The sport used to be run by racers. Now it's run by business people who not only don't know anything about racing, but also don't care about it either. They're all about lining up their pockets.. that's it.

@@DeletedAccountRIP yes, it definitely seems like they do not care about the fans or the racing. I know they are trying to make some changes, like having the clash at Bowman grey or the all star at North Wilkesboro. These are great but I don't think it will save the sport.

@ It’s a bad attempt especially when the short track package is as bad as it is. And the best they can come up with is changing the tires rather than just admit this next gen car is a pile of garbage. It’s bad enough when they had the audacity to tell Tony Stewart he didn’t know what he was talking about. Hence, why Tony left.

@@joshuaburkhart7690 that was a damn shame how they messed up that track. Only time will tell. they resurfaced and added more banking to Kansas not that long ago as well. I think you can see it on the time clock, but not that much different in person as far as Kansas.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for being so well-spoken. I appreciate this video, you earned a sub. For me, a lot of the problems come from the commentating and general broadcasting. I was just watching the 1970 Nashville 420, and it was nice to hear the commentator doing just that. Describing what’s going on in a very objective, professional and factual manner. No unnecessary chitchat to fill space (honestly I don’t understand why the modern commentators do that crap, it’s not like we fans wouldn’t be perfectly fine with just listening to the sounds of the engines). No putting down and making condescending remarks about certain drivers. Just straight and to the point. I also noticed the limited cuts to commercials, which was nice. None of that “let’s play the same commercials every 5 seconds for the majority of the race so the viewers can miss most of the action”. It’s so bad nowadays that when I was at the 2023 Daytona, my dad called me from home to ask if the race had even started yet because all he was seeing was commercials Also, to touch on your point about the inconsistent officiating.. God you’re speaking my mind man. You’re right, it is damn infuriating and just downright unfair. I was at Daytona last year and was vehemently pissed at the end of it. How Alex Bowman could literally wreck half the field and still come in 2nd blew my mind. They said it was an accident but we all knew it wasn’t. Watching the replay just confirms it. I was seriously pulling for Logano, so the wreck really set me off. Love him or hate him, he raced beautifully that day and led 45 laps in the final stage. They were on the 8th to the last lap, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw his car being towed away. All around, it was just a rough experience. Not NASCAR’s fault (although they did wait until the LAST second to announce the delay) but the race being postponed a day meant my cousin couldn’t attend with me, which is our annual tradition. Freezing to death the entire day didn’t help either. Don’t know if you saw it, but Christopher Bell (who’s generally pretty quiet) had a press interview a couple months back where he was calling NASCAR out on their bullshit officiating and favoritism. He’s always been a favorite of mine so this made me respect him even more. I’m sure next season they’re gonna pull some BS with him now that he called them out.

Yes I have noticed on the very few races I watch on tv that even the broadcast was starting to be more like traditional sports. I like to know what's going on, but I agree that most fans would like more of the race. Hopefully NASCAR will figure out a good mix in the future. I understand they have to have some commercials for monetary reasons, but not every 2 min. Thank you for the comment.

NASCAR needs more Horsepower for the new car, more short tracks, more blue collar drivers, less corporate overreach, and less restrictions on what sponsors can be on the cars. NASCAR has been neutered and needs to get their nuts back.

Your saying bill Eliott and Ken Schroeder like it must have been years since you was really into racing? What Kenny Wallace was saying is drivers like Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Dale Jr, Kasey Kane, Carl Edwards, Kevin harvick, Greg Biffle, jimmy Johnson, Clint bowyer, Matt kenseth, Kurt Bush, sure might be few others but most the drivers I named where fan favorites or drivers fans loved to hate it either way it made racing fun the drama and personalities made watching racing fun thing is all theses drives retired around the same time within 3 to 5 seasons seems like every year there would be 2 or 3 drivers that would retire or just couldn't find a ride cause these teams want drivers who bring Daddy's money it's all about paid rides now but with all these drivers leaving the spot and being replaced by these rich spoiled kids who didn't earn there ride Daddy's $ got them there and they are just boring... Think about it the only aggressive drivers or one to speak there mind and bring excitement is Ross Chastain, Noah Grayson, drivers hate Ross cause he drives hard and will move you to win same way with Noah and he speaks his mind Noah just hasn't had the best cup equipment but hoping that changes with front row next season anyways Brad keselowski, Kyle Bush use to be exciting but now they both have mellowed out aton I'm guessing cause they got older you don't see then being aggressive or speaking there mind like they use to but then again they both have struggled to win now Kyle went winless last season and brad won at Darlington witch was his first win in almost 3 seasons it sucks I've always loved brad he still my favorite after jr retired but my point is Kyle and brad are at the end of there careers I'd say there both retired in less then 5 seasons and it sucks feels like there the last of the good days of racing like I said alll these new drivers are boring and have no personality it's killing racing just ain't exciting to watch anymore

@@coreylackey2391 well I was mentioning them because they were around the late 80s to early 90s when NASCAR had started its boom. They went drivers like that to the drivers of today. I actually stopped watching when they screwed Edwards out of a championship with that fake caution.

Never was an Edwards fan always liked brad k and well sure you know there history.. Nascasr boom was at it's top in the early 2000s to like 2010 but you hit it on the head $ is what killed the sport nascar was so popular and they seen dollar sights started building all these boring tracks they could seat a hundred thousand people and leaving like you said North wilkesboro Rockingham even took Darlington down to one race for years and what's funny is NASCAR started tearing down grandstands at these tracks when they where empty and couldn't sell these races out they didn't want to show a bunch of empty seats on tv.. Think it's to late but nascar is tryin to go back to the old days with All-Star race at North wilkesboro Bowman Gray is getting the opening and the trucks plus Xfinity series are goin back to the rock this season and rumors cup could go back to the rock in 26

I hope it's not too late for NASCAR, but they have a lot of work to do. Thanks for your comments.

Well I stopped watching all the way back in the 70's. Now I loved racing. But I learned that the race wasn't about innovation, it was about the Big two winning. Ford and Chevy. When Dodge came out with the Daytona and Superbird and then NASCAR started limiting it, that was when I quit. How to save it? You need to start at the local level. Stop making rules at Dirt track and hard surface tracks that make it so expensive to race. Then find the best of those drivers and help them become the face of NASCAR. Not these Ken dolls that are running it that daddy paid good money to get them there. They are all just spoiled brats to us average Americans. We Americans are right now tired of watching rich people play. And that is who is driving all those cars in NASCAR. Just as I've told road racing like F1 Grand Prix and the 24 hr Lamans. You need to start local with small road race tracks that don't have so many rules that only the rich can drive in, then take the best of those drives and move them up. Oh and quit this charging $10 for a beer. Quit being greedy. There you go.
