I think we've been awake, we just didn't care until now. They've gone too far. Also, for me, I'm getting older and don't want as much as I did before and am growing tired of the excess. But I would still pay thousands for a bag if I absolutely loved it. Worth/Value is in the eye of the beholder.

Designer never produce anything that has quality in it, just creating something aesthetically pleasing, something for people to talk about, the true quality comes from craftsmen and their craftsmanship. Just like architects and engineers, architects only want to design something that catches eyes of the world but behind those ridiculous design are blood and sweat of engineers that never took credits.

I’ve picked up bags from Cafune, The Horse, Le Tanneur, DeMellier, and Coach but I’ve also sold 15 bags. I buy preloved but not fakes. I am actively reducing my wardrobe and only keeping the pieces that I love and enjoy wearing. I’ve had to help clean out relatives’ homes after their death and I really do not want to leave this earth with a load of crap that someone else has to deal with.

Le Tanneur is definitely on my radar, although I've yet to buy from them. I have bought from Pourchet Paris, Jerome Dreyfuss, APC, Decadent, Coach, and Mulberry. I only have two higher pricetag bags, and they're both ones I thought about for years (one is more logo heavy, which isn't my normal style, but due to the colour combination I just couldn't stop wanting it).

Whether it is *eudupe* or any other product, I firmly believe that only practitioners can detect the difference in the appearance of the bag or the metal composition. *eudupe* is really a perfect choice.

I heard that Cartier has stopped certifying the Love Bracelet because it is difficult to authenticate now 😊 The Chanel knockoff bag I bought in *eudupe* looks almost the same as the original one. It only costs a little money to have the same bag of the big brand, and I think it is worth it.

I previously spent over $80,000 on auth. I regret it very much and wish I knew about high quality repliacas earlier so that I could save a lot of money. Dear Sophie and commenters, I too have down sized not only my own closet but my mothers. My mom is still alive (soon to be 103). When she was in hospital getting her hip repaired (isn't that wild) she asked me to clean out her assisted living suite. You would not believe the stuff that was in 3 closets and a small storage closet. It was really a blast from the past, my sister and I were happy to find the lost family photos, family documents etc. My sister is going to organize and put all these in an album for her. But so many items were so old they just crumbled when handled. Thank goodness her building had no restriction on garbage bags and we did donate where possible. So, because of that I did a massive clear out and so did my sister. So my mantra now is one in and one out. I agree with you love it when you buy it and wear/ use it. I too bought items "just to have them" and waited for that right day/event that did not happen. Peggy F. P.S. Wow, 103! what's her secret? (It's in the genes, that's all.) I also have the mantra "1 in, 1 out." Don't imagine I'm a minimalist - by no stretch of the word, and i still have a lot of clutter, but this mantra helps keep some stuff under control. Oh, I love going through other people's stuff, i know it's very rude and of course i do it only if they show me. I love seeing the treasures they accumulated throughout their lives.

I saved up money for a few months to buy a ZP, but it got scratched on the third day. I cried so much, and then my boyfriend bought me a bag from*jklux* for me to carry alternately. I don't care if I buy a fake or a super fake. The Chanel super fake I bought on *eudupe* is perfect. The material looks the same as the original. At least I feel beautiful when I carry it out, but I don't have to worry about it being scratched. After all, it is very cheap.

I have two pre-loved*jklux* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

I have no sympathy for brands like Chanel. They only focus on selling designs that have been around for decades, so "intellectual property" is not an excuse for high prices. Buying a knock-off bag can save a lot of premium money, so why not, it works the same, just like the knock-off bag I bought on *eudupe* , the quality is excellent

Sidebar here. I cannot tell you how much it means to watch your little bunny run around your feet. I’ve had wild rabbits in my backyard for years helped raise some babies, had one that would come when I called her and she would sit about 4 feet away from me while I put her morning carrots under my shed for her. Super fakes are so good now. Knowing what you are buying is not the same as being cheated. The replice LV carryall bag I bought on *eudupe* is no different from the real thing. The main reason is that it is cheap and you don’t have to feel bad about the money you spend.

Love the bunny. ❤ Agree 100%, Sophie. I have just unloaded about 20 bags for resale. My closet is much more manageable! I have narrowed my collection down to the ones I love and use. If it's sat in the closet for several months or a year and I haven't touched it, it's gone. And I'm just not buying the prominent "logo" luxury bags anymore. They all look the same! Has anyone else noticed how cheap they are on the finishings and interiors? Cheap leather, no organizational pockets, cheap or no lining, no feet on the bottom. The less expensive brands are walloping the luxury brands in this regard - nice leather, feet on the bottom, suitable hardware, nice pockets on the inside, and nice lining. The luxury brands, IMOP, are becoming no more than super expensive fast fashion. Amen to "decluttering my life"!

