Guys, have just rewatched this video and then gone out and completely fixed the over idling/revving on my Mostar 185, which was a major issue. It is now completely sorted with a strong idle and a still prop with instant throttle response. Many thanks, keep up the good work.

Regulację trzeba robić na zimnym czy gorącym silniku? Pytam bo nie rozumiem angielskiego jeżeli ktoś szybko mówi, tak jak na filmie.

What is a good indication when the engine runs too rich?

I also like to check the throttle first. Work from throttle handle, cable and then carb.

This is EXACTLY my current problem. I had to replace my muffler -- Vittorazi Crack Of Death -- and the new design started causing me challenges. I mucked with my low needle, but have the exact problem -- I give it gas, and it almost dies, then starts going. The LIVE example of the problem and how to adjust things here was EXACTLY what I needed to see. I was leaning my low needle when I had issues when I should have been enriching (opening) it! Woot! Hope this solves my issues. I'm curious -- why would a slightly different muffler, the Vortex Aero, cause issues with my idle? Next time -- how to know if your belt is not tight enough!

A different pipe is going to change the rate at which air evacuates the engine therefore you have to adjust the mixture entering the combustion chamber accordingly!

@@JPTulo Got it, thanks JP! I'm hoping for some sun and slightly warmer than freezing temps to tweak things back into perfect running condition. Cheers!

Thanks for the info. I’ve been plagued with a high idle on my Nitro for a while.
@Diamondviper9113 жыл бұрын
I used to own a Nitro then I got tired of playing engine mechanic rather than flying. The carb on the Nitro is ungodly sensitive. Sold the Nitro and went to a Vittorazi. Best decision I've made. So much easier to work with and I actually get to fly now.

I seriously regret buying my paramotor from one of your competitors in Spain! They provide absolutely no service and them to be almost rude and condescending when I contacted them about plastic parts that broke. Their replacement parts are ridiculously expensive as well. In a few videos you solved my engine problems and more support then the socalled trainers who sold me my equipment. I cant wait to purchase a Scout one of these days!

All about mixture. Low first. Then tune in the air behind it. Nice edit. Find a baseline. I prefer a HEALTHY idle between 27 and 2900rpm. Also, dont forget, altitude and temperature. These are the reasons we need to make such adjustments. Unless someone has made an adjustment not really knowing yet how to tune their carb just yet. Stay fly guys and gals.

As new Moster 185+ owner/operator videos like these are huge asset in learning how to care for it. QUESTION: What would be a sign that the mixture is too rich?
@adamtotherow34223 жыл бұрын
Pull your plug and take a peak. There is another great video on low idle adjustment. They also cover what it sounds like when too rich. The other thing would be head temp and exhaust gas temp.

The color of your spark plug can go a long way in telling how your engine is running 👍

Great video. Is it possible to do all this with the prop off on a clutched moster? It seems it would be a lot easier to make adjustments with the machine sat on the ground. But as I understand it, revving without a prop on is bad for the engine, but would it matter for short blips of throttle?
@JPTulo3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I wouldn’t do that. You need the load of the prop to put the engine in the proper operating range to get an accurate adjustment. Strap it down to something secure and do it with the prop on 👍
@JPTulo3 жыл бұрын
Is there any particular reason why you’re killing the engine immediately after blipping the throttle? Just curious! Great vid, thanks for sharing!!

I have an issue with my carb; I have adjusted the low needle to react like Miro described. My issue, is that after warming up the engine and going for a full throttle run-up, the engine takes at least 30 seconds to return to idle after letting off the throttle. What could cause this? Some others have suggested that my L needle is still too lean, but even opening it up a bit more doesn't solve this. My H needle is set to factory settings. It seems as if the carb is burning off extra fuel from the full-throttle run-up. Thanks for any advice!
@davidhawkins38203 жыл бұрын
I followed this procedure multiple times with the exact same results. My spark plug is still VERY lean. My motor is a 185 my20 with 9 months of use and I just cleaned the carb. Hi setting is original. Very frustrating.
@SCOUTaviation3 жыл бұрын
Spark plug color also depends on the high needle. You may need to tune that.
