Hey Rich we agree! Our thought is maturity increases tactical and strategic awareness and way improved risk mitigation.

I agree, Rich. When I was younger, it was all about speed and power. When I got older, it was all about comfort and relaxing. I will never leave the Gold Wing community. The older we get, we just have an entirely different view on riding.

Correct about older riders who started riding late in age (40-50's). Our daughter started riding in her 30s. However, she is very safe because she knows how we ride.

@@BootsandJeansRiders You guys have been a great mentor to her as you are to us all. That makes a difference. A lot of young riders may just lack the maturity to acknowledge the dangers affiliated with this sport or passion. Thanks for what you and Kake promote. Thanks for watching.

Love Rich’s throttle therapy! I wanna hear about the Track Day! When you find responsible riders hold onto them. Riders who respect the sport by dressing for safety, speed appropriate for the conditions and group they are riding with & if everyone is wearing a headset, communicating with each other about road conditions. Great video Rich, thank you.
@richthereturnrider67372 ай бұрын
@@roadglide Yeah RG. Folks have to assess risk vs rewards. We can advocate for all the safety concerns. Older riders seem for the most part to be more receptive. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Interesting. Just last week I asked Brian of MCRiders to do a video on the statistics of older riders vs younger riders. My gut tells me that we are safer, but I'd love to see some numbers from an insurance company. I'm 74 and didn't ride at all until I was 58. My father was a motorcycle cop in the early 1950;s and wasn't a big fan of motorcycles. But at age 58 when I started riding he had no objections, only envy. That told me a great deal.

@@richardmourdock2719 Wow, very interesting. Our parents seem to know things we don’t. 58 was a prime time to start. I’m 60 and hope to be riding at 80. I also would like to see those stats. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I stopped writing in my early twenties because I felt I couldn't be safe enough due to some close calls. Now that I am 60 I started writing again and I'm super safe and can afford gear. I enjoy writing so much. Unfortunately living in Iowa the cold has set in and writing days are few now.

@@jmc1771 Yeah. Grew up in New York, started riding in MD. The winters made me miserable. At 60 we are still in our riding youth. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
