My parents bought an iPhone 15 Pro, but they only use it to make calls, use Facebook, watch KZbin, and check stocks. They didn't buy it on EMI because we are financially stable, but everything they do on the ₹140k phone can be done on a ₹30k phone. But there's a "rule" that businesspeople should use the latest iPhones. I use Android because I think it's more sensible, but I'll switch to iOS this year since I'm the only Android user in the family, which messes up connectivity. That's why if one person in the family buys an iPhone, everyone else switches to iOS too.

I used to earn around $8,000 monthly when I was in US. I was using a Samsung phone of around $250 at that time. It never bothered me to upgrade to an iPhone. Moreover, it’s not just me. There are a lot of people who don’t buy expensive phones even when they can afford it in a 5 day salary. Have seen a lot of people like these. Now, due to social media, things have definitely changed. I too use a Samsung S21 nowadays. It’s been almost 3.5 years to my phone. I’m planning to use it for another 3.5 years.