Now that the economy is better, it is really a choice whether to buy a branded bag or not. On the contrary, I don't want to buy one that much. I even think that if I really need it, it is not impossible to buy *eudupe* . After all, it is unreasonable to compare with branded bags, and bags are consumables. It is really not worth wasting my hard-earned money.

I don't know why people are obsessed with Chanel, Dior, etc.... Your job is not to make Mr. Bernard Arnault the richest man in the world, but he makes you poorer. Every time you pass by his store, even buying a replica of his brand will make his original products more relevant and attractive. The Chanel replica bag I bought on *eudupe* is no different from the one in the store. My friend saw that my bag is very beautiful, and I told her directly that it is fake. She said that she couldn't tell at all.

They are! I’ve sold almost all my luxury designer bags. TJ Maxx has this amazing brand, Italian leather called Falor and Firenze. They are dupes of Bottega and The Row Margaux. Between $80-$200 US.

A few years ago I picked up a bag for Margot New York. It's a brand I'd never heard of, but the leather on this bag was GORGEOUS and soft. It's held up super well and I still use it all the time. Today I just received another one from the brand and it's the same -- gorgeous, soft leather. It's a very low-key brand, but I've been impressed so far.

That crocheted bag is fantastic! I hope 2025 is the year of the tailor for fashion. I want to change out the buttons on my shirts for unique ones, add coat linings in beautiful colors, and get my jeans to be the exact fit that’s most flattering, maybe with some embroidery! Since picking up a few vintage bags and seeing their quality, I just can’t justify spending more on new. So sorry to hear that crime has gone up where you are with bag theft and I hope that changes soon!

I think dupes are a great way of trying something out. I also have a Kelly inspired mini bag for a fraction of the price. Personally, I would be hesitant to buy a rip-off of small business, but for the bigger brands I don’t mind so much, just like *eudupe* . Also I am not in Hermès target audience so it’s not like I’m taking money away from them.

I sewed a origami bento bag from a pattern I found online. I unpicked the stiches on old jeans legs, sewed them together. The bag turned out really well. If the house caught on fire, I'd leave behind more expensive bags and save the origami bento bag.

Hey Sophie, I think I’ve already mentioned this to you before, but it’s still very relevant today: the sheer amount of knockoffs and their high quality kind of takes the fun out of the experience. As for the Dior bag, I’ve also stopped using it as a travel bag. First of all, it’s way too heavy for me, and dragging it around for hours between airports is no fun. Plus, it doesn’t have a zipper or any way to close it, and I don’t like that my belongings are exposed - it’s too easy for someone to grab something out of it. Regarding the Atelier Auguste bag, I actually have three of their bags, and one of them is more refined than the others. As for Senreve - great bag. I had it, only that non of the size was good for my needs and it was heavy' also the top handle was not so comfortable

Recently I was at a bagel place ordered my bagel with eggs and while they were making it I went to prepare my coffee. Out of no where this man comes up to me and yells me out loud you look great with your Goyard tote bag and I glance and the line of people waiting to put in their order turned to look at me. Longchamp is my Go To brand for bags at the moment, their leather bags are beautiful and affordable and if you need something indestructible to take to the zoo with your toddler the "Le Pliage"-line is really amazing for that. Polene also has pretty bags, got 3 of them and like their quirky designs.

I’ve been on some fabulous holidays, Thailand, Bali, Vietnam, India to name a few, wonderful family memories, do I have any of these memories with any bag I bought, absolutely not. I’m with you on designer bags, overpriced and over faked, I’d prefer a good quality bag without any obvious logo.

Love Coach, Dooney and Bourke and Portland Leather every bit as much as the much more expensive designer brands, if not more. Not only do you not have to worry about safety as much, but you also don't have to be quite so concerned about damage either. The crochet bags are so cool! I think priorities have changed a lot over the past year or two and people are realizing what a rip off a number of designer items are.

I totally agree - fakes have cheapened many 'designer' bags/brands...... Good on you for decluttering and reducing your bag collection - more money towards your retirement from full-time work!

I just don't understand why people are obsessed with buying such expensive bags. Fashion companies are laughing all the way to the bank! I don't blame people for buying fakes, the bags are so expensive, I have been tempted. In *eudupe* stores,after all, the fakes are much cheaper than what I can afford, such as Chanel. I would feel happy this way. It makes more sense and I didn't waste my money anyway.

Whether it is *eudupe* or any other product, I firmly believe that only practitioners can detect the difference in the appearance of the bag or the metal composition. *eudupe* is really a perfect choice.

