In America, the reason why there are so many non voters is because a lot of the states are locked in a party base. If you have a different opinion than your states color, you might as well not vote at all. There is the valor in standing ip for what you believe in, but the notion that that vote matters isn’t true at least in the U.S. election cycle. Personally, I’m in this situation. I want to vote for another candidate, but my state has already decided that my vote won’t be seen before it’s even cast.

I’ve never voted in my life and I’m not gonna start now. Because I hate countries. And I hate peer pressure. Edit: 1: I should elaborate that I hate countries because they are just job placement programs for the politicians who invent them. We are essentially all tax slaves paying their wages. 2: Voting doesn’t make any real difference. If it did then we would all see the results of the promises made by the politicians who make them to win us over. 3: I’ve heard all the opinions and I don’t care about them. They don’t encourage me to vote because it’s all part of the problem. 4: I’m not looking to make politicians angry or happy. I just don’t care about them because they are all liars and egotistical idiots who care only about money. Even the smaller ones with smaller parties. There’s no such thing as a “better politician”. They are all equally bad and untrustworthy. Some more so than others. So I have no incentive to vote for any of them. And voting in itself is just making the problem worse. Edit edit: 1: When has there ever been a candidate that’s any better then the others? In fact when has electing ANY candidate ever created real change? I think it was Mark Twain who once said if voting ever made any real change then we wouldn’t be allowed to do it. It’s a scam. A falsehood. It’s there to make you think you’re in a democracy. I live in the UK and the PM is elected by other members of the parliament. Not by the people 2: If it wasn’t war time in Ukraine would Zelenskyy be a good president? The only reason he’s in favour is because he’s seen as a hero against Putin. Thats all. But how do wars start? They are started by those in power and are used to make money. That’s why there’s no sign of a resolution to the conflict. 3: Literally every election is seen as “the most important”. But I don’t see why I should join in when I know it’s a waste of time and I have no trust in any candidate. Why should I join in with the rest of the herd and play this silly game? PS: Pretty sure after this election nothing is going to “get right” in your country whatever that means. Because like I said, nothing really changes. It’s just more of the status quo.

I don't disagree with you, but the reality is we live in a country and voting is our one chance to try and make a difference. Peer pressure sucks too - do what you want to do. But sometimes hearing conflicting opinions can open your mind up to other options. Think about this - politicians LOVE a love voter turnout cos it means their power is less split up by votes for small parties. Want to piss politicians off? Vote for smaller parties and encourage your friends and family to do same thing - and at the same time you will be helping the smaller politiciaisn you vote for, who are probably a lot better than the ones in power :-)

The problem of course friend is that continuing to bother with a system that refuses to change, and demonstrates countless times that it doesn't care about us, is only serving to waste our time seeing how our votes have absolutely no power if we aren't wealthy. So no, I will continue to never vote, and be even happier that I canceled my voter registration.
