12:01 Talking about cops, this happened on the outskirts of bangalore last week. A thief grabbed a women's vaulet, and a man standing by managed to slow him down by hitting his legs with a brick , the women got her money back. The police soon arrived and investigated the man who stopped the theif by saying " we are here to investigate him mean while how could you hurt someone(theif)". Locals believe a lot of such thieves have a share of their daily "income" with the local police.

Janaab, i have faced it in BTM-Silkboard route. I had caught pick pocketers on many occasions and did beat them well. The entire gang thrashed me on one fine morning inside AC Volvo bus that was filled with IT employees. Maine ek pickpocketer ko phod dia tha.. to mujhe police threaten krne lagi kyonki may Muslim hoon. Few Good Kannadiga hindus came forward to rescue me from police telling them that i am the Good samaratian. Baad me.. on a similar occasion the police took my address under the pretext of identifying pick pocketers if am called to police station. Bassstaards gave me address to pickpocketer gang. Eventually i had to change my residence

I am quite impressed with newslaundry. I have been thinking, that revenue can be generated by the sale of current affairs magazines and yearly books. Students will pay I expect.You could also use financial advisors as part of your team to communicate business news and even sell unbiased resources for retail investors.

About the narrative point, I'd like to give my opinion on it as a bunch of us new voters, have lived in places where the narratives pushed by the system doesn't exist in the open. It may be that individually we may see it, but for us it's something that's an exception and not the rule. Also we as a generation (now about 25-30 years of age) were occupied with all the other stuff like health, education and earning own money, trying to earn more money and just dealing with day to day insecurities in our own bubble. And when someone tries to push a narrative that doesn't exists for us, then we call it out and take action as we don't have the energy to argue about it.

Thanks Manisha at 59:24 speaking about Akash doing the show on Bangladesh. In Bangladesh everyone in youtube felt we were not alone after watching those, specially part 2. We all felt that no one cared, that a blood bath was imminent. The India Godi channels were even then showing differently. West Bengal and Mamta di was with students but she was silenced by Modi and Godi. It was a spontaneous people protest, we were expecting a blood bath, and never to see anyone alive again. We know Bengali blood was cheap, till then did not realize was so cheap

Maybe Journalists should start Research as a Service model on a revenues sharing basis with the explainer content creators. Just giving credit and assuming the traffic will take care of rest doesn't happen, so use the diluted copyright way of sharing information among the community. Collaborating will also allow synchronous publication leading to a more organic recommendation reach due to the AI/ML facets of KZbin backend. Also journalists can appear as panelists instead of having to double time as explainers in front of cameras. P.S: The DR model is as commercial as BB model is just a matter of positioning (in political sense).

A fundamental problem that I have with the "Models of the news" section is that the reasoning is not very empirical. You guys should have collected enough information through your viewers to get an idea of who really consumes your content. A deeper look into this information should reveal a lot of ideas on what makes NL, Desh Bhakt and other online news outlets "tick." I would conjecture that the consumption of online news would be increased when mainstream media is unable to show a somewhat objective analysis of current events.
