See also: Childish Gambino/Donald Glover and Beyoncé. Probably others too who have mega-engaged fandoms. These artists give their fans - even the casual ones - a sense of knowing something ‘outsiders’ don’t, and I’d say that’s a key element of their success. It seems like TS goes above and beyond in rewarding her fans with her actual presence and acknowledgement, but then I hear more about her fan engagement than other artists.

I had no idea that Taylor did all of that stuff for her fans, no wonder people love her so much. She's not JUST a talented, beautiful singer. It kind of reminds me of what Aidan Gallagher (Five - from The Umbrella Academy show on Netflix) does. He started his Patreon and the Tier 3 Discord group because he was getting so many DMs on Instagram from his fans saying that they were lonely and had no friends, so he created it so they could talk to each other and wouldn't feel so lonely. He also holds trivia contest for his tier 3 fans where they can win Zoom calls with him. Granted you have to pay to be on his Patreon, but I feel like it's still thoughtful lol... in case it's not obvious already I'm in his Tier 3 on Patreon lol. Not necessarily because I was lonely but I like him as an actor and support his stand for the environment 😊
