I'm one of the people you mentioned who used to bash One Piece. I couldn't understand why it had been going on for so long and yet he still hadn't found the One Piece. After having watched it though I finally understood. After that my only regret was not watching it sooner. It would seem silly and dramatic to say it about almost anything else but One Piece stirred up a feeling in me that I haven't had since I was a little kid.

Literally any person well versed in Books, general literature and narrative critique, that actually read/watch One Piece, usually arrive at the same conclusion. For it's medium of Anime/Manga, One Piece is a Modern Odyssey, the LoTR of Anime, an actual masterpiece in writing. Whenever you see a person throw complaints, usually something along the lines of "Mid", complaining about stuff not being entertaining to their personal taste, having seen 2-3 episodes and dropped it and basically claims those 3 episodes are sufficient enough experience to claim the entire show is bad/boring, usually it's a person with zero to No knowledge on the former subjects mentioned in the first line. The complaints and Non-existent critiques that are in reality, just someone crying out their poor opinion, while trying to frame it as an objective critique, they all originate from a place of unknowledge. Their incompetence causes them to overestimate their own competence, which in a finer wording, is called the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Now, I know this comment will tick off these exact type of people, so it's kind of low-effort bait mixed with truth, just to see how many on this video alone got that Dunning-kruger in them. Now *one piece* of criticism about something you said in the video. Gear 5 is *Not* the most iconic transformation. It is certainly better written than Super Saiyan, but it's not more Iconic than Super Saiyan. Maybe that could happen in 20-30 years, but as long as One Piece airs, that ain't happening.

First of all one piece is FAR FROM PEAK, and I'll explain. 1:Fake out deaths, i mean SERIOUSLY their is little to no tention in this series what so ever and it's not even funny, everytime you believe s character has died (Pell, the skypieans, the Franky family, Saul, Kinemon, the 6 vegapunks) Oda is ALWAYS bringing them back no matter what. It just becomes predictable at this point because we KNOW nobody will die, and one piece fans always be complaining about when DB characters die, they just come back, but when Luffy dies and literally AWAKENS his fruit thats not a problem because it was "Foreshadowed" 2: Repetitive Arcs:Now now not all arcs follow the same plot, but the average one piece plot is:The straw hats go to an island, to take down the big bad guy, they meet friends, luffy starts fighting the bad guy and struggles, but then gets plot armor and comes victories, then they all have a massive party then leave the island, This type of plot has happened in Alabasta, Dressrosa, punk hazard, Wano and more, and if its not that, then its a "Go save buddy" arc 3: Terrible Villains: Most one piece villains are one dimensional people with little to no backstory, they are just evil and thats It. Such as kuro, Don krieg, Most of borouq works, Spandam, the celestial dragons, Big mom, hell even kaido is shit, all that build up for him just to be an underwhelming villain that just drinks and fights. Crocodile and Doflamingo are the only actually good one piece villains, they were intimidating, actually well written, and had good backstorys(Doflamingo) 4: Terrible pacing: Even in the the Manga the pacing has been shit, seriously egghead dragged and dragged with the Vega punk speech, and the five elders fight was really underwhelming and terrible, seriously these people were hyped up just to get their asses handed to even te weaker members of the straw hats, another reason why the pacing is bad is that most arcs overstay their welcome and have trash fights, such as dressrosa and even enies lobby. Shit enies lobby for the most part is just running around and trash fights such as nami vs kalifa, Franky vs fukaro, chopper vs kumadori, even Sanji vs jabra was shit. These fights in the series just love to drag and drag and its not even funny, we already know luffy will win anyway. 5:Too many ass pulls: Seriously why does this series has so many Ass pulls? Its just insane, first off, everytime luffy is in a very bad situation, he always gets saved by someone last minute such as luffy being posined and woah, ivonkov conveniently had the power to heal someone and oh when crocodile beat luffy, Robin decided to save him for no reason at all. And oh let's not forget about his gears. This guy literally just pulled them outta his ass or something, gear 2 literally came outta nowhere, as for gear 3 as well, and with gear 4, if he had this power up while he aas training, why didn't he use it against Hody jones and Creaser clown then? I don't wanna hear "Oh He DidN'T NeeD iT" okay? He literally could have easily finished them off if he went gear 4 instead of struggling with even gear 3. And lete not forget about gear 5, this has gotta be one of the biggest ass pulls in anime SERIOUSLY, Oh wow he awakened his fruit because he died and it turns out the gum gum fruit ISN'T infact the gum gum fruit, but the NIKA NIKA fruit, and now he has toon force like abilities?..... So if this is the nika nika fruit, how does having the power of rubber translate to a sun god fruit? And also Luffy should have known that it was called the Nik Nika fruit because it was stated in enines lobby that once you eat a devil fruit, you learn its name, so then how tf did luffy not know it was called the Nika Nika fruit? And also if the world government knew that Luffy had the Nika Nika fruit, they could have easily killed him earlier on in the series if he was such a "Big threat" to them. 6:Nika: Ever since luffy has obtained gear 5, why does everyone in the series just talk about Nika now? I can tell you right here a large chunk of Elbaf will just be the giants glazing Nika, and Robin and saul having a bare bones reunion. As you can see one piece has too many flaws to call it the "Greatest story ever told" or "Peak piece" the fans will just beg people to watch their show or hate on people who hate one piece ans think Naruto is better, seriously, its easy to tell that the only thing most one piece fans watch/Read is one piece.

