@@bitconemaxi151 was very easily obtainable over the last year though …? There were booster bundles in target at msrp all the time, and mew UPCs at Costco for 90 bucks for months. It’s only in the last few months the that it dried up. But all this year it was all over the place. Just wasn’t the newest hottest thing.

If you pay over retail to scalpers for product you want then you are as much of a problem as the scalpers themselves. This market wouldn't exist if people didn't pay it. If you want to pay it then go for it but if you do, you have 0 right to complain about scalpers.

As someone that’s new to the hobby, it’s hard. This is something that interests me and it’s something I can do with my family that’s fun. And it’s hard to see new sets coming out that we would all like to open but our chances of getting them are low. I only learned about 151 a couple months ago and I got really excited to start collecting it and then I got really frustrated really fast.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get some preorders of some products from target and PC, but given that there is a 9 month releasing period for this set, I'm hoping that everyone is able to get product to open or display. Unfortunately, this craze and hype that pokemon has again makes "investors" buyout these products to just sit and hold on to them... I hope that pokemon is able to reprint this set, and hope that everyone is able to get some product! Love the vids Jake!, keep it up!

I know I heard someone say they'll be printing this all of 2025. Everyone panicked about Shining Fates, now you can't get rid of that set. I drove two towns over to get one ETB of Champion's Path for my kids, then it was available for so long people were sick of seeing it. If I were empty handed right now, I would wait to let the hype die down. Even Hidden Fates was readily available for over a year. Just be patient.

I don’t think you understand prices. If an item is over priced, it would still be in stock. Over priced means priced higher than people are willing to pay for it… If it’s selling out instantly, the only possible explanation is that it’s under priced.

10:07 151 elite trainer boxes didn’t sell out on release, at least online anyway. They were consistently retail price. What sold out was the booster bundles…

There are cards at good prices out there if you can resist FOMOing over Sparks and Evolution. I just picked up a load of S&V base and Paradox Rift at 50% off. And just got some more cards graded and waiting for them to arrive. I'm even looking at getting in on some One Piece. You can enjoy this hobby without giving in to these ridiculous prices.

I'm curious to see what the value of a sealed case of PC ETBs goes for. They limited it to 2 per person so early on so I think sealed cases will be extremely rare. Should be interesting

I will say it’s funny how every time now a set has low availability VV is brought up. That being said, yeah, just be patient, prismatic evo will be available for a good while, at the very least until we get reprints/promos of the new cards. Would be p dumb if the set had new cards with their own potential decks and they kept it limited on release.

Imo the eeveelutions are better fullarts. Not impressiv alt arts. (But funny they put the most effort in umbreon ;) ) A total Cheerleader effekt just because all are in one set. So people calm down, don't fomo and wait and see, we will all get our hands at least on single cards. And these were always the cheapest way.

I had a question: were sets always this frequent in past eras or is it just because of the hype and the social media trends? We used to have 4 sets a year, then it went to 5. Now it's currently 6 sets a year (4 main sets and 2 special sets.

Pokémon has had essentially the same release schedule for more than the past decade. It’s definitely not a couple weeks, typically a couple months minimum. Particularly for main sets, it was almost four months between twilight masquerade and stellar crown. What you’re probably experiencing is the overlap of set reveals between Japanese and English as well as the actual release of whatever the current set is.

Always get at least 1 PC ETB if you see it. You can always cancel you PC pre-order without penalty. With this PC ETB craze since the beginning of the S&V set, just do it. Like PC won't give you a dumb restocking stocking fee, so why not do it just to be safe. Now if you missed, then that's another story.

Oops, I FOMO'd and pre-order 4 cases of ETBs. I'm joking on the FOMOing and I didn't pay the scalper's price. This is how much I usually pre-order every set and I got lucky that I was snooping online when pre-order were released. I don't invest or resale. Jeez, things sure got really dumb quick.

for me, the investors and scalers are getting a bit out of hand, for SS and soon for primatic in my humble opinion, this current generation of pokemon fans who want to get into the cards will only remember the poke investors, scalping, and just really insane prices (this is not a good place for pokemon to be if nobody in the future will have a happy memory of cards) Besides me, a bunch of younger players at card stores won't think much of Surging Sparks (its been hype and chasing a pikachu, not sure what else people want in that set tbh) or 151 when it first came out (heck they didn't even bother going back to 151 after the cheap UPCs came back in stock, that's because they never looked back to it considering that their only exposure to old school pokemon was met with investors or scalpers buying out everything (i'm beginning to feel the same way, the only 151 product I bought was the UPC in costco, and 151 japanese after it tanked)
