've heard about Paris. Unfortunately, some parts are more run down and we have issues as any big city in the world such as homelessness and scams... However, Paris has a lot to offer and it remains a beautiful city to visit with lots to do and many people keep coming back time and time again.