Definetly has broken the internet, the warner bross animation was very cool. Iv'e seen people debating which transformarion is more iconic between MUI/UI and gear 5. In my honest opinion i think MUI and ui broke the internet and website for much longer than ep 1070 and 1071 as dbs 128-129-139-130-131-121 broke the internet everytime. Also i think that the only bad thing about the new episode is the pacinng of the fight. Ofc they only did 2-3 moves and just stopped, while in every dbs episodes i mentioned we could actually see how strong the new transformation was. We knew about gear 5 for months too...

speaking from experience of avoiding OP since i was a child and severely regretting it - my brother used to watch OP as a kid and i remember always leaving the room bc Luffy’s english voice annoyed tf outta me, and i was never interested in pirates. My last bf watched OP and i watch it w him here n there (those were the dressrosa, wci, and zou days). I enjoyed it then but never wanted to sit down & watch it. When the live action came out last summer, i thought id give it a try & i really loved it. so i sat my ass down to watch the anime, i caught up in January. annnnnddddd man, do i regret not getting into it sooner. i wish someone would’ve told me it’s a story of liberation and found family, i think that explanation would’ve peaked my interest instead of just some kid wanting to be pirate king. i’m mad at myself for not getting into it sooner. But, oh well im fucking here now and i’m obsessed w it. the story is great, the characters are so dynamic, the world building is incredible. fuck i wish there was more episodes 1000 is not enough 😭😭😭 now i gotta dive into the manga lol i think the episode amount is a reason against watching it tbh, but i don’t think it’s a valid criticism of the story as a whole. i think there are some valid criticisms of the story and writing, but most of the popular criticism are trivial. Anyhooo, i’m sold on OP it’s amazing, ima defend luffy til the day i die.

And im glad that you got into One Piece and yeh i agree with One Piece being long so for people who haven’t watched it could be turned off by that. But when people take a risk theyll come to find its actually worth taking. And i like to say watch anime for the enjoyment rather the length of its episodes. But again i understand some people ig dont have time but it wouldn’t hurt to dedicate a few episodes a day😅and same im buying the manga and will be buying all box sets mid May. And plan on binge reading all🙂‍↕️im aware of some major things due to spoilers but hopefully you can stay away from spoilers.

its so long, but the story definitely rewards you for keeping up. if after watching a good portion of it, someone doesn’t like it, that’s fine, but dont bash it just cause you didnt like it 🙄 when starting Op my intention wasn’t to catch up as fast as possible, the intention was to watch it at my own pace. But, once I got to impel down i HAD to binge it. The previous arcs were all great but i NEEEEEEDED to know if Luffy saved Ace. i knew at some point ace would die, but i wanted so badly to believe luffy would save him and that ace would die in some later arc. but damn was i so so wrong 😭😭 op did not turn out to be anything i expected. i thought it would be some ridiculous stupid ass story (yeah i was a hater 😅) (im so sorry Oda, im so sorry i hated before watching 🤕, i only played myself) it’s ridiculous at times, but it’s so much more. i like that it’s heavily political, it dives into philosophical themes such as what it means to be free, morality, the nature vs nurture debate, that people’s choices, actions and beliefs are a product of their circumstances and environment, and even if you’ve made some shit decisions, they don’t have to define you, you can choose to be better. it even explored the harms of colonization and how its detriments are still felt generations after. anyone who cares about their friends & opposes their oppressive government is great in my eyes. i could go on forever Lol anyways, im w ya, i just bought box set #1 w volumes 1-23, im excited to dive into em. i started the manga where the anime left off & i can’t wait for all these latest chapters to be animated!!!

He was still struggling with Kaido fight in g5 and he still has to fight Blackbeard, Akainu, 5 elders, and imu. Also every time his gear 5 runs out he's basically incapacitated so I don't think he's gonna low diff everyone in his verse. I mean he can certainly low diff MOST of the people in his verse now, but let's be real Oda ain't stupid he isn't afraid to show luffy on the losing end of a fight. I mean in Skypiea we saw him fight someone who literally could smite people from across the island. I had the same concerns coming out of skypiea, but bro got bodied in sabaody, Impel down, and marineford. We good homie just keep watching
