The problem of course friend is that continuing to bother with a system that refuses to change, and demonstrates countless times that it doesn't care about us, is only serving to waste our time seeing how our votes have absolutely no power if we aren't wealthy. So no, I will continue to never vote, and be even happier that I canceled my voter registration.

In America, the reason why there are so many non voters is because a lot of the states are locked in a party base. If you have a different opinion than your states color, you might as well not vote at all. There is the valor in standing ip for what you believe in, but the notion that that vote matters isn’t true at least in the U.S. election cycle. Personally, I’m in this situation. I want to vote for another candidate, but my state has already decided that my vote won’t be seen before it’s even cast.

It's true because of electors systems (48 states do this), and the highly populated states that "count." In my state, I could literally vote for Mickey Mouse, and I'd effect the outcome just the same as if I voted for whomever this corrupt government deems as a viable candidate. I already know that this is a blue state, always has been, and likely always will be. I also know that the electors represent 1 of the 2 major parties, who don't represent the biggest voting block of America; the independent voters. I'm nearly 60, and as long as I can remember, both parties have done everything in their power to keep candidates who belong to a 3rd party out of the race. They'll destroy your reputation. They'll get you arrested. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they would assassinate you. If you belong to the biggest voting block of eligible voters but the system is rigged against your independent candidate, THEN YOUR VOTE QUITE LITERALLY DOESN'T COUNT. One doesn't even have to know all of this to know your vote doesn't count. Nobody could explain how in 2016, when America's left-leaning voters were picking their Democratic presidential candidate, how Bernie was filling stadiums to overflowing on the regular when campaigning, but Hillary couldn't fill a high school gym, yet somehow, she became the Democratic presidential candidate. After it was too late and, to the shock of the DNC, the left media, and everyone else who did everything they could to rig the campaign so that the oligarchs choice, Hillary Clinton, would win, we ended up with Donald Trump instead. It came out after it was too late that the DNC head, Debbie Wasserman Schultz had done everything in her power to undermine votes going towards Bernie Sanders, whom many believe to this day, would have won against Donald Trump had he not been sabotaged. Wasserman Schultz was fired in disgrace, but in true corrupt American fashion, Hillary gave her a new position, and she received zero prison time. I attended the caucus in my state and watched the diversion in action. Many of us were so furious, we nearly rioted. They brought in the local press, I can only assume, to keep control over the ghastly situation. So, you see, my vote doesn't count. If I had a way to make a wager, I'd bet you every dollar I ever made in my life that Joe Biden, or whomever the DNC picks if he dies or if his dementia gets much worse, will be who the electors in this state pick. Winner takes all.I will always remember this woman back in the 80s or 90s who was touted as having the highest I.Q. of anyone in the world. It was in the 200s. I don't remember her name, but she was an attractive brunette married to a man who had invented a version of the artificial heart and whose genius I.Q. was "only" in the 160s. The interviewer asked her if the rumor was true that she didn't vote. She answered, "Yes. I don't vote." He was visibly shaken and asked her why, "She grinned and said it was because she understood the voting system in this country."

I’ve never voted in my life and I’m not gonna start now. Because I hate countries. And I hate peer pressure. Edit: 1: I should elaborate that I hate countries because they are just job placement programs for the politicians who invent them. We are essentially all tax slaves paying their wages. 2: Voting doesn’t make any real difference. If it did then we would all see the results of the promises made by the politicians who make them to win us over. 3: I’ve heard all the opinions and I don’t care about them. They don’t encourage me to vote because it’s all part of the problem. 4: I’m not looking to make politicians angry or happy. I just don’t care about them because they are all liars and egotistical idiots who care only about money. Even the smaller ones with smaller parties. There’s no such thing as a “better politician”. They are all equally bad and untrustworthy. Some more so than others. So I have no incentive to vote for any of them. And voting in itself is just making the problem worse. Edit edit: 1: When has there ever been a candidate that’s any better then the others? In fact when has electing ANY candidate ever created real change? I think it was Mark Twain who once said if voting ever made any real change then we wouldn’t be allowed to do it. It’s a scam. A falsehood. It’s there to make you think you’re in a democracy. I live in the UK and the PM is elected by other members of the parliament. Not by the people 2: If it wasn’t war time in Ukraine would Zelenskyy be a good president? The only reason he’s in favour is because he’s seen as a hero against Putin. Thats all. But how do wars start? They are started by those in power and are used to make money. That’s why there’s no sign of a resolution to the conflict. 3: Literally every election is seen as “the most important”. But I don’t see why I should join in when I know it’s a waste of time and I have no trust in any candidate. Why should I join in with the rest of the herd and play this silly game? PS: Pretty sure after this election nothing is going to “get right” in your country whatever that means. Because like I said, nothing really changes. It’s just more of the status quo.

