You have to mention the mods. Heroes 5.5, Horn Of The Abyss, Wake Of Gods. Thats what kept heroes alive for so many years. There are still many people playing the older games. Heroes 3 the board game collected almost 10 mil euros just from kickstarter. HOMM franchise is alive and well its just stuck in the past. Really hopeful that Olden Era brings it to the new age

This was truly fantastic I love the effort of creativity on your part. you could have just streamed from a webcam and broke the news but that was art. I started my own channel over a decade ago (name inspired too) to share cutscene footage from Heroes 5. Lousy footage from a consumer grade camera propped on top of a bookshelf from across the room because all the screen capture software ruined the beauty of the game with a watermark

Brings back lots of memories. I first started playing when HOMM2 was released and never stopped until HOMM5. I even liked HOMM4, but it was too different. We used to laugh at a single Barbarian hero kicking Black Dragons to death. Then I discovered the HOMM2 "In the Wake of Gods" and I was playing again. Great Video. Unfrozen, great job so far. Just one think : I know the fans are divided on HOMM4, but I hope the approach for the coming game does'nt totally wipe it out. They were great things in HOMM4 : one of the best OST of the whole series, and a real magic in the adventure map, very reminiscent for me, in a modernized way, of the magic in HOMM2 adventure map. It was so rich in details, the sound effects were amazing, and the alchemy with the music was perfect. If Olden Era can find that magic again, I would be sooo glad.

Oh man, the nostalgia. Probably an unpopular opinion, but HoMM IV was actually my favorite. I enjoyed the different mechanics, like being able to move armies without heroes, but even more than that were the campaigns. The stories and the characters were just so well-written, especially the Order faction's Emilia Nighthaven, which your outfit reminded me of.

The fan mods played an important role indeed, especially both for homm 3 and 5. I own AOW shadow magic and had tried it a little, and also AOW 3 and could not get into that yet. I need to revisit those games. For Songs of Conquest I have a very good feeling since my initial gameplay with it was very positive.

I think the best innovation in homm 4 was that the heroes took to the field. Defeating armies with a group of only heroes added the classic crpg atmosphere. That's why I still think homm4 is a great game. homm3 and homm5 were already great games. I had lost hope with homm6. After all these years, I'm now starting to worry about the new homm game. I mean, I didn't even like the visual style. So, games that reflect the anime line are not for me. Despite this, I will buy the game just to be able to hear Romero's music again. It's really important for the game to be released in early access. Just as players shaped bg3, players should shape the new homm game. I just heard about this game and I'm following it now.
