I was raised to be atheist and at 54 went to an ordinary memorial service and had a spiritual encounter during the service which I tried to rationalise for a month, but eventually gave I to the spiritual nudge and went to church a month later feeling a fool for going, the peace and divine love returned the minute I sat down in church. That was 8 months ago, since then I've been baptised and am happy to follow the teachings in the bible. I would gently say pray to Jesus for guidance on this, there is a lot of evil in the world trying to confuse people right now. I wish you well.

Hey bro, I came across your first video and it’s an awesome video. You’re naturally great at this! I was just like you with my Christian faith for a time, struggling to believe. But that was because of the modern day “non-denominational” faith. Protestant churches are the fastest path towards atheism. Today’s churches are lost. I sought to disprove Christ, listened to atheists all over the internet, their debates with Christian’s, etc. But as you continue to ask questions, you will find that atheists cannot explain the Why. Why we behave the way we do, why we seek purpose, and many other fundamental questions about our existence. Then I found the Catholic Church. Along with recent developments with the shroud of Turin, Eucharistic miracles, and countless other inexplainable evidence for Christ. I’d highly recommend inquiring amongst the likes of Trent horn and other Catholic apologists right here on KZbin. Keep seeking answers, I did the same for a couple of years. Just throw some Catholics in the mix :) Christ wants a relationship with you, but he wants you in his church as well. God bless you brother! Really enjoy your videos! Hello Jim, I have listened to your channel. I am mindful of your impression of women. It appears that you consider women to be a race of people trained to exploit men both financially and emotionally. Let me give you another perspective of the nature of many women Many women seek nothing from men. They are genuine and hold down responsible jobs and head either their family of origin or little families they have created. They are not sporting tatoos or flaunting their bodies. As a result of abuse by a male partner early in their lives they choose to remain single. To continue to describe these women to be detramental to a mans well being is toxic and very wrong. It would be nice if you could look beyond the dependent woman who seeks to exploit men and understand that there are genuine women who independently run their own lives and have no desire to exploit a man.

I enjoy your vids, as a non believer from a family with believers after digging into why them and not me I found that a belief is based on an emotion, so, the mental debate is irrelevant. The emotion is usually associated with a personal challenge and the belief is the salvation, so, its extremely difficult to change, because its the believer's shield. I would assume that to question one's belief should start by digging into the challenge that lead to the belief. For most its a typical childhood's insecurity and the parents religion as the shield, so, an old child brain's emotion thats very difficult to retrace as an adult. This is why i call us people stupid smart, we make key life decisions when young and stupid and we act on them in a smart way as adults to the rest of our lives. Its why nothing makes sense in a super connected world, we're a bunch of kids running around acting on our childish ideas. I don't know anyone who left their belief, but, i'd say be careful questioning the shield and avoid the assumption that a better shield awaits, its a personal (and childish) idea, I tell my religious family to stick with theirs even though to me its a load of BS. But, if you do question it, maybe there's no turning back, so, best of luck and watch your steps. As to my own alternative, I see the world as bads and goods, they keep changing, they always exist, my survival depends on my ability to detect and maneuver them, you touched the genders relationships side, now its a negative for the simple fact that its not needed for one's survival, etc..

It's difficult to realize that a lot of your belief system was adopted from your childhood and many folks never understand that. As a youngster I behaved a certain way and had expectations that were all shaped by Religion and what my parents taught me. They were handing down what was taught to them and the cycle continues. I was such an impressionable kid that I believed all of it and couldn't believe the world was so different and ignored most of the teachings. It was utter destruction for my relationships because I was looking for someone who believed exactly as I did. Much later ,when I figured it out, I used to tell a staunchly Christian friend of mine.. what if you were raised in India by Hindu parents? In my humble opinion, Jesus was a Way shower. He was showing people the Way to God. That Way is supposed to be followed. Whether or not He actually existed isn’t as important as the Way itself, which is also in alignment with Dharma, Dao, Logos etc. This is a universal thing and it was being communicated allegorically and metaphorically in the Bible. But, of course, modern Christianity has watered all of this down, literalized it, and made it about belief. Not to mention, it’s led to religious exclusivity instead of understanding the universal nature of the Way. There’s a big difference between the exoteric understanding and the esoteric. God is real and a living reality, but most people are stuck in an exoteric/tribal/materialistic understanding of religion.

