Whatever you are paying AJ, it isn’t enough. I’m only a casual Disney fan, I find myself coming back to DFBGuide again and again, primarily because of AJ. Not only would I listen to her read the phone book, I can hear the smile as she talks about these topics and she just sounds totally honest and trustworthy at the same time. In the vast wasteland of AI voiceovers, she’s a treat to hear.

Our former favourite spot, which is gone now, we used to call the hidden jewel of the Disney Dining Plan, and that was Wofgang Puck's Express. It was counted as a quick service but was mostly treated like a table service with amazing quality food choices for all types of meals. From the corn flake crusted french toast for breakfast to the roast chicken and stone oven pizzas, you could not go wrong.

I was going to do Be Our Guest and Cinderella's Royal Table, but then after looking at the menus I changed my mind, because I'm not a big fan of pre-fixed menus, as not only is it limited, but also the price you pay covers starter, main and dessert, but say I just want to have a main meal and nothing else, I still have to pay for the full menu. So basically, depending on what kind of eater you are, if you eat at a pre-fixed menu place you run the risk of paying for more than what you ordered. Of course, Liberty Tree Tavern is an exception because, not only is the menu all you care to enjoy, but it's also made up of food I know I like

A year in advance for a highly coveted restaurant you really want to eat at isn’t overkill. You can’t go back in time but you can always cancel the reservation if worse comes to worst.

I like how you explained not just what is recommended (or to avoid), but why and to what groups the restaurants may better serve. There are SOOOO many dining options at Disney, this is a great guide for beginners as a "where to start". Even myself, who tries to get there every other year or so (and worked on the college program back in the day), found 2 new ones I want to try now. Yak & Yeti and Acker, aker, AkerBlessYou (whatever it was called.) And since I don't eat meat and have some very picky family members, it makes it a lot better if we get food ideas lined out in advance. And thank goodness you didn't mention Kona Cafe, my favorite breakfast spot for their amazing French Toast! Don't want it to get too crowded!!!

At DisneyWorld, for $90, i expect to KEEP the silver or gold mickey platter itself…. Victoria & Alberts is unique and I understand why it’s there. Overall, the pre-fix at Beast’s Castle is the biggest let down compared to what was offered before. Hollywood and Vine is worth it for the characters. The food is “meh”. Tusker House is a gem - lots of attention from characters. The buffet dining room parade dance occupies the kiddies. The Characters joust and among themselves. Totally worth the experience

FLIES!!! On our last WDW trip, we booked dinner for our large family at a well-loved Chef-named full-service restaurant, but were overwhelmed with flies in the dining room! It was very difficult to enjoy our Southern-style meals even though they were delicious. Hopefully, they have repaired, replaced, or mitigated the pest problem.

Oooo, shots fired at Art Smith! That is a terrible situation though. I would have asked the waitress if she had any citronella candles, and if she said no, I would highly recommend the restaurant stock up on them. I don’t think it’s being a Karen to let a restaurant know when there are problems.

I'm still mad Be Our Guest had the nerve to serve instant mashed potatoes, and not even good ones they were so watery... Am I glad I went? Sure. Do I feel ripped off? Absolutely. And I wasn't even the one who paid so if that were the case I'd probably be singing a different tune.

Just an FYI: You CAN find Rainforest Cafes in other places, such as San Antonio, TX. They're not Disney exclusive, though idk if they are US exclusive or if they can be found in other countries. Don't rely on Rainforest Cafe for dining either; They're honestly rather average regarding food, though it is fun when they have a "thunderstorm" every 30 minutes. :P If anything, it's a neat place if you just wanna try a non-Disney themed experience, but I wouldn't use a trip to Disney World to do this.

My daughter has a nut allergy. We've just let our server know each time and they bring out an allergy menu and it does show the gluten free options. Every restaurant there should have one. Also, if you look up the menus on Disney's website each one has allergy-friendly sections. As for what's good, I really can't help you there, but I hope it's helpful.

