The Immigration Act of 1990, regarding non-immigration visas to the United States states that there is presumption that all applicants for non-immigrant visas such as the B1/B2 intend to immigrate to the US. Therefore, the applicant must demonstrate something called “a compelling interest to return” to one’s country. There isn’t one single thing that demonstrates this. They do, however consider your ties to your home country and responsibilities there. When you go for the interview the immigration officer at the embassy already can see everything you write in the DS 160 application form which you completed online. The questions they ask are mainly to confirm your story and get a sense of whether are any discrepancies. They don’t have a lot of time to do this because they probably see 50 applicants or more each day so they have to make up their minds rather quickly based on your DS 169 and what you say. After watching a couple of your videos and you description of you experience in Berlin, I am wondering if the really problem could have been that you volunteered too much information and took up the officer’s time by trying to convince him to give you the visa. The cardinal rule is to be positive and friendly but not say anything more than what the officer is asking for. Also, since the. USA officer has your passport and can see your current status in Germany and when the German visa expires he might easily presume that you might overstay your visa and try to remain in the US simply because you did not demonstrate a “compelling interest to return” to your country (or Germany). If you had proof of your job in Germany and the visa to back that up, he MIGHT have given you the visa. Whether you applied in Munich or Berlin is of no consequence. There are many good videos on KZbin explaining the B1/B2 application process. I recommend the GrayLaw TV videos myself. The real bummer here is that you had to forfeit your $160 application fee and now it has gone up! I am sure you can eventually get a visa to the US if you do your homework and prepare properly. In the mean time, the US Diversity Visa application are being accepted until November 4th , 2025. This for the visa lottery. Go for it! If you don’t play, you can’t win. You are probably eligible if you aren’t a Nigerian, South African or Egyptian. It is free to apply! There are also plenty of KZbin videos about the DV as well. Good luck! 😀

Boss based on my experience the easy way to get us visa from other country other than your country of origin is being a uni student.the first red flag was applying for a conference n eventually the date was past.all other stuffs you’re embarking is irrelevant to be denied

Good video David, but I do not think you taking your phone there had any reason to you being rejected. As you mentioned they have this partnership with the coffee shop next door so all good on that end. It think it's more on the residence permit. Ideally go there with 2 or more years left on your reisdence permit.
