They're not that closed. There are tourists there altough I believe they have gone lengthy administrative works and whatnot. International presence like here in the Olympics I think is necessary for NK. It may serve as a political move to show their capabilities and competitiveness against what they believe as their enemies (SK, the US, etc) I also think how the event could influence their athletes in some way or give them some new perspective about other countries. They are subject to a lot of propaganda and brainwashing, but I think there's still some human sense of belonging in them to connect to other people. The South and North Korean table tennis teams took a selfie in the podium the other day, and I think that's sweet

Every single thing u said in the video is true about every country in the World. Like Usa doesnt use sports to keep people cheering or something. Literally every single thing u said is done in every single country. With the only Difference being that the DPR Korea is achieving everything while also being the most sanctioned country

As far as I know, the US doesn't have federal sporting programs to keep people cheering. Sporting events aren't part of politics for propaganda reasons. That's the main difference.

@@carmenl163 yeah right, your sports dont keep the people sleeping on all the problems, only the bad communists do that *the bad communists that you bombed 50% of their country and killed 10% OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION 70 years ago

Beetlejuice is who you got for your North Korean expert? Insane. Dude was tripping, making Radio Free Asia garbage up. Last place I'd look for an expert on North Korea would be in Seoul.

I wonder if North Koreans who are competing are able to ask and talk to other people from other countries. Are they free to do so, partially, or are they restricted?

I'd wager they don't let their athletes stay in the Olympic Park but shuttle them away to their hotels after the events. Would love to be wrong on that though.

The moment Hong Yong Ja appeared on screen, I paused the video, laughed so hard I cried, then decided I can't finish the video because I can't take him seriously.