The only truly disappointing experiences we've had were at Ohana for dinner and Storybook Dining. Both were related to our server than the rest of the experience. At Storybook Dining out server acted like she didn't wanna be there every time she came to our table and even my kids commented on her attitude. She seemed to be mad because we didn't know what we wanted the first time she came to our table. At Ohana we just never saw our server. We waited a long time for drink refills and food refills.

Disney's food scene can be a rollercoaster of emotions, and my experience at 50's Prime Time Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios was definitely a low point. It felt like I was being gaslit the entire time! But fear not, there are still plenty of great options in Hollywood Studios. Personally, I'd go for the laid-back vibes of ABC Commissary or the fun atmosphere at Backlot Express. Now, onto Epcot! While places like Chefs de France offer an unforgettable experience and Le Cellier Steakhouse is top-notch, they can hit the wallet pretty hard. That's why I've been digging spots like Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, Kingla Bakeri Og Kafe and L'Artisan des Glaces for tasty snacks without breaking the bank. And speaking of L'Artisan des Glaces, let me tell you, it serves the best ice cream in the entire world. When it's time for a drink, Sommerfest/Block&Hans and Choza de Marguerita are where it's at. But for a full-on meal with dessert, Sunshine Seasons is always my first choice. It's got everything you need for a satisfying dining experience.

I'm glad you brought up Satu'li Canteen. It was a really fun experience. I'm sad my family had already left for the day. It was alien in aesthetic but not all that unfamiliar for a cava or general "bowl" lover. I felt like it was the perfect combination of both worlds. I don't eat a ton so Satu'li and a mickey ice cream were a perfect and cheap day of eating for me. For breakfast I'd be happy with a egg and bacon from a cheap diner before arriving. Easily eat under 30 and don't sacrifice the experience. Unfortunately the food in D World has nothing on Tokyo. I ate a Demon Slayer themed Sukiyaki Curry Bowl that was arguably one of my favorite dishes in all of Japan. I was blown away by the quality that Osaka Universal brings to food.

Le Cellier was not a hit for us when we went in 2017. We went because we're Canadian and haven't been there in our past trips. We had a party of 7 (5 adults, a 7 yr/old and a 3 yr old). It really was like the fancy steak houses back home, but we really should have looked up the menu before hand. Most steak houses in Canada (or at least the ones I've been to) have a handful of non steak options and there were limited. Definitely more of a date night vibe. We also had an issue with Be Our Guest in 2022. We were there before in 2015 and it was like a sitdown quick services. You made a reservation and when it was your turn you went to this screen and picked out your meals, then were brought to your table and were served your meal after. We didn't realize it changed to a prefix in 2022 and our group was NOT a fan of prefix menus (because they're essentially all the same if you compare them). Take away is - look at the menus before booking, they are all posted online. And do so for all places you wanna go, even if you've been there before. Both were good food, but just not a good match for our group.

Up until recently, I would have listed OHana dinner as easily one of my top 3 WDW meals....but our last visit last summer was beyond disappointing. We felt like we were getting rushed through the meal from the moment we sat at the table, and the quality of the food was poor compared to before. In particular, the beef that used to be brought to you on skewers, was now just big fatty chunks in a bowl. The meat was terrible and chewy. The noodles were still good, but not as great as before. I literally ordered coffee with my dessert, just to slow things down a bit. Given the price, I am not sure we will go back again....soooooo disappointing! I agree completely on Yak and Yeti....it has become a go to for us for lunch....great selection and super yummy!

I felt the exact same way after my last visit to Ohana. The service was not good, we had to ask multiple times for drink refills and other things, and we felt like we were being rushed through the meal. We’re headed back to WDW in a few weeks and I do have a reservation for Ohana, but we’re not certain we’re going to keep it. Idk. That’s a lot of money to feel like you’re not getting the service, experience, or food that you should.

Sanaa - I am so sick of people recommending this restaurant purely based on "you'll see animals on the Savanah!" No you won't! Unless you request and are willing to wait for a table right against the window. The way the place is setup, even if you're near the window, you won't be able to see the animals from where you're sitting. Wish they had larger windows and raked seating for this. Majority of seating is far from windows and because of the architecture, there are many many blind spots. Just be aware!

