The way i am going to blast so many WhatsApp groups with this video! Also going on a weird tangent with your example - all the people i've met who have "apolitical" in their bio are either right wingers who know being right wing wouldn't get them laid or extremely privileged brats who think the world exists for them. this term is now a genuine red flag.

I just want to say this meghnad that I always felt ashamed of not having real struggles in my life. No financial or any survival issue. But the last thing that you said that there are people who cannot afford to look up and hence, there is a chance they'll always be stuck in that pit. So, as a person who can actually afford to look up, observe and work in this direction, this can be an opportunity for me instead of a weakness.

One of the things that I love about my parents is that they criticise the government whenever its actions are detrimental to public welfare , democracy and human rights. But they also appreciate them for their efforts and good policies. I am thankful to them because they taught me from a young age to be unsentimental towards politicians and parties. To always focus on the work they are do. 😊
@somschimmy9665 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I am glad my parents did the same. It is a simple phenomenon called logical thinking and I am so thankful to parents for inculcating the same. The Government is a service provider, and providing services is source of power, which enables everybody to play politics. The moment all the emotion about a leader is removed, what remains is a rational assessment, which is difficult for people to do.

Now that's nerdy. Very well complied and that analogy meghnerd. Amazing. The power ladder analogy once you go high up to top of it you have two options hoard it or give away. I think that's what happened to Stalin or others like him. They started fighting for society but they ended up being dictators themselves. (You become what you hate thing). Most important part was Chapter 5 give away power. ..

@dharmeshparikh78375 ай бұрын
Well interesting discussion. But you can't force someone to discuss politics, Meghnad. 😂😂It's one's individual freedom whether to discuss politics or not. If someone is not interested talking about politics or even debate then it's their preferences. You should avoid calling them piece of ****. There are many people who are not interested to discuss politics . They are happy utilizing their voting rights on the given day siltently and after that they are happily busy in their work or occupation. They understand politics but they don't discuss or participate in such political discussions just because they are not interested for discussion. I know such people and they exist. So don't color everyone under same picture.

I asked a similar question in the live stream which is at the beginning of this video, here is what I think now, being affiliated and knowing about something are two different things, for example, I know about TCS but I don't work for them or with them, which means I have knowledge of what TCS is but I am not affiliated with them. Similarly, when you are asked for your affiliation with any party you can answer that you are apolitical and not willfully ignorant, however, if someone asks you about your views on politics, you cannot answer that you are apolitical, you just don't know about the topic or you are ignoring the topic since you are not interested which is you are willingly ignoring the topic hence willingly ignorant or willfully ignorant or whatever you call it. It's not something to be triggered by but since we have conditioned in such a way that we think of the word ignorant as bad and associate it with ignorant fool even if that's not true. therefore the saying “ignorance is bliss.”

Isn’t it necessary to have an strong vision before we jump in and start assuring people about our grand vision for them. Power in a democracy comes from the people, if we want power people must be giving it to us. Why would people give it to us? We can lie beautiful lies, make them dream impossibles, like much of todays politicians, but that is not who we are. Then what do we do? First we need to formulate a path, a path that improves the pit situation for all, the path that will benefit the political aspirants and non aspirants equally. We, the poliically aware people, need to read, discuss, and brainstorm new ideas for the mass upliftment. The point I beg to differ is that, It’s not criminal to be politically unintersted, while you are climbing up you can’t say “Climb with me, or die here”, you must say “Help me climb, I’ll make the pit better for you”. And you must keep your word. Democracy may have four pillers, but the foundation lies in the political awareness of the people participating in it. This is a great initiative towards mass education about “politics”, I hope you continue even if you don’t get as many likes as you expected. I look forward to hear what you have to say about my argument. Peace.

I take issue with your opinion that moms don’t want to discuss politics! I am a mom & whats more, even a grandma and absolutely delight jumping feet first into any discussion political! A decade back I was listening to the podcast "How to Citizen" and I was astonished on how much I information I didn't give a rats ass during my school days simply because me and my friends hated the Civics subject. We were only history, science and geography nerds. The podcast helped me simple it to understand the rights we have as citizens of this country and how we can exercise them if we are treated poorly. Till today I didn't know it was you who created that podcast and I think I have reached full circle to follow you here and I would like to thank you on the work you are doing to enable fellow citizens to understand their rights and helping them with the tools to do so.