I bought a large Senreve after watching one of your older videos on them and loved it for school, the closure strap on the front is tearing away from the front of the bag slightly :( I bought it on sale so I cannot return, but I do believe it is from using the laptop pocket inside the bag and wouldn't suggest doing that. I did get the Cornetti bag 60% off (my bf got it for me for Christmas) as it came back online all the sudden and I love it! I would prefer a longer chain though. The cream shade is darker than online but it's a cute bag and I am only going to use it for events. I have Coach and Kate Spade as well but I feel you need to inspect them in person for quality.

I honestly have never seen the appeal of LV bags. To me they feel hard and like plastic. Also, the only women I’ve ever seen carry them are nouveau riche or tourists. I don’t want to walk around with a target on my back because of my bag.

Got rid of my Guccis, Fendi, LV, and Chanel. I buy what I like and don’t’t care about labels. Brahmin and Dooney & Bourke are beautifully made and don’t cost a fortune.

I previously spent over $80,000 on auth. I regret it very much and wish I knew about high quality repliacas earlier so that I could save a lot of money. I have purchased over 7 bags from *eudupe* and really can't tell the difference between them. I even sold some auth bags and bought more repliacas from them

I love this video, Sophie.❤I think you're absolutely right ~ so many reasons to look for alternatives. They're not considered chic, but I love the quality for the money of Dooney & Bourke bags, especially the Florentine collection. Many Dooney bags are much lighter weight these days & they're quite beautiful. A great choice IMO.😍🌻

I am loving Strathberry, such a good price point, extremely well made and lovely designs, also the Cambridge Satchel Company are very good value for money, but I won’t be parting with my vintage Chanel and Dior bags. I think vintage really has such style and you don’t often find copies of true vintage bags. I was brought up by parents who saved to have the very best, Mum always had hand stitched bags that were specifically made, jewellery from Mappin and Webb, and all her stuff was looked after with such care but was also worn daily.

You can get insert/organisers with zips for extra security with open bags. I was outraged, but not at all surprised by the Dior situation. I don't like fakes but I am not worried by similars, apart from the worker conditions. Thank you for them video! There are two Australian brands worth trying, XNihilio and Oroton, if you can track them down in the UK. Also, Maison de Sabre, whose bags I have not yet bought, but they are lovely. A friend has one, so impressive!

I bought a Maison de Sabre..I love the soft leather. Its a little smaller than I thought but I love it and use it in summer months out to dinner. Dooney is a well made bag forever lasting.

Hi, Sophie.❤ I only carry London/UK brands, and my absolute favorites are Katie Loxton and Dune. Also not being in London, I have a serious weakness for Harrods handbags. (I was just cheated by a seller on Poshmark for a Harrods London Charms crossbody in red. A gorgeous bag I've waited weeks for, and still haven't been shipped to. I've filed complaints and everything.) I love the Speedy and the Chanel classic flap and HMQE's Launer bags are so beautiful and remind me so much of the Dune handbags. I also love Strathberry and Mulberry. Strathberry is out of my price range, but I do have a couple Mulberry bags when they did a collab with Target. Speaking of replicas, you want to know a brand that has lost all panache for fakes? COACH. Oh, it's awful. And it's not even like Coach is all that expensive or hard to buy. There are outlet stores all over America, and I imagine in the UK. Even used ones at second hand stores. I only have problems with fakes when the seller is trying to dup the customer. Selling a bag for 30 bucks on a street corner or at a market stall is one thing, selling a dup as authentic for 3k is another thing and is criminal.

Thank you for your video Sophie. After watching Tanner Leatherstein, I am looking into Crush and Strathberry. I was going to buy a Saint Laurent bag to treat myself for hard work, but after watching him I decided not to. Cannot part with my hard earned money for something not worth it. I am also interested in Ateliers Auguste. Many in youtube recommend it and they look good.

I bought 2 bags from Alexis Bittar last year. He has really good sales and the quality is great. I love his jewellery too. My kids bought me a Songmont Luna bag for Christmas, I love the versatility of it.

I'm just enjoying the more basic things I have and continuing to shop secondhand. The style I wear day to day is changing (intentionally) and as a result things I've collected no longer suit me. I also have lately started a new job. I have a particularly concerning colleague who enjoys the same brand I'm looking to remove from my wardrobe. Seeing the sort of individual that i believe might be the target customer for the brand every day at work and how sneaky and strange they are has put me off what used to be my favorite. I still enjoy looking at and discussing luxury but I think for my own peace of mind I'd rather not ever buy most of it. I still want an Off-White bag as it fits the aesthetic I'm going for still, but I wouldn't mind if I never saw another YSL, Chanel or Dior offline again tbh. The way Dior not only has production issues and their makeup has lately started to bother my skin... The whole space feels pointless with the cost of living crisis most people face.
