I first heard of NewJeans by randomly finding it on Spotify, and I never guessed it was a kpop group but it sounded like some girl making music from her computer. It was really different and enjoyable to listen to. Also, this video is extremely well made, you should get thousands more views and subscribers

I agree! Especially with the fact that their music isn’t as loud as most kpop hits, it let’s them stand out. To add on to ur vid, I think a big part of their success with the songs they’ve released after u made this is the styles and trends they’ve done. The lowkey drum n bass songs are super popular rn cuz of Pink Pantheress. Also making Bmore/Jersey club! Really original stuff in the kpop scene, and they back it up with rly good songs too

Big fan of Min Hee Jin - despite all the controversy surrounding NewJeans lyrics - I think she's an amazing thinker. Someone who's able to blend commerce and art beautifully. Not comparing - but to my knowledge the last such person was Steve Jobs! Could you forward the source from which you sighted those quotes from Min Hee Jin. Im having a hard time reading her interviews, barely any of them are in English.

There is only one reason they dominate, "their voices". They are making music with the tone and range of their voices. Watch IU "Pallet #21 with NewJeans" and you'll hear each one of their voice. They sound much better with a band. Their voices have a jazz sound when singing and harmonizing, which is amazing with musical instruments.

"I feel like I'm actually listening to music for once." K-POP DJ here in Houston, Texas and I feel like what you said is very true. NewJeans even appeals to me as a 33 year old man simply because I feel like the music isn't trying too hard. It also helps that they cater to nostalgia and that the group isn't typically in line with most popular K-POP trends that we've seen in the past 5 years. I mean, I like Red Velvet, but there's a reason why I still think Bad Boy is their best song as opposed to Queendom or whatever the fuck Birthday is supposed to be.
