Why Norwegian Prima SHOCKED Me On Embarkation Day!

Have you sailed on Norwegian Prima yet? Were you as shocked at how beautiful the ship is as I was?

Full disclosure: we are fully Prima fans--we've spent more cruise days on this ship than any other in the last 2 years. BUT...we both believe it's really a warm-weather ship. Outdoor spaces are *so* critical to this ship handling its passenger capacity that I have to imagine it's a very crowded ship indoors when the outdoor spaces are not really used. We would *highly* recommend this ship on Caribbean or Mediterranean cruises--we *especially* love hanging out on Ocean Boulevard on port days--but would probably look elsewhere for colder climate cruises. Nevertheless, appreciate your always thorough, well-balanced and thoughful review, Zach!

I was on the Prima 8/25 through 9/4 of this year. We left from Southampton and finished in Reykjavik (the opposite itinerary of this video). Obviously, it was a cold weather cruise. For the most part, we did not find the ship to crowded. The Penrose atrium was very busy on the evenings, but I thought that added to the energy. The music was great and people were dancing on all three decks! I agree with most reviews that the comedy club and Syd Norman's are too small and we're hard to get in to, but the comedian and the Rumors show both performed at least one night in the main theater where seating was easier to obtain.

Completely agree. Did a 7 day Bermuda cruise on Prima last year. I can't imagine being on this ship in cold weather. The outside spaces make the ship

We did this cruise one year ago at the end of June 2023, it was awesome! The Prima is an interesting ship, I personally think it's better designed for warmer weather as it can get crowded indoors on cold days with everyone congregating around. Indulge Food Hall is a great addition which helps take some of the stress off the buffet. I loved Palomar too, wonderful food! Hope you enjoyed the cruise.

We just got off the Viva 2 weeks ago. It looks exactly like the Prima. I was at the Indulge soft serve ice cream machines every day! 5lbs later...😂 We got lucky on the ship selection for our 1st cruise. WOW! Gotta cruise again.

That inside solo cabin looks really nice, especially the bathroom! Love the huge farmhouse sink and rainfall shower. Is there a deck camera you can view on the television, to let you know what the weather is doing outside?

I love that Studio Lounge. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it’s better than the Haven lounge. There was no coffee or food in the haven. Only a full service bar. I’d have preferred the convenience of the Studio Lounge 💯. Love your channel by the way. Great videos!

Great viog. I sailed NCL for the 1st time on the Viva in April in a solo studio cabin out of San Juan (7 ports). I loved the cabin, lounge and so activities. Had to upgrade to FAS plus to get bottled water and unlimited wifi. Food Republic was my favorite specialty restaurant. Onda and Palomar were ok. Loved the Indulge food hall and ocean Blvd. Venues and pool were very small.

Pretty sure if you don’t pre-upgrade the WiFi from the 150 mins or whatever you get from Free at Sea, they offer heavy discounts once you are onboard.

I have never had to book entertainment reservations on NCL before. I don't remember being offered the option, either. I have had issues with WiFi access on all NCL ships and the Internet Cafe staff have told me on all NCL cruises at various times that they were having problems and I've even gotten refunds. WiFi on NCL is just obscure.

Given the lack off darkness, perhaps the inside cabin is the way to go🤷 going on Appex in a through weeks, so will be watching your review of her before boarding to help get my bearings. The Prima looks a nice ship 👍

I really want to sail on the Prima/Viva/new Aqua ships! I have only been on Breakaway and Breakaway Plus class ships so far. I'm sorry that you had a meh experience at Onda. It was SO good on the Encore, and they are known for their homemade pasta.
