Rivers' season in Indy was necessary in that Colts fans now appreciate him and his trash talk. We hated his mouth, but in one season that hate turned into love. He'll be known as a Charger as he should be, but I won't forget the one year he was a Colt.

Man, he was great. And had probably the most unique throwing style I’ve seen.
@Omar-ni5sf9 ай бұрын
Biggest problem with Rivers was he couldn't throw off platform, like AT ALL. His unconventional (shot-put) throwing motion meant he had to basically have his feet set every time. This limited the playbook as you couldn't use him on rollouts. Opposing defenses knew that they didn't have to sack him, just hurry him, rather than scramble to throw he would often just panic and throw it into coverage. All that said, I still respect him for maximizing his potential, he was excellent at reading coverages, arguably better than Brady, because his skillset demanded that he get the ball out quick. In the end though his limitations were just too much to overcome.
@afterfurtherreview9759 ай бұрын
VERY good point. Thanks for bringing up his mechanics.
@Omar-ni5sf9 ай бұрын
@@afterfurtherreview975 Yeah its a shame because he was a pretty good athlete, especially prior to the ACL. But even if you watch his highlights, he basically never scrambled to THROW unless he knew he could reset his feet, which was rare.

I’m a 27 yr old die hard since 10. The chargers never ever put a good line around Rivers to allow him to thrive out of the shotgun. His best o lines he was a top 5 QB statistically. They missed on Fluker missed on Feeney missed on Lamp. Joe Barksdale was good never great. King Dunlap was the best for his late years. Rivers got pure patch work o lines. Kenny Wiggins & Donovan Clark started on his O line. Those guys literally didn’t make it in the league
