I didn't use AMS Vans for my wheelchair accessible van but I do like your videos. Informative and not outdated.

We appreciate that! And we're glad that you enjoy them! We had a lot of fun making this one, especially!

This is very informative. I have a friend who has a non medical transport service with full size wheelchair equipped vans, and he's considering minivans for this purpose. For those who think that they are "over exaggerating", you might want to consider the liability that those who do this commercially. It's not worth the risk. All it takes is just ONE person to get injured, and they are ruined.

Excellent video. I've been looking for a van that could lock down two wc's traveling together. This really helps me to understand the features. So glad to see how the seatbelts work! Y'all are great!!!

I'm not paying for $20,000 for a wheelchair ramp though
@AMSVans5 жыл бұрын
Hi DBB. The prices you see on our inventory webpages are for the wheelchair van -- that's lowered-floor conversion for a comfortable ride + safety tie-down points, + ramp, + minivan.

You're right about lack of affordability with wheelchair accessible vehicles
@AMSVans5 жыл бұрын
Hi @@terrylounge. AMS Vans currently has about 3 dozen wheelchair vans under $30K, including 11 under $20K. We accept trade-ins and offer financing. We also have a For Sale By Owner Classifieds section of our website with some more choices at a broad range of prices.

I had my 2016 Town n Country van sent to Freedom Mobility to have the long channel auto Kneel ramp installed. It came back 2 months later. $20,900. I didn't get anything except a faulty dangerous van. It's now 8 months later and they have not fixed it. It's a short cut, and I'm the driver, the rear does not lower. No Kneel system. And trying to stand and twist to get into the driver's seat is causing damage to my shoulders and back. Their answer ... can't fix it. I am paying $400 a month for my van and insurance and can't use it. Stay with AMS or any company that will guarantee, in writing, their completed to satisfaction before you pay. This is very expensive and unusable. This began Jan 4, 2017 and a lawyer is my only solution now.

That's cute but some folks just want to load and carry the EMPTY wheel chair or scooter LOL

We mention that in the video. The portable ramps we demonstrate (and also sell) are great for that purpose. Thanks for watching!

I'm still looking for a side-entry lift that can fit in the tight parking spaces. (Not the Swing-Away) I would like to see a lift that has the safety barriers that come down, not just in front, but on both sides, in case the parking is tight. (I'm not talking about a ramp.)

But some can't afford a lowered floor van like that
@AMSVans7 жыл бұрын
True, and we can't prevent folks from doing what we demonstrate above with the portable ramp -- we just want to emphasize it's unsafe (and uncomfortable) for someone to ride in a wheelchair in an unconverted minivan without proper tie-downs, etc. Be careful out there! For customers shopping for a wheelchair van who might need a little financial help, AMS Vans takes trade-ins, and offers financing thru banks who know how to work within the accessible vehicles industry.

One day I'll be able to get that setup 👍🏻

you are overly exaggerating... it is not that hard.. but obviously you are not trying to help people save money.. you are trying to convice them that they should pay you for your services....
@AMSVans6 жыл бұрын
What's not that hard? Please check out earlier discussion threads here if you're suggesting wheeling an occupied chair into an unconverted van with no tie-downs. Plus, it's not as much about any difficulties as it is about your passenger's safety. And comfort. Shopping elsewhere is fine -- just secure your wheelchair passenger properly!

AMS Vans i rent a minivan once in a while.. its usually a caravan, voyager, town & country... i have a ramp i bought for some stairs.. i use them both.. its the easiest thing in the world.... i have done it from the sides and the rear... with a 105 year old person on the chair who screams if theres any discomfort..... but no... i watched u do this and it was obvious you were trying to make it seem alot harder than it really is... you are bad actors...

As far as our acting skills go, we're great wheelchair van manufacturers! What safety securements do you use for your loved one and their chair as they ride in it?

AMS Vans same straps i would use to strap down a motorcycle in the back of a pick up truck or a flatbed... 4 of them...

Just how stupid do you think people are ? You fold down the back row of seats put what ever ramps you have in through the back doors and put the wheelchair in through the back door. My husband does this with a 120 kg electric wheel chair all the time. My husband ties the wheel chair down to the

NJSMKMMS, 60 seconds into the video, Dan says you can use a portable ramp to wheel a chair into an unconverted vehicle, but not with somebody in it. As you say, the chair would be secured in the back and the passenger would transfer to an original seat. Thanks for your comments!
