"You often don't appreciate people, until they are no longer around." That can apply to somebody at work, a former friend, a girlfriend, or even a family member (I'm talking about YOU, Aunt I!). And, it's happened with co-workers, too. This IS relevant: I am Japanese-American. I'm male and heterosexual. My race is relevant, because let's face it, most "guys like me" are perceived as nerdy, and not outspoken. And, true to form, I don't usually toot my own horn. When I get betrayed (I'm talking to YOU, Carl), I do not "actively get revenge." I do not do anything outright bad to anybody. Rather, I DISAPPEAR from their lives. I never believed that my presence would mean so much to people, because they sure didn't make it seem like they valued my presence. To my own surprise, I have seen more than my share of people, who seemed STUNG by the fact that I "cut them off." If you don't want a Proud Sigma Male to cut you off, don't stab us in the back!

We can let things slide once because we're naturally forgiving but never twice. If you cross us twice and betray our trust, you are done forever and we will never take you back in. Also, we won't waste precious time, resources and energy on petty battles that doesn't suit our longterm goals. If we don't have anything particular to gain from you by engaging in a fight, we simply won't and preserve our peace of mind instead. We usually only engage in battles we know we can win and when we have something valuable to gain. Otherwise, we would much rather just be left alone and maintain our focus on more important matters. We are actually much more focused on collaborating with the right people to create the best results rather than wasting time on discussions, conflicts and arguments. There is usually never any value in that unless it's work related and we have to figure out the best solutions. A Sigma male will always interfere if the group has come up with the wrong solution that might spell disaster. But generally, we want the group to reach a mutual agreement with minimal effort and discussion that serves everyone's best interest.

A lot of what he says is true about sigmas. But he left out grace and mercy. As long as they aren’t trying to hurt you and are sure of that, the door might be closed but if they knock, why not crack the door open a bit. With a doorstop in place in case they try to open it up more than is safe. 😊
