71 years old. Have refused many prescribed drugs and a few procedures after doing research. I continue to weight train followed by incline walking daily since age 18. I now have added daily intermittant fasting. I look around and people look unhealthy. Men with swollen stomachs, man breasts, and skinny dangling arms. I believe people are being farmed for profits from birth to premature death. Keep the information coming!

I was able to get my mother, who is presently 88 years old, on a low carb regime. She has been low carb for the last 5 years. She dropped 50 lbs. She has been T2D for 40+ years. She was able to get off all of her insulin and metformin. The last year her provider de-prescribed all of her blood pressure meds and cholesterol, and heart med. She is still taking Trulicity injection and L-thyroxin. I am questioning if Trulicity is actually helping or hurting her, as she has had ulcerative colitis. She also has Alzheimers, diagnosed in 2020.

Hi, I started taking cholesterol medication back in the early 90s and I was alright for awhile, then I started having slurred speech, funny things going on in my head and other things, and I thought I was having a stroke as they were stroke-like symptoms. The doctor had me have all sorts of tests and nothing showed up. I kept getting these symptoms off and on over the years and it concerned me, never thinking it could be the tablets. Then in around 2014 there was reason for me to believe that the tablets might be causing the problem, so I stopped taking them for awhile. There was such a huge improvement in my health that I could not believe, no more stroke like symptoms. Unfortunately, my doctor kept pushing me to go back on them eventhough I told her I was feeling a lot better. After six months I did, just to prove a point, and sure enough, all the symptoms came flooding back. Squilly noises in my head, squishing bubbly noises up the back of my neck, slurred speech, tired and so it went on. I stopped them immediately and I started to come back to normal. My doctor still thinks I should be taking them.

Before 2001, there were two schools of thought in the U.S.: 1. Never visit a doctor (or dentist), and you'll live longer. Or 2. The "experts" (professionals with capital letters after their names) went to school, so they know what's best. Extremely frustrating how most people just follow "doctor's orders" because it's easier.

Polypharmacy. Where they add a new drug but never remove one from the medicatìon list, many old peole are on over multiple different drugs per day! These drugs are never tested for interactions. I spoke with a european hospital pharmacist some time ago who was working on a study of the effects of polypharmacy. To get into the study, the patient had to be on over twenty five different medications per day! Naively I asked, 'is it difficult to find patients for the study'? No problem, their are thousands of them! If they come after you with the cortissol tablets, run for your life. I think this is their 'trojen horse' drug, once you're on that it generates so many other problems they can put their prescription pads on full auto!

Oh well… I’m going to be 65 on Sunday (26th May). I’m 100% ‘un-poisoned’ (no C19 vaccine). Although just last week I’ve refused taking statins, it looks like I may shortly have to go onto high blood pressure medication… but I’ve changed my eating/lifestyle habits and have now put myself on an intermittent fasting regime of one meal per day (started two weeks ago). I plan to do this for 12 weeks and then reconsider, dependant upon b.p. readings etc. I stopped gym training because of the stupid lockdown nonsense (everything was shut), and have since lost the mind-set for any training, although I do walk the dog daily and plan to start back at the gym next week. I’m on no other prescription medication apart from Terbinafine (started a couple of weeks ago) for these infernal fungal toenails. In the US most people over 65 will be on some type of Medicare plan which will limit who they can see. In addition, most MDs are under time constraints and not necessarily versed in geriatric medicine. Most over 65s who have not worked in medical research or the health care industry in general will not know (or necessarily care to read) how to interpret studies. Yes, people should "do their homework" but this is more and more difficult in our mis/dis information world. When in doubt the best bet would be to find a doc who specializes in geriatrics.

I am 73 and have had sleep problems for a decade. I have done all the non-medical things I can think of to address this problem including a cooler, darker bedroom and turning off electronic devices with screens an hour before bed. I have tried many "natural" products too. None seemed to work. About a month ago I tried an over-the-counter, time-release melatonin product. Finally, something that seems to work. The one problem I have had the last few weeks or so is waking up groggy for about an hour. I don't know if this is the medication or the result of being 73 and finally getting some good nights' sleep. I haven't had many of those before finding this medication so I'm not sure.

Have prostrate cancer, PSA went up at age of 77. I have been on Erleader tablets (four a day) and Eligard injection every three months. Severe side effects including sweating every three hours for about five minutes, muscle aches, seemed to be having some memory loss and also felt more emotional. PSA went down to 0.05 almost immediately and has been consistently around that figure. Impossible to get a really good nights sleep.. Stopped taking any medication in March been off them since much against the doctors wishes. PSA still remains low, side effects gradually subsiding. Feel 100% better. Just keeping a watch on my PSA level.

Wonderful talk, Dr Dhand. I'm from Wales, 65 years old. On two medications for anxiety. Low dose beta blocker (Propranolol) 40mg/day in divided doses of 10mg every 8 hours. Also Citalopram, lowest dose of 10mg/day. Mental health is the reason I'm on medication. As the pandemic unfolded I listened to Dr John Campbell, like him I was initially naive about Big Farma med interventions, eyes open now but not b4 3 gene therapy shots 😢 So happy to have found your channel where truth is spoken. I hope to cut down on my medication very gradually with my GP''s help. Listening to evidence based medical advice really helps reduce my anxiety! Enjoyed your other talk on this topic too, thanks so much for speaking out!

An excellent video. As someone who has lifelong avoided medication wherever possible, I was caught (age 79) by Shingles. The original meds for Shingles was not problematic, and I avoided painkillers. However, as pain levels increased I asked for relief. Big mistake! Seven months later still struggling with gut issues.

I'm 54. This is my conversation affirmed with a physician and gasterenterologist: "I understand now that your stomach cells are part of your esophagus due to acid reflux and the hernia, and that this issue has been progressively affecting your ability to swallow over the years. It sounds like it has been a challenging journey, especially with the complications stemming from the back accident and the subsequent discovery of your condition through various tests." Basically, I take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily in the morning. Otherwise, I will choke to death from not being able to swallow thoroughly after about 3 to 4 days, and also to help prevent any possible risk of esophageal cancer. Any knowledge and advice beyond this to share doctor?

At 64 I was given morphine in an emergency ambulance and had a respiratory arrest which took several hours on an infusion to reverse. I have severe side effects to all opioid type painkillers, amitriptiline and gabapentin type meds. I have no previous history of any type of drugs and take only Lansoprazole since the removal of my gallbladder. The only painkiller I feel safe to take is paracetamol, thank goodness at 70 I’m fit and healthy, and I work hard to stay this way.

Thank you Dr Dhand. I have been my mother's medical advocate for many years now. She is 88 years, has been T2D since her 40s. She had single bypass heart surgery at age 61. She has had high blood pressure, gallbladder surgery, IBS. Five years ago she began a low carb diet and IF. She lost 50 lbs. She was able to stop taking insulin and reduced her bp meds. More than 2 years ago her provider de-prescribed metformin and placed her on Trulicity. Last fall the provider de-prescribed her bp meds, statin drug, and heart med. She still takes L-thyroxin. I question whether that is doing anything. I also am questioning the Trulicity whether it's helping or hurting. She has some kidney failure and ulcerative colitis.

Seems like everyone I know or work with, most who are younger and a few older are constantly going to the doctor and are on constant medication of many kinds.
