Simple: Bollywood story is full of vulgarity, nudity that no two family member can't watch the movie together. Where south movies connect with people and can be watched with everyone or anyone in family

There are many world class hollywood movies that have vulgarity and nudity. So world cinema and nudity are not exclusive to each other. So nudity is not the root cause of why Bollywood is not able to make world cinema

Not south, Telugu directors Edit: reason simply is telugu people are movie goers, so by default you have a market of 350 cr without pan india. Pan india gives them advantage to scale up

The South Indian audience has always been more matured than the North Indian audience. This gives the South Indian directors to work on different risky subjects. The North Indian directors are scared to take risks because they know the audience that they cater to are not that matured. South Indian films have always been technically superior than Hindi movies because of the subjects they make films on. Hindi movies are mainly love stories or police/criminal stories where basic story telling and technical expertise is required. Hindi films need to evolve and so do the audience. But a long way to go. Good video.

Completely agree. South movies were hugely taken into Hindi regional industry as a remake and enjoyed the success. And they never allowed the south movies to penetrative into hindi region with few exceptions like shankar or maniratnam films, they ensured they would only stay for a while. Thanks to corona which opened the hindi audience to witness the quality films from south and made them realized they were fooled all these years. Also, the bwood film makers successfully stereotyped south cinema and culture as a backward industry, funny part is even the IIT Delhi or IIT Mumbai students come to southern cities for tech jobs.. south is advanced in every aspect, we never really bothered about the barkings from them. Anyways South Industry(Kalki avatar) has risen to erase the dirt in our Holy land.

@@rationalbeing6797 Thanks to the pandemic people here in America are able to watch South movies, personally I was really surprised to see how directors take from traditions, culture, religions, myths , history to create their own kind of movies , and I still learning that Bollywood copied successful South movies and as is general knowledge has been copying Hollywood forever , currently in theaters the movie Kill as a Indian online writer says a healthy version of John Wick ( very successful Hollywood franchise ), is not healthy version to a movie where the main character is violence, to copy a movie brain is needed. 😀

Maybe because South directors are making world cinema , it is a good time to really come together all cinema industries in India to the global cinema , Kalki is an example that strides have been made , but more is needed. How in the world the 3D tickets are excluded from the box office numbers, the most expensive tickets do not count, unbelievable only in India, the standard globally is to include them in the gross, and the reason is films rarely get a 3D release India and nett remains the most important data for the Mumbai -based industry. This practice is completely unfair and really worthy of analysis because outside India other countries release 3D movies regularly, and for Indian moviegoers that pay the highest price for a ticket a disservice . Without audiences cinema cannot exist. 😀

Nag Ashwin is far superior than Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sanjay can't make movies like RRR, Bahubali. Nag Ashwin can make these kinds of films and also can make realistic movies. Sanjay Leela Bhansali couldn't make diverse films like Nag Ashwin.
