I am sad that a lot of people do not know this, but Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans is actually based on a Famicon only DBZ RPG game. The original OVA was actually suppose to be used as a guide of sorts, giving the players hints and such about what they were actually suppose to do in the game in order to properly beat it and get the True Ending and fight the real final boss.

I like to think that even though the events of the movies aren't canon, the characters still are. Turles, Hatchiyak, Cooler and Lord Slug are probably out there somewhere in U7.

Yeah, I agree, it'd be a waste of cool characters to have them just be noncanon and non-existent. Turles and his crew especially have so much potential given their fairly unique backstories as space mercenaries and how they all came together (look it up, it's pretty interesting)

Been saying it for years! And I’m happy this KZbin series is here to verify!!, the movies are there own timeline/universe and the tv show is it’s own animated verse and most recently the manga is its own story aswell, and the different video games (respectively) all have the same general story with minor tweaks that can make big shifts that keeps everyone on there toes with excitement

The thing that always confused me the most about the DBZ movies before BoG is that so many of them seem to rely on taking place in relation to events from the main series, which they are incompatible with. Basically, the main series exists fine without them, and the movies reference each other on rare occasions so they seem to be canon to each other, but the movies also seem to take place in a timeline in which the main timeline's events still happen, which isn't possible. It creates a conundrum in which the movies should be canon to each other, but cannot be because they rely on events that couldn't have happened in relation to each other. As such, it would be more accurate to say each movie that isn't a direct sequel to the previous takes place in a new timeline in which events are altered somewhat. The Z Fighters have encountered canon and movie villains before in each of these instances, but the events surrounding these encounters must be different for the movie to even be happening.

That’s always been a big part that bugs me. Series makes movies impossible, yet movies acknowledge the series when it’s convenient. They’d have been way better off attempting to stay separate. I fully believe Dead Zone and Raditz are the same day and were setting that up, but they lost their way.

@Crow Rising You probably did not play a lot of the old DBZ videogames then cause there are a few that didn't follow the same path as the anime all the way. In Legends of the Saiyans for the Super NES it starts out the same as the show but characters that died on the show doesn't fully died in the game. In that game characters like Yamcha, Tien, and Chaoizu could be saved and also travel with Krillin, Gohan and Bulma to Namek. Also by completing certain outcome near the end, you may even get to fight Super Vegeta on Namek.

@@VOAN I was referring to my desire for an entirely original storyline, not events turning out slightly different such as characters surviving when they shouldn't or extra fights taking place. I really want the games to invent an entirely new alternative storyline in which they can stretch their creative wings. Perhaps even add in a few new characters and transformations here and there. Think something like what FighterZ, Xenoverse, or Heroes does but starting at the beginning rather than acting as a sort of spinoff sequel.

@@Crow_Rising Who says you can't do your OWN cannon. Example: I have the two Cooler movies taking the place of the Android Saga as an ALTERNATE TIMELINE. I just say Goku came home from Yardrat and decided to go camping. The second movie takes place 3yrs later (No Trunks/Androids) and Vegeta became SSJ while he was searching for Goku in space. Oh! What if Trunks made hair extensions out of his own hair, and takes them out and puts them in as he sees fit. That would explain his vastly different hair styles between films and series and also the ability for the hair extensions to change in color and shape when Trunks goes Super Saiyan.

To be fair i always found wardrobe changes to be the least reliable way to lock out a movie from being canon. In fact we literally see in the cooler movies that some of the character change back and forth between clothing regularily as gohan themselves shows. Clothing and hair to me seems like it can be used as a guide but not neccsarily a lockout except when a character has to have obtained that item. If a character has already obtained the clothing it isnt neccsarily a lockout only a guide

Tbh is a real shame toei didn't Found a way to implement cell in the movie, I can easily imagine him on a supporting role as a reluctant ally to the z warriors in the sense of "The only one who will destroy Goku is me". It would give us a bit more glimpses of how powerful he is as well as hyping the audience even more for the cell games

I love the idea, it'd give us more time with Cell and open for dynamics we couldn't usually see, but there would be difficulties. Having Cell be too strong or too weak could ruin either the movie or the saga. Like if Cell gets beaten by the bad guy and the bad guy then get's beaten by goku it'll make Cell look weaker, or at least like a smaller threat than originally, but if Cell beats the bad guy then it'd end the movie without proper resolve.