So vidoes that are within that realm will show up and it's where your channel did. I'm 58, have affiliated myself with Christianity but also spirituality. I'm not conformed to entirety of non denominational Christianity, don't attend church I'm very open minded, not judging other forms of faith based systems. There is much more I'd like to expound on in regards to my thoughts, perceptions and theories. Like yourself I question a lot, especially after exposed to so much plethora of content, material, testimonies, corruption etc... that gets the mind questioning on what is really true. I think it's a healthy, natural human instinct, cautious, human right and a individual will to question things. What began to change my perspective on Christianity, Jesus etc..., was taking great interest in NDE'S (Near Death Experiences). I've watched and read countless testimonies thru the course of 10+ years. In addition to a great friend of mine in his 70's that had a NDE decades back. The common message I've taken away from their experiences is: "Love" and that we chose to come here for lessons to learn for our souls. We chose our parents, etc... We're here to love. Some NDE'S did meet what they claimed was Jesus. Some did have what is called "life reviews", everything from their childhood up to point last earthly encounter, and placed in the shoes of another of how they made the other feel with their actions and words but after life review they moved on to magnificent experience. A lot seen and encountered loved ones and pets that had passed on. Professing the scenery and love felt is indescribably beautiful and that it's so much real there then here could ever be. I don't know if you've researched NDE'S but if you haven't and are interested, I'd like to suggest 2 great channels to watch - "Coming Home stories of NDE'S" - "The Other Side NDE". I'm just sharing what has resonated with me, makes sense and given me comfort. I have no intentions to sway you nor anyone in a different direction. We're each on our own personal journey of seeking answers, and I love and respect everyone on whatever path resonates with them. My sincerest agape love and wellness to each of you❤

Just know as you question if Jesus ever existed, you should question the people who you are following and believe. Talk to people who had near death experiences and your perspective may change. As humans it’s normal to question everything with proof. We only access a small percentage of our brains for a reason. It’s impossible to know everything but it isn’t wrong to question everything. Aside from the doctrine and investigations into historical accuracy of the texts in Abrahamic religions, there have always been some basic things I could not accept about those religions. Zoom out and you have to ask yourself - ok, so if all people who have not come to Christ before death go to Hell, that must include the billions of Buddhists and Hindus, who are only followers of those religions because of geographical happenstance of their birth, the same way Christians in their country are. You're telling me the Buddhist monk who has lived an ascetic life, doing no harm to others, himself or the Earth is going to Hell? Another point of contention - no loving God would make it possible for a 5yo child to die from bone cancer or create a parasite which digs into their eye and kills them. Thirdly, so many Christians use the religion to hide their rampant narcissism - calling themselves "God's favourite" and other such tropes, all coming from prosperity gospel, these people are some of the most materialistic, self-centred people I've ever met, hiding their greed for things and true religion of conspicuous consumption behind the ostensibly automatic virtue of a faith. Faith lashed to modern capitalism, removing all subtlety of the intangibles, a person being a small part in something much deeper and grander than the here and now. They instead exalt themselves. I find it repulsive. My personal belief system is slowly coming together - a blend of Agnosticism, Buddhism and Pantheism - and I may never have a completely settled view, but I'm comfortable with uncertainty and not knowing. Once you understand who we are is arbitrary - there is seemingly no reason the 'I' behind the I is inhabiting this particular set of DNA and not yours and vice-versa - based upon where we were born and who were raised by, you can get to work becoming a real person. It's a difficult task, you can feel lost and alone, but it's worth it to become a fully fleshed out human being, apart from your programming. That gives my life meaning.

