This question is like buying a car. Brand new, top of the range Toyota, does everything you need. Powerful, comfortable, reliable. What more do you need? Well, what about a top of the range Lexus, for double the money? Do most people really need the Lexus? Same with these tablets, the Air is great for almost everyone. if you have money spare and you gotta have the best, get the Pro.

Best Buy has the 12.9 M1 Pro on sale for less than 500. It’s more than enough for most people despite being older.

Just go for m4 11 inch iPad Pro, it’s gonna give you amazing results and more importantly you will use it 5 years easily. Better display more storage, weight less just go for it

I had the old iPad Air than upgraded to m1 iPad Pro 12.9 inch about three years ago and I love the iPad Pro I use it more than my MacBook Air . IPad Pro is more money but it’s amazing and super fast and I have cellular as well which I think may add speed. I will probably go for iPad Pro 13 inch .. thanks for sharing but iPad Air is cheaper …

It's so bizarre that only the 2024 iPad Pro and Air have the ability to stop charging at 80%, to help preserve the lifespan of the battery. Why is this the case? Are previous iPads limited by hardware?

Best case there’s some chip on the battery that enables that kind of feature, worst case they’re just limiting it so there’s another reason you need to buy a newer iPad

Reviewers just don’t get it… generally. The only thing people go for is the nicer screen, really. The comparison is funny. Make the screen the same and people would go air all day.

yup its not nearly as powerful as any of these but its also way way more affordable like you can get one of those FE tablets with a 512gb sd card and still have money to survive

for apple uses ipad pro is better because of 120HZ OLED , for other users Samsung tab S9 Ultra is much better choice, 16:10 aspect ratio is great for media

I’ve got the 256 M4 iPad Pro (I get the newer models so I get security updates for longer) and I’m glad I did; I’m starting Uni in October and I do a lot of gaming on my tablets so this will definitely help me out

Still the best reviewer on KZbin! Does the M4 processing power make the need for more RAM less important? I need photoshop retouching power that my current iPad Pro 2nd gen with 3 gb RAM can’t do anymore. I can’t find an answer to that anywhere so far. The upgrade to a 34mp camera from 24 mp has made my retouching program Portrait Pro not work any more. I guess no one else’s knows either since no one so far has been able to help me. Thanks for your thorough reviews.

Very helpful review. The comment about how much a user needs all those Pro features rings true for me. It looks fabulous but do I need it. Not really. I’m upgrading from the previous Pro. More than anything I need more storage. Air 1TB looks good for me. Very good review.

So Air 13" 256gb+5g is £1,050, Pro 256gb+5g - £1,499 and upgrading to 512GB it's £1,699 (ouch!). I just won an M1 12.9" 512GB+5G on eBay in immaculate condtion for £570, that's a third of the price! - and it still has a very impressive ProMotion display, the same one you get on the 14" Macbooks, so it actually pairs better as an external display.

That depends on your budget and whether you want an Android tablet or not. I would go with the air since anything that you can do on the pro can be done on the air given the software. Tab S9 ultra is still an android tablet at the end of the day so yeah

I went for the 13 inch m4 Pro, it’s great but after 4 days I had to return it because the PwM affected my eyes so badly. 🥲 Had to get the 13 Air. Apart from no promotion the screen is actually better than my old 11inch LCD pro. Unless you use the power of the Pro for graphic intensive work then the Air is good enough. £1500 versus £950 for the cellular models is a big price difference.

I don’t like the battery life on my iPad Pro 12.9" M2, when i watch KZbin on it via Wi-Fi, the battery percentage melts before your eyes... Does the iPad Pro 13" M4 last longer when watching KZbin videos, Netflix, etc.? Or does it have the same battery life as the iPad Pro 12.9" M2?

Apple really know how to release just enough of a spec bump to reel people in who absolutely DON’T need a new iPad. I’m sure a lot of this tech was developed years ago, and could have been released, but they release these things piecemeal just to fleece consumers. I’m happy with my iPad Pro 3rd Gen 12.9 with the Magic Keyboard. I can do everything I need on it. If I’d believed the hype, I’d have spent about 4k by now on unnecessary upgrades. When something groundbreaking comes out, I might consider an upgrade. But generally I’ll stick to my trust 3rd gen until Apple release something that allows consumers to use their iPad like a desktop, i.e run *desktop* apps.