@@makairidah8354 That could fix it, but would ultimately feel unsatisfying, as well as (to me at least) it'd put him on picollo level, where yeah he beat the goons, but he still needs goku to kill the big bad. I would probably have him join goku in tag-teaming the bad guy with goku, maybe end it in a double kamehameha or something. Though that would still mean they needed to have a bigger bad guy than Cell, besides at that point he'd steal vegeta's role. Third alternative would be to do like Thor Ragnarok with Surtur, where they summon/trick a series villain at the end to defeat the movie villain, but that would probably work better with buu. Idk, it could be possible to do, but I feel like it would be wonky either way.

They're not all connected. Some of the movies are in their own dimensions. For example fusion reborn and wrath of the dragon. Fusion Reborn is what happened when Gotenks/Gohan killed Kid Buu thus Goku not having a reason to come back and Vegeta staying dead. Wrath Of The Dragon just takes place post Buu Saga.

@@ironrex6979 Bojaks in a dimension where i assume Trunks comes back in the past to continue his training after killing the Androids and Cell, which is plausable. But yeah Wrath Of The Dragon is the only absolute one that makes perfect sense and has no discrepancies with it's timeline etc. Would have to take place after Buu anyway as Gohan has ultimate and Vegeta isn't dead. Another movie that could fit is the Super 13 movie. That could fit nicely if you take it as Piccolo killed Cell, therefore no android absorption and no fights. Z fighters can't find Androids, Androids can't fight Z fighters and they're not gonna just start murdering people so that's when 13 14 and 15 show up in place of 16 17 and 18. Could also be a dimension where Trunks blast on the base killed all them. Who knows lol

If you want even better proof that the movies are their own shared universe, there was a TV special that acted as a clipshow for all of the Dragon Ball movies from Curse of the Blood Rubies to Super Android 13. This OVA basically just adds Broly to the mix.

While these can't happen specifically, I never understood why something like this was never thought of. If King Piccolo, Raditz, Nappa, Frieza, both Cells, etc. teamed up on Goku sometime between Buu and Beerus, I feel like it would be highly difficult for Goku and Vegeta. And even if it wouldn't, it would be a better plan than some of the bullshit Frieza does now. "haha, i will send my soldiers, each with a power level of under 100,000, to fight Goku! surely that will help!"

Just remember that when they are dead, they became much weaker than when are alive. Even if they manage to escape Hell and enter Earth, Goku and the Z Fighters could easily wiped them back to Hell since their pain tainted in Hell are holding them back. Frieza was only stronger in Resurrection of F cause he got revive thus removing the taint and in the Tournament of Power where Whis and the Kais remove the taint so he could fight with his full strength again during the tournament.

Yeah no, cell was still way below ssj2 and ssj2 Goku is way stronger than ssj2 gohan was at the cell games. King piccolo, raditz, Nappa and even frieza wouldn’t be able to put a dent in ssj2 Goku since regular SSj Goku already took out frieza with almost no difficulty.

IMO this was the peak of Dragon ball z animation. It was a good cross of DBZ and DBS animation. i wish they would have kept with this sharp high rez style. It looks soo good. Only issue is the characters are a lil off model. there all sorta slimmer then normal.

If we are talking about the Planet Vegeta that was blown up by Frieza in the series . Then the original natives of Planet Vegeta were the Truffles ( who are surprisingly canon in the DBZ series not counting up to GT's Baby tho).

I never watch plan to eradicate the Sayians and just start this video so I didn't know that the were using the truffles for this as well so I mentioned some stuff without the whole thing. So know that I have the bigger picture. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that the original saiyan planet didn't have back story to it and the saiyan were essentially space pirates going pillaging and conquering planet. The Saiyans arrived on their planet went on a genocide speed run and made that their new home world. I think them sharing the planet is non canon.

It most likely can't, so one had to come from somewhere. Who were the real natives then? How did the non native race come to be there? Either is possible, the Tuffles being scientifically advanced they could've traveled and found planet Vegeta and decided to live there with the primitive native Saiyans, or the Tuffles could've been the natives and the Saiyans came there to conquer after being affiliated with the Frieza Force and decided/made a bargain with Frieza to live there for a better climate/natural resources/bully the Tuffles out of their technology (we know that happened, but not if that's why the Saiyans decided to live there) etc

Yea this movie, and all other movies can’t happen. They are all in weird versions of the time line, making it impossible to happen. The only movies that could some what happen is broly the second coming because it has a placement when gohan grows up and and wayyyy before the buu saga starts. That movie and the wrath of the dragon are the only two movies that can somehow fit without ruinning the canon story. Thais is why those movies will never be canon. Because it’s hell to try and squeeze them in with events of the natural order of things