Great video. I believe the Bible was written for us, not about us. I was brought up as going to Sunday school to learn about God and the bible, I was never forced to go and when the time came I no longer wished to go to church, it wasn't forced on me. They wanted me to have the knowledge of God and the Bible but left me free to choose what I did with the knowledge. I have never returned to attend "churches" I don't call myself a Christian, but spiritual, a believe in all things good. Where in the Bible is the word Christian? I do believe there is some higher power than ourselves. I went down the path that all things are not as they appear a few years back, and interestingly enough in doing research I included the bible as part of it. There are answers in it to what exactly is going on in our world today and by whom. "Revelations", the "Apocalypse" I believe to be the unveiling of what is the truth, not end times, but end of the deceit. The evil ones are playing out revelations as a scripted movie at the moment, I don't believe it's from God. I also think part of the deceit is dividing people into groups, left, right, Christians, non Christians, so many groups so many ways to manipulate and control. The book of the Bible clearly states many times over Christ/God is within us, "We" are the church etc. Are those that stand in front of the podium and preach the word of God being totally honest? They are asking people for money for a feels good 1 hour speech asking for payment to spread the word of God, instilling a certain amount of fear of hell, in a people paid for building.....the list goes on. Where in the Bible does it say that is what God/Jesus instructed us to learn. They are doing a job/work for money, is their heart in the right place? The Bible is "the greatest story ever told" . What is written in the Bible is good and if we follow a path in life following the understanding of attempting to live in love not hate and treating others as we want to be treated, following the 10 commandments as best as possible, it's living life in the best way. BIBLE = Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

I recall a video going over the Josephus writing and pointing out that it appeared that a scribe had forged in an extra description/claim, but there was a second reference elsewhere in the writing, about James, that suggested the existence of the first mention was not fully fabricated (aka, briefly mentioning Jesus because who the person was had been explained previously). The video also pointed out that records of nearly anyone from that time period is rare. Certainly a bit of a judgment call to figure out the nuance of how much might've been fiddled with by scribes over the centuries. However, the attention to all of the other stated events vs records and discoveries is worth not dismissing as well. Christianity has gone through a bit of goalpost moving, though. When I was young much of it was "everything is literal." Neutral(ish) science and research that produce conclusions that are at odds with the traditional, religious stances often leads to a fair bit of mental gymnastics. Jim's journey definitely feels like moving from black and white religion to a broader spirituality. Only the future will show if we, like students new to college unsure of what to major in, broaden out for awhile before contracting back to something specific. The fluctuation between breadth and depth seems part of the natural progression of things.

Veith will give you context on this topic. One runs the risk of spiraling into Jungian interpretations of spiritual experiences if not compared to the larger breadth of information. We have prophetic timelines from the book of Daniel, predating Jesus' birth by over 400 years. The Talmud puts a curse on those who try to calculate the prophecy found in Daniel. Actually, I implore you to examine the arguments put forth by Veith, not just Total Onslaught but Rekindling the Reformation, From Crete to Malta, and his current yt channel Clash of Minds. Hello Jim, Interesting video. I believe that Jesus Christ is real. I do not believe that one quick, half hearted childish sentence takes care of my sin. Confessing to God (not a man) my sins frequently, repenting from sin and striving to not sin is a must. To me prayer is a must!!! I was not raised in a christian home, in the sense of praying, attending church or even bible reading. Today churches have turned away from worship and become places to entertain people in order to increase attendence. The latest stats show only about 1 % of todays youth are believers. I am sure you see our society becoming more and more hateful, impatient and morally void. We have left our first love...God. Psalm 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. All the best to you Jim.

