i might get hate for saying this, but he is the real ace of 127. he's not just any pillar, he's THE pillar of nct, esp in 127. why? he's irreplaceable. at least for now, unless SM have the other members leveled up and match taeyong's prowess, especially in rap. when you think about it, mark and taeyong are both talented rappers. while mark excels at flow, taeyong is superior in style and individuality. mark's flow is easy to everyone's ear, so it's understandable that people like his rap more than taeyong's, but that also makes his rap replaceable. for instance, nct dream have survived with 6 members and they covered mark's line just fine. but can you imagine, lets say, mark or johnny covering taeyong's rap? no you can't. because his rap execution screams signature and individual style. that's just how superior he is as an artist. he is taeyong, the true pillar and ace of nct 127.

What I really admire about taeyong is that he is somehow very humble and kind of not believing in his own skills, but he still has the courage to try his hand at many things and go all the way with it when he does them. Imagine randomly picking handsome boy from the street for a freaking toast, and thinking that with some luck and work you can turn him into somewhat decent dancer/rapper/vocalist, but mainly going for visuals and then BAM, this boy works so hard that he become a main dancer, and he is so freaking talented that he can write such a good lyrics and be such a good rapper, and capable enough to be a vocalist too - all without any background in such activities (ffs he didn't know anything about kpop industry). ( bear with me im finna write a full essay eye- ) taeyong works so hard, and puts his best effort and all of his heart into his music (including nct and his solo stuff), choreography, concepts, etc. plus he's such an amazing leader !! including how he has to deal with 20 other members ! (excluding ty) he carries that burden but does it with pride and passion. mostly people really only see him as a visual but he's so much more than that. he's so creative and is the reason why almost everything nct related is so good. he's an amazing songwriter, dancer, singer, artist, and person in general. after getting into nct more a few months ago i realized that he's so much more than a visual. but a man who works his ass off 24/7 to be where he is today. without taeyong nct wouldn't be as successful of a group as it is today. and as of today he is still working very hard to make content, music, etc for nctzens. but let's not take it for granted !! he works so hard that i sometimes worry for him. he deserves a break really tbh. im proud of how far taeyong has come as a person and in nct, he is truly something. and i love him sm from the bottom of my heart

That boy has worked so hard and perfected himself to be an amazing leader for his group and he really is an inspiration. This is what we mean when we say "a visual is nice but what else?" If you take away the looks or visuals of an artist then what will be left of them? There should be more. There HAS to be more. Not only for ty but I am glad people are starting to *actually* appreciate kpop, and the people who create/write, for the art that it actual is instead of focusing on how someone looks. We love the visuals trust me but there is more to these artists than just their faces and bodies.
