Ever since the most recent Session update, Players have noticed that it seems like a certain input is no longer working.. the input for Side pops and pressure flips.. but there's a reason for that.

@@dbspaceoditty or maybe the devs shouldn't have forced stick turning to be the only way to use FF/BF. It's a viable control method put in by the Devs themselves, that people used for years before they decided to just change how it works with zero option for the player. It was a knee jerk reaction to people complaining for more accessibility, poorly implemented with little thought for how it would be received by existing players. Even though immediately after they told us in the Discord they got pushback about how it should be optional. Grown ups criticize the things they like in hope they'll improve.

That’s not new. It’s part of the LOADED scenario you set in the map settings. It was added very long ago.

I feel like they broke the skating in general. My character will randomly fall after landing tricks, trying to boardslide a ledge results in a slam half the time, the grinds are floaty now and the skateboard will bounce up landing tricks off of small heights like a 3 stair even when the landing is flat. Also, varial trick speed input is broken. No matter how fast you flick most varial flicks are slow now

Side pop and changing the 90 degree to sliding down more angle of a little bit skating over the pocket to the curb and sames goes for edge style animation.

That's so weird. I cannot for the life of me be consistent with side pops now. I almost always have to press straight down, then slide slightly to the right to get it to register but then the problem is if I don't wait like a solid 1-2 seconds before popping I'll do a shuvit. Pressing 45 degrees left or right it won't even bend my knees to prepare. Got almost everything down but side pops. lmao

Have you noticed anything else with the input preferences? Specifically, I notice FF/BF isn't as accurate as LF/RF for inputs specifically with 180s into grinds. I started to notice a few tricks seem easier to pull off.

That's probably the way True Stance and FF/BF logically conflict. At the end of the day True Stance was designed entirely for fixing issues with LF/RF and applied globally, which introduced fun new inconsistencies with rotating into grinds with FF/BF.

Feels harder to do tre flips for me. Guess I put my foot far in the pocket but it always worked. Now It either just kickflips or doesn't pop high enough and I just fall. Glad to know my controller isn't fucked though.

what's the pocket in the skateboard? noob here. :x to jump i need to press up with the left stick, so to do a pressure move, I need to press down afterwards? I was already a pro on Skater XL, but I'm struggling so much in session lol it's way difficult... But it seems better too.

Pocket is the side of the nose or tail. To do a pressure flip trick, you push your back foot stick Diagonally down ↙️or↘️ instead of straight down to set up your foot to the side. Then instead of flicking front foot up, you flick front foot Down

It doesn't feel broken, it is broken for the longest time. Did they fix the diagonal deadzone? Also this feature without being able to seamlessly transition from one stance to another is really annoying. Like you should be able to, like in real life, put your feet on different parts of the board and adjust if needed. The way it is now, if you input let's say an 80% sideways pop but think it's too much and want to adjust it to 60% side pop you can't.

If you’re doing Willy grinds, it’s because you are holding both inputs instead of just one (front foot stick). Animations haven’t changed, neither have grind inputs

@JL Nightmare Animations have absolutely changed. There's more glitch animation fuck ups when doing certain shit than before they fixed their ugly ass impossible. Pre update I would never go to boardslide a ledge and get shot 20ft into the air. Boardslides wouldn't animate ankles that bend in unrealistic ways causing more falls when dead center of the board on a slide. There's more dead stops when trying grinds on ledges than before (carrying speed hit the ledge at an angle and dead stop). There's definitely been changes. Maybe not on PC but the game sucks on console worse than before

You might not be flicking straight down. A diagonal flick will make your board flip normally even after you set your foot in the pocket, so make sure you’re flicking front foot straight down. If you’re using Small Input for scoop, change it to Normal, Small has some issues.

Because you are catching too late. A late catch auto flips an extra flip for some reason. Catch a bit earlier

Yeah the devs made them more noticeable… the only way to turn it off is to go to skater logs and untrack the mission you’re on so you don’t see it (mission will still complete if you do the tricks)

Diagonal input should put foot in pocket. If you’re not popping to the side, make sure Board Control is set to manual

They changed it because of the new Left stick turning for Front Foot Back foot controls. It’s also possible they changed it to help make Powerslide input more consistent

"Nice" to see that I am not the only one that has totally broken screen space reflections in this game... Look at the windows in this far away building reacting to the movement of your player: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZPQopScnKeEnac They never fixed the totally broken ghosting TAA (by for example implementing DLSS and FSR2 considering they are using UE4 which makes those tasks easy...). Animations are still bad overall and according to their website they aren't even looking for an animator anymore. But yeah, lets change up the controls for no reason and add stick turning as a default for front/back scheme instead of making it an option...for reasons. I still enjoy the game overall, but gonna keep my negative Steam review until the developer starts to take player feedback (including that outside of their little subreddit) serious.

It’s most likely just skater physical animation causing your issue, I just always include Big Drop Landing just in case someone has it enabled (it also causes random falling issues)

Oh, that’s was an accidental mission for Chris Cole in Philly.. that was never meant to be in the game yet. It was on the first Pc update but was taken out in a patch. The console version never had that mistake so you can’t play it

Anyone have a problem with regular nollie heels constantly trying to rocket flip and being more difficult to catch than any other flip? I can switch flip just fine (flick on the same stick) but nollie heel always rockets and I can’t figure it out, same problem on my old controller and a fresh controller out of the box yesterday

@@JLNightmare yes, switch flip would be the same stick flicking the same direction and I have zero issue, only nollie heel, it’s very odd and I just noticed it recently. I can only get it to flick properly maybe 1/5-10 tries. I play a lot of session and it’s to the point where I believe there is an issue that isn’t my fault, I spent a good thirty minutes last night trying different flick directions and I’m stumped

A pressure flip is like an inward heelflip but with back foot. To do this in game, for regular stance) set back foot diagonally right, scoop down then flick front foot down.

Scoop your back foot like you’re doing a 360 flip BUT instead of flicking front foot to the side, You’ll flick Down. So back foot Scoop left to the top (if regular, scoop right and to the top if Goofy) then flick front foot Down

You can untrack your missions in the Skater logs and that will disable Left click for menu. However you won’t see the mission waypoint or the squiggly lines But the missions will still work when you interact / complete tasks

The whole game is broken. Skateboarding is all about freedom and creativity, yet for some reason creature has taken most of that out now. I'm over session now, I'll stay subbed to you and watch for updates but I doubt I'll be playing it again.

Yes it does. Don’t push stick straight to the side. Back foot (right stick) will be diagonally down to setup in the pocket, then flick Front foot (left stick) straight down