Keep in mind, also, that one's belief system is core to their personal identity, hence the grip that faith has on one's mind and why I can't imagine becoming religious myself; it's just not who I am. I was never raised religiously, but rather, religion-neutral. Conveniently, for the purpose of comparison, my father's elder brother raised his three daughters in a very Christian-conservative (Calvinist) home 300 miles away. Keeping it short and simple, I'm very thankful not to have been warped by that experience; though I know of several (it could be the majority overall) atheists locally who emerged from religious upbringings. I independently decided for myself at age 13 that I'm just atheist, reckoning that if I'm wrong, a good god would expect me to use the brain and mind she gave me to think for myself; later realizing that all religions and conceptions of the divine or supernatural are simply the creation of human (specifically male) imagination and knowledge of our own finitude. It's okay to not have all of life's mysteries answered. The things we understand through scientific inquiry-and most certainly through evolutionary science-are literally awesome, or better, awe-inspiring, far more so than any answer provided by mythology. And what we don't yet know through scientific inquiry (logos, as opposed to mythos), is okay. Likely neither science nor religious belief can answer the ultimate of questions, the central mystery of universal origin (as best as I can conceptualize it). Religious belief provides but a pat, infantile "answer" to the currently unknown, and the likely ultimate unknowable... start thinking deeply about the universe, our own galaxy's insignificance within, and one may get my drift. I've heard that LSD, psilocybin, ayahuasca etc. can help a little with such questions... at least better than old bible stories can. I recommend "Gutsick Gibbon's" KZbin channel for young Earth creationist debunking and the latest on physical anthropology/early human origins, along with Forrest Valkai's science channel, in addition his contributions on "The Atheist Experience" channel.

i found you a few weeks ago and liked your overall belief system. However, I realized there were certain things you werent aware of yet. But like many, you are coming from the same origins and beliefs as rest of us, just havent walked all the way down that road yet... or well, are at a different location. One thing I personally learned, as there are SOOOOOO MANY different lies out there, is my ego constantly what's me to think I'm the smart boy, or that I know the most. I fell into a rut of disliking/arguing with anyone on the net that didn't have my EXACT views... or didn't know the EXACT debunked crap I did. I had to realize my ego or devil had me in a new level of discontent, so I was able to see through it and change my thoughts on people that aren't AS "redpilled" as me. I came to conclusion that we are on a road of knowledge that may have no destination, and we are on different parts of it. As a result I should be grateful when I find someone on it ANYWHERE, and that arguing over info is just another flesh trap. The tree of knowledge?? or Tree of Life?... which tree do I REALLY want to be a part of. Sure, I'll hang out near the tree of knowledge, but at end of day, it's all about the Tree of Life. Much love Jim B!!

Hi Jim, Thank you for sharing this video and your thoughts so openly. It takes courage to question beliefs you’ve held since childhood, and I deeply respect your journey. I wanted to ask, without any intention of attacking or challenging you, if you’ve ever taken the time to read the Qur’an for yourself-without media influence or preconceptions. Many questions about Jesus and his role are addressed there, as well as why Allah (which is also "Eloah" in Hebrew and "Allah" in Aramaic-the language Jesus himself spoke) is central to understanding God. In fact, Christians in Arab-speaking countries also refer to God as Allah. The Qur’an presents Prophet Muhammad as the final messenger, continuing the message of earlier prophets. Would you consider making a video about your experience reading the Qur’an and sharing your thoughts? I believe it would provide fascinating insights for many of your viewers, regardless of their faith. Thanks again for your honesty and for starting such meaningful conversations.

While it’s true that belief plays a central role in most religions, it’s not quite accurate to say all religions are based on belief. It’s more involved than that. Many religions emphasize practice and orthopraxy (correct conduct) as much as, or even more than, belief or orthodoxy (correct belief).