Dining preferences are so subjective. I have an EXTREMELY picky eater who won't even eat the pizza or mac n cheese, and who is picky about chicken nuggets. We booked Tusker House based on reviews and people saying there was something for everyone and it was great....we hated it and my husband was the only one who found anything to eat there. We paid so much for that experience and left hungry and frustrated. My advice is look at menus and "doubt" means don't. We looked at the menus and I thought we'd be ok. I wasn't COMPLETELY assured, but it looked like there would be enough that we could make do, and I thought my kids could at least fill up at the dessert station if nothing else. And there was a dining package that offered tickets to the night show when you ate dinner there, so I thought it was an ok option. I should have listened to my gut instinct. If a menu doesn't make you excited and you find yourself saying "That will do" instead of "That sounds so good!" or "My kid would LOVE this!" don't book it. Especially for the buffets and pre-fix menues where you'll have to pay for everyone, regardless of whether or not they actually find something they want to eat. At least with an a-la-carte menu, you only pay for what you order, so if your kid says nothing looks good, you can always stop by a quick service spot and grab a Joffrey's giant donut for them instead after the rest of you have eaten. (Can't count how many times we did this!) But you can't opt out for one person at buffets. So if the menu doesn't excite everyone in your group, you're better off going elsewhere.

Well, I hated Chef Mickey's because the food was awful, and our waiter gave us some of the worst service I've ever received, even from a place like Applebee's. We went in September 2022, so the buffet still wasn't back. The food that was brought to the table was gross. I wanted to just ask for one of the kids' plates, but I couldn't because our server never returned to check on us until he brought our dessert plate and ticket. We never even got a refill. I know he isn't a representation of the restaurant as a whole and the buffet has come back since, but it really put a bad taste in my mouth. Literally and figuratively.

The many ketchup bottles on the table remind me of my family. When someone asked for a kleenex I gave them the whole box

I know y'all love Le Cellier in Canada but they are way too expensive. Better steaks can be found a short walk to the Yachtsman. I swore I would never go back to Le Cellier after 2 successive poor experiences. Shula's is also a good choice over at the Swan and Dolphin. Looking forward to a STK res we have in May.

People don’t have 100s of options. It can be insanely hard to get reservations at a certain restaurant and you are stuck with what ever place has openings. Last time we went to Hollywood studios, we weren’t able to get any reservations at any of the table service restaurants.

Regardless of the atmosphere and meeting the characters Cinderella is not at all worth the money. The food is mediocre at best. It's definitely a one and done thing. It would be different if the experience mirrored something like toppolino's but it doesn't.

Victory and Albert's will never be worth the money. Sorry, not sorry. But if you want to go then go! I haven't eaten there because I don't have the money lol

@alyssamurphy2002 Oh, by all means, if you want to go, then go! I haven't eaten there. I just wouldn't spend that much on food. But if you want to then do it!

If you got a kid, unless they love Beauty and the Beast, Be Our Guest is incredibly not worth it. For one, good luck getting your kid to sit still for an hour or more at DISNEY WORLD. If they are not itching to leave to have more fun anywhere else, well, good for you. Otherwise you are spending $50 for them to eat 2 chicken fingers.

You could have stopped at people hate Disney. Last visit waisted $6,000. Waiting hours in a line that never moved.

Don't apologize for Disney dining prices - they are crazy expensive no matter where you eat! One of the worst things they did was to change the menu prices for lunch - increasing them to be the exact same as the higher dinner prices! Not only are basic menu prices generally higher than a local restaurant of comparable value; when you add tax (6%) and gratuity (for pre fix meals you don't have a choice - 18% is tacked on your bill), suddenly a pre fix dinner at Akershus goes from $67 for adults to around $83! The best thing you can do is look at menu prices of places you think you want to eat at BEFORE you go, and make sure you have an understanding - and a budget - that will bear the cost.

When are you going to review restaurants where adults can have quiet meal without screaming kids and characters sticking their faces in your food!!!!

They give quiet options in this video and talk about places people with kids would hate. Probably start with those.
