I have experienced all these issues in Amazon and few more companies. There was a girl in Amazon who didn't work much in the new team we both joined. Her outfits were kind of half naked and she became very respectable and popular with the team and managers

the other layer of harsh reality is impacting your core qualities which you parents/teachers teach you in the beginning of schooling.."be good, do good" "be humble" "no self blabbering" " let karma take it course" etc etc .. corporate mindset is making the world a war zone of mentalities, selfishness (its normalized now), dont care about others, save your ass at any cost etc etc. Every bad quality is getting normalized...no respect to elders at work place... many such things...

This is story of government sector as well. And the worst part is that your hard work DOES NOT get converted into anything. You can predict the salary and your position 30 years from now. Atleast in corporate, you have an opportunity to become visible to upper heirarchy.

I believe this is an appropriate place to share a concern that many of us might relate to. It's challenging when those with significantly more experience, such as 15 years, expect the same level of knowledge from someone with only 1.5 years of experience. This often leads to uncomfortable situations where seniors criticize juniors publicly, which can be particularly damaging for those who are sensitive or have had difficult past experiences. This kind of treatment can contribute to feelings of depression and anxiety, making it even harder to perform well at work. It's important for us to foster a supportive and understanding environment for everyone, regardless of their experience level.

Thank you so much for this. Even I used to be under the impression that if so just work hard, I would get noticed automatically without me having to speak up, but when I was proven wrong. When I asked for promotion, a senior manager asked me why I hadn’t spoken up earlier. I did get my promotion, but that’s because I had a good manager. But the important point is that we need to speak up and convey our thoughts to our managers

So true! The mentality about not “creating” problems for your boss is a losing strategy. The trick is to “re-frame” issues as an opportunity to showcase your problem solving skills, make your boss feel like he is a great manager, give credit to your boss, then maybe you will get some recognition.

100% true. I have two questions, can you please answer them: People claim/fear AI takes away 70% of the jobs. But fortunately, AI has not replaced that many jobs so far. 1)So, my question is if chatgpt can replace coders, it should have replaced by now. Since it has not done that, can we assume that coders won't be replaced until further developments in AI? By replace I mean something like 70% of the programmers. 2)Many companies instructed their employees to not to use AI tools like ChatGPT as they did not want to share their data, can this serve as a shield to protect programmers from being replaced ?
