Absolutely love love this drama and couple!!! Ive not seen any couple who can evoke such emotions on screen and made me so obsessed with them 😂 beautifully shot, great fight scenes and the 2 leads really stand out! Ahn Eunjin truly held her own against someone veteran like NGM, don’t think his past female co-stars were up to par with him. Such a fan of Jangchae, what happens when this drama ends 😢

This drama is that absolute mix for me you know❤ As someone who watches almost only period dramas (be it Korean, Chinese, Japanese or European American) and picky abt the quality of the PLOT and requires politics, history, good conspiracies and schemes and some good display of swordmanship (if the plot requires it ) AND ROMANCE with MELODRAMA, all with authentic sets, be it costumes, lightening or even flowers, this drama is it. It's so hard to find a drama that ticks all my boxes 😂 but I found My Dearest ❤ Anyone reading my comment please recommend me some period dramas that wld tick my boxes thank u

I highly recommend 'Jumong" which is about the founding of Goguryeo (Korea). I feel blessed that when I started Korean dramas 12 years ago, Jumong was the first one I got to see. It made me understand Korean culture through my observation from its origin by the legendary founder, Jumong. This sageuk also swept the drama awards during that time.

LOVE this drama !!! It is really a masterpiece! I never watch period or historical dramas , Korean or otherwise, but I gave an exception because of Namkoong Min. He never disappoints so of course his acting is top notch as expected in this drama but I also really enjoy all other aspects of it including the historical context behind the story. as well as the rest of the cast. Thank you for your review and I will look forward to more of them for the rest of Part 2 (it would be great if you would do part 1 too!)

I want to add the fact that the writers did an extraordinary job in portraying the emotions, I read somewhere it took nearly 5 years to conplete the whole script, some lines said by Jang Hyun/Gil Chae are literally embedded in my brain and I can never forget those !

I love this drama and so fascinated by all the characters and their efforts to deliver best... I'm particularly like how women stand alone fighting against barbarians and what sacrifices they do and some scenes are very sensitive. This also bring memories of Mr.Sunshine...

Thank for this. As I was watching My Dearest I was reminded of Gone With the Wind, but My Dearest is so much better as a drama. I enjoy most historical dramas that show the impact of real history on the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

I've been giving this show a bit of thought. Am I the only person to wonder why the two just never seemed to tell each other the truth about their feelings? It rings so true, fear of hurt pride, fear of rejection, fear of admitting a weakness for the other, dependency on the other, etc, etc. Every excuse you could name for not just saying "I love you. I need you. I don't want to live my life without you." So much heartbreak could have been avoided, had one of them been able to just say it. But no, and to me, it really does ring true. Humanity can be so very foolish, sometimes. Am I wrong thinking this just might have been a theme of the writers/producers? Maybe just unintentional....btw, transliteration again...I hear Chjoseon, ch followed by jo...;-)

Apparently that Gone With the Wind comparison has been made by those who have NOT compared the plot lines nor the characters. Or maybe from this video here. Have you read even the plot outline of GWTW? Just asking. The characters of GWTW are mostly horrible people. I doubt even Min Namkoong could make Rhett Butler into an admirable human being like Lord Lee. As for Scarlet---what a hideous person from start to finish. All she has are her looks. She'd never rescue anyone from a pile of corpses. In contrast, Lady Yoo actually grows and transforms into far more than a silly, vain flirt. Plus, it's not incredible physical beauty which attracts Lord Lee's attention--kudos to the script writer for that.

I came here to vent.....that movie is extremely annoying. Ep 1 and 2 we're extremely boring, it picked up at episode 3 and started being boring again at episode 7 and became extremely annoying at ep 10.....I can't even finish this episode.....ugh!!!!!!
