when a game combine its combat mechanics with choose your own story style game it becomes a masterpiece sadly those games are so rare

Indeed they are. Strongly recommend XCOM, Darkest Dungeon, and some of the Fire Emblem series.

@@larubric like you said plot armor is the biggest immersion breaker you can die 1000 times in 1000 different ways in gta5 and you wouldnt feel anything because you can revive instantly like nothing happened your decisions need real impactful condequence both in terms of story and gameplay to give the tension that makes it fun

I recommend you check out Rimworld, if you haven't already. It's a western/science fiction strategy and organization game, where the permadeath feels really impactful. You basically build up a strong bond with your pawns and at the same time they each are important to keep the colony as a whole alive, so a loss feels like something inside yourself dies. Edit: Especially because death can come from anything, not just combat. Like illness, malnutrition, cold or heat etc. It feels so much harder to watch your favourite person freeze to death than having them die in a valiant defence.

Pretty cool video! Nice to listen to in the background. Also, what's the game that was your bisexual awakening in the intro? I am interested in those wolves.
@larubric2 жыл бұрын
It's a digital boardgame called Armello, created by League of Geeks. The first is Thane, a wolf swordsman, and the second is Magna, a wolf shield maiden. At the age of 16 these two became my downfall.
@royaloreo12752 жыл бұрын
@@larubric Oh, Armello. I added this game to my "will play later" list, that now has prodigious size. Thanks for answering!