Sir Jim, your faith should only " come from hearing, and your hearing should come from the WORD of God" ...not from the words of many theologians for "faith is BEING SURE of what we hope for, and BEING CERTAIN of what we do not see. .. and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to HIM MUST BELIEVE that God EXISTS and that He rewards those who EARNESTLY seek Him" Epistle to the hebrews 11:1-6 Having served 23 years with USA army , I.e. in Afghanistan, you must have killed more human beings than you even know. First remove the OBSTACLE of your sin between God and you, through asking for Yeshuas pardon, then the blindness of your heart He will take away and you will be enabled to receive his holy spirit by your faith from a pure cleaned , NEW BORN heart. Then you won't doubt anymore on the existence of Yeshua from Natzerat. That is what I did and Yeshua rewarded me beyond all my expectations Shalom

Jim, I see you got that book I recommend by Dan Barker. I am on the same journey as you. I was born and raised into a Christian household, church twice on Sundays and once on Wednesdays. I always had questions why my beliefs (Christianity/southern Baptist) was the right way and ALL the other denominations and religions (Muslim, Judaism, etc.) were wrong. I also thought how would people living in the woods that never heard about religion at all wood go to hell. Well, after watching hours and hours of content from other like minded people, ex Christian’s, ex pastors, atheist etc. it became extremely obvious that every single religion is man made used to control mass groups of people, create wars and division and it is also big big money. It is so freeing knowing there is no such thing as sin or a hell. It’s all made up. Be a good person and be good to your fellow humans. I am also very much so red pilled aware and have been for the past couple years and that also makes you realize how so many Hollywood movies hyped up marriage and love. It has nothing to do with love lol. Anyways so glad to see this video man I almost had tears of joy listening to you breaking free cause that is EXACTLY I how felt! I understand the frustration, but I can tell you conviction on why Jesus is real in my own research. When Christ does reveal himself as the messiah, its a tall order, that even his family says he is crazy. He directs us to the spiritual from the religious legalism the Jews have indoctrinated amongst themselves. The apostles who follow him, scatter and deny him as he pays the ultimate price. That should have been the end of it, but the resurrection occurs. Now these men, who had all been ashamed and afraid, sacrifice themselves to their own painful deaths to proclaim the good news. As a military man, you know how much work has been done on the PsyOP and torture for information department, people will not willingly die for a lie. Just the act of collusion to get 11 stories straight from the apostles, is a miracle. In the Book of Luke and Acts of the Holy Spirit of the Apostles documents the church's explosion through the world. This is personal opinion here, but Rome being in power at the time, leads us to excellent records, not just of Jesus but the Acts of the Apostles. Have institutions lead us astray? Absolutely. I am interested in your history, were you one that was more religious or spiritual? You are doing the hard work, but just be careful in the confirmation bias of your research. Pray and meditate that the Lord makes himself known to you.

Mr Junior / James .In Matthew 22:14, Jesus tells us that, "Many are called, but few are chosen." and J, 15, 18-21 : " If the world hates you, know that it hated me first. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world, because I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: "A servant is not greater than his master." If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you too. If they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for my name's sake, for they know not him who sent me. " Everyone has the right to doubt and also to question the truths in which they have believed so far. However, in my humble opinion, I think that if you have doubted the essence of Jesus so quickly, it means that you have not built a deep and lasting relationship with God before. Maybe the current stage of checking is the stage to build this relationship. Let God bless you.

Your observation about religions is correct. This is because different religions are created by different civilizations. Dear Jim, there is actually evidence of the existence of a Higher Power. I’ll give you several different messages from God that I received through telepathy. “You are not a loser in relationships: you have simply always sought a high, great love, which is not easy to find.” “You have always sought to help people, and therefore women have perceived you not as a man, but as a helper and a friend.” And when I met one woman, God said to me, hinting at the future result: “You will be upset.” And so it happened. This is only a small part of what I received. I am with God without religion. This is my own experience. As for Jesus Christ, one day he came to me in meditation and said: “If you want, all of us will come to you.” It is interesting: I recognized the energy of Christ immediately. You can talk to people and you’ll find out that after death, souls often come to their living relatives. My mother heard the calling voice of her own dead mother, a few days after she died. Many people can give you examples from their personal experience of communication with the spiritual world.