I don't disagree with you, but the reality is we live in a country and voting is our one chance to try and make a difference. Peer pressure sucks too - do what you want to do. But sometimes hearing conflicting opinions can open your mind up to other options. Think about this - politicians LOVE a love voter turnout cos it means their power is less split up by votes for small parties. Want to piss politicians off? Vote for smaller parties and encourage your friends and family to do same thing - and at the same time you will be helping the smaller politiciaisn you vote for, who are probably a lot better than the ones in power :-)

I'm not sure the makers of this video really understand how U.S voting works. We are not a direct democracy. Votes are totaled by county and are winner takes all. Then counties are totaled by state and in most states winner takes all. only then are the state delegates counted for the purpose of the primary election. Due to gerrymandering and voting district redrawing I would realistically expect 60-80% of votes to genuinely not matter as far as the outcomes of presidential elections go.

100% agreed… think you've nailed it… but one can still dream! If a big app or a municipality did a trial run to show people what the benefit could be… that might get people to get on board once they realise the benefits. So… I'm not holding my breath but I going to keep sowing the seeds to see if anything can sprout :-)

Industry, schools, govt etc also have to be involved in this, obviously. If it's mostly industry then why do we have loadshedding through the night? My point is - would you rather have total darkness 2-3 times a day, or would you rather TRY to get everyone to work together to TRY and reduce the amount of loadshedding we have to suffer? Seems to me that South Africans love to complain without doing anything about the situation.

I believe someone is missing the point. Under the bridge or under a hedge, in a tunnel is the same thing. When you enhance and reinforce where they are squatting, they will remain there, much to the annoyance of local residents and businesses.

I've been going to the service dining rooms for the past two years (2021-2022) since I've found myself homeless due to lockdown... Honestly the food isn't nearly as "nutritious" as they would like to make it out to be, for the most part it's rice and gravy. Sometimes they prepare rice and pasta together with sauce over. Never any vegetables or meat! Karin and her staff treat the homeless like garbage, shouting and scolding and even with holding food on several occasions or refusing to serve certain individuals who don't tolerate their rudeness. Once you do receive your food, you must sit on the side of the road and it! No dignity involved there. The past two months since writing this, they even charge the homeless a R2 fee p/meal. If you don't have you don't eat. R2 may sound like nothing, but when you have NOTHING R2 is ALOT. and not always so easy to obtain especially on the daily! I don't go there anymore for meals because firstly the food isn't even worth the effort and because of their continued I'll treatment of those in need! We are still human beings. Please treat us with some dignity and kindness. 🙏🏻

It is indeed good that you give half of your salary to the less fortunate... but know this... you're not suppose to mention it in public or to anyone for that matter. The Bible says that your right hand should not know what your left hand does. You have your reward already... btw... those are good works and you want recognition for it. Your good works are as filthy rags in God's sight. I pray that you'll recommit your life to the Lord... just as you've served Him , the way your 'conservative' parents have raised you.

He is very good, in terms of some of his views on education, but very arrogant in the way he comes across. He was assigned as a mediator in a crises at Dut in the early 2000s I was part of the staff at time when he addressed us in a meeting. I was disturbed by his very unprofessional manner when he confronted a fellow staff member by literally shouting at him for seeking classification on an issue discussed. The comments below seem to indicate otherwise.
