@@deleted836 The person is young trans woman from the United States of America, probably born as a male, transitioned into a female, and this person says she is an "expert" in North Korea athletics all while studying in South Korea. A lot of foreigners may choose old-sounding names because they are reading from a textbook, and the textbook may lean traditional. The un-prettyness is probably so because the person has chosen the name without consultation from native Korean speakers. The guy probably just chooses the name solely from the Hanja or something, while native speakers will analyze a name based on Hanja meaning and sound.

@@randomname9758not really. A degree like that would be very useful for a person who wants to go into the foreign service/diplomacy or who wants to work for one of the big “think tanks.” With a PhD, this person could also become a professor. And since this person probably speaks fluent Korean and has studied at a Korean university, they could probably become a professor in Korea if they don’t want to work in one of the Western countries. Any country that needs to train their diplomats on North Korean affairs would consider hiring someone with a degree in it. Who knows, maybe this person could also become a spy or fbi agent 😂 their appearance is not what I’d expect given their credentials and field of study

It may sound dumb, but I'm very confused about something I keep seeing documentaries, news etc saying North Korea is closed, don't let strangers in and don't let it's people out even if it means they starve to death And at the same time I keep seeing stuff where North Korea people go out of the country, like here for the Olympics, or make ads for tourists to come to the capital. I'm very very confused, if someone can explain to me, It would be awesome

Certain people are given permission for a trip, diplomats, athletes, trade delegates, contract workers in China etc. they have their passports confiscated and handed back to them for the trip there and back only.
@rexygama7697
@rexygama7697 4 ай бұрын
They're not that closed. There are tourists there altough I believe they have gone lengthy administrative works and whatnot. International presence like here in the Olympics I think is necessary for NK. It may serve as a political move to show their capabilities and competitiveness against what they believe as their enemies (SK, the US, etc) I also think how the event could influence their athletes in some way or give them some new perspective about other countries. They are subject to a lot of propaganda and brainwashing, but I think there's still some human sense of belonging in them to connect to other people. The South and North Korean table tennis teams took a selfie in the podium the other day, and I think that's sweet
