But I understand that we all live in our own bubble and each YT homepage recommends different content, so I don't judge you opinion.

This is literally gold. I couldn't agree more. I've spent the last 5 years building 3 YT channels and the only videos that have been caught by the algorithm and still have success today are videos where I didn't put any production effort at all, didn't care about thumbnail, just recorded and uploaded. I say as a small creator the best thing I ever did was post my first video! Yes it will probably suck but it's like starting a new job or learning a new skill. POST and learn from your mistakes! Everything takes time to get better. Most channels fail because people give up too easy! This is hard for a reason. There is no such thing as a bad video. I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

I totally agree with the "get started and post and views and subs will come as you get better and improve doing the reps" strategy, but using your own videos as examples of this, and as examples of "bad videos" isn't really relatable or relevant at all given your "unfair advantage" as a known personality going solo ;) The only thing some of these examples show, like the one "without a thumbnail" (as in not making a "proper" thumbnail) is that if you utilize the "unfair advantage" of being a known person in the space you are making videos for thumbnails and to some extent titles doesn't really matter as much anymore for getting a certain amount of views. Having just started properly making videos 6 months ago, a couple of them have reached 6k and 8k views, and I'm closing in on being 1/3 of the way in watch time hours and close to half way in subs for monetiziation - but there is a *clear* difference in views and hours watched between my hardware videos and the "weirder" ones where I build all my studio gear from cardboard and scraps. The hardware videos getting traction from being relevant and have a large potential viewer pool, while the more odd videos I make clearly has a much smaller potential audience. They *all* contribute to the subs and watch time hours of course, some much more than others. But none of them are even close to getting the hours and views and +subs counts of your "bad" videos - which only goes to show that it's not the practice of making bad videos in and of it self that's important, but for growth the topics and contents and substance is key, no matter if the video is bad or not. So this focus on "bad" or not videos is really not helping anything unless it's followed up by an even bigger focus on "make interesting content". The problem is a lot of people seem to parrot this "make bad videos" without including the "with GOOD CONTENT" part, which results in bad videos with bad or no content of value at all, which creates so much noise over time. So *good content* is what will make a small channel grow, regardless of the *production quality* of the videos, not "bad" videos in generall, and this is what often gets lost in these videos :)

Two things one posting on a regular consistent basis and getting better at the craft of KZbin is a very good thing to do for the long term. My videos of a year ago make me cringe. That said my top advice for people who want to start in KZbin is to post, post, post. 2. You posting on a new channel the algorithm already knows who you are because of Google ad sense and your new channel is tied to your old channel so you’re going to get a lot more views because they already know who you are and will automatically give you more impressions leading to more views. That’s why I find this kind of stuff to be disingenuous.

I’ve been here for over 2 years and I’ve only just hit my first 1K subs. I struggle to hit 50-150 views per video usually and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Micro channel here - 2 weeks old and under 30 subs. Views, from the teens to under 40 views per video. I see some channels the same age as mine that have subs in the hundreds - No idea how. And some channels that have been around for years that have 5 subs. Hoping my little channel grows!! My first few videos, I was getting to know the software, getting to know how to relay my message, etc. I want to create short but info packed videos that are not overwhelming. Some videos are way too long with unnecessary filler, and I didn't want mine to be like that.

Also don't let negative comments dissuade you. 12 years ago I had lots of great ideas and fun with making edits to Sopranos tv show, but I got way too much negative feedback and the only two videos people liked were just clips from the show with no edits. So I stopped with Sopranos and ultimately just gave up making anything and found some new thing to pass my free time. That was back then, but now when I look back at those videos there is a new interest in Sopranos, and the community now seem to finally appreciate that I did something different than just upload a clip and feedback is mostly positive. In retrospect, I wish I carried on with my ideas and put out more fun edits.

So i have bad videos 😂 and no subscribers, and I've been doing this on and off then just delete everything out of embarrassment,but i recently realized that if i had been consistent,even if no one was watching, i would have learnt some skills, and this time around i won't delete and i won't stop, for me it's hard to figure out angles and formats, and talking is not my forte,i physically get drained from talking and if i hadn't given up before i think i would have figired out what works for me

The ADHD struggle is real. I’ve started so many channels only to drop them 2 weeks later. Even right now I’m in the hyper fixation phase for a new channel. I’ve done pages and pages of research, niche exploration, thumbnail designs, etc and haven’t posted a single video lol

Yeah tet srick with something you are most passionate about, that toi are doing research tells me it's something that you are maybe not familair with and are trying to choose a niche for the wrong reasons, that you may not naturally be good at, best to go back to or stick with your biggest passion and interest

I think I have ADHD also 😅 I started this channel and it was performing good and somehow I end up switching my focus and creating different channels and focusing on them, just to do something NEW. It's a really bad habit, but at least this time I stayed within KZbin, usually I jump from thing to thing.. Help...
