If the game is being played, then what would you rather have people focus on? Is he/she a villain, or what are they changing without anyone noticing because everyone is wondering about that person? What people think about a sigma is not a sigma's concern. Are they going to take my job, are they good or evil, etc.? They can ask themselves those and a billion other unrelated questions to the task at hand. The sigma's goal is to get the task completed as fast as possible and move on to the next task. Those questions' answers can be faked: "Oh, they like me, so they must be good," or "They hate me, so they are evil." See how those questions leave a ton of space and nothing gets done towards a goal. The sigma's mindset is to work together and fix the issues, and then maybe we can go get drinks and relax.

They get validation from within, not externally. They dont need compliments about a brand name shirt or jacket, in fact, they probably wont wear anything with a label on it. They may like quality items that are functionally comfortable, like a good set of boots like dr. Maartens, but they would use a permanent marker to color over the yellow threads.....
