I personally think that there are two most important questions 1. what do I desire..? 2. How can I fulfill my desire ? Because money is still an object/energy/power Yes I want to fly but how do I buy a glider..? And like everyone I know in my country’s flying community, they are all folks who are now doing all this after attaining their physiological needs as per Maslows pyramid.. but u can’t be spiritual on a hungry stomach with an Alan watts voice over..it’s a balance.. just like flying.. u can’t be a successful pilot if u are too risky or not risky at all, the answers are usually in the middle.. that’s what I took away from this, as I really hope I don’t meet the next generation of pilots all quiting their jobs and just flying.. I did that once, it’s a message I wanna carry forward, seek the right job which can support ur flying lifestyle, don’t quit ur job 😅

Agreed. The intended message of this video (our video) is not that everyone should give up their jobs - because for most that is not an option - but rather not to make making as much money as possible your top priority, because for most (almost everyone?) this doesn't bring true happiness. First, work out what would make you truly happy (not an easy question to answer correctly!) and then adjust your life to get yourself more on track with your goals, bit by bit. 😊

I grew up listening to Alan Watts and more recently made paragliding my passion so this video is brilliant. Also proud to say that I made some choices that are allowing me to have more time and resources to make the dream come true about flying the most breathtaking places of this breathtaking planet. …your concern is understandable, yet there are people who felt the call to learned to navigate fear and uncertainty and use it as fuel to explore that potential that not many had met within themselves and that’s ok. I am more afraid of dying of depression from knowing how much aliveness this kind of experiences bring to me, but it’s deeper than that; every time one faces the fear and uncertainty, specially of something as “unnatural” as flying and learn to recognize the power invisible forces that make it possible, one begins to attain a sensitivity that begins at the end of fear and a level of clarity in performance that very few things in this world can awaken. And then you see the world from that high and understand that sky isn’t the limit 😉✌🏽

What do you desire? What would you do if money were no object? (hypothetically) How would you really enjoy spending your life? Just what is it that you want to do? Use the answers to set meaningful goals, and steer your reality as close to your dreams as you can. For most of us this involves work and money. How much depends on you, your desires. You have to balance your responsibilities and desires. For me the answer clearly involves free flight, amongst other things. Free flying-soaring like a bird-is simply wonderful. I've not experienced anything quite like it. That's why I've been free flying as much as I can since the early nineties, putting free flight at the heart of my being. This is also why I founded Flybubble with my partner Nancy in the early noughties. I expect free flight will continue to be a central part of my answer for the rest of this life, amongst other things. If after this particular existence the "star stuff" I'm made of happens to be reassembled into another sentient being, I hope it's something wonderful that flies!

Alan Watts has a lot to answer for. When I first heard this speech as part of the ski movie "Days of My Youth" it changed my relationship with life, money and work immediately. It's good to hear it again in the context of my current life and passion to fly. Reminding me I am on the right path and what's important. As they say, nobody's dying wish is that they worked more in life. Really loving the direction you are taking your channel Fly Bubble :)

I would love to live in a tent out in nature, kayaking, parachuting, exploring, etc. I would say money is only important when you need to buy necessities like a coat or food. Money becomes useless when you can find and make those necessities in nature.
