One thing I appriciate about busy works beats is the great deal of focus on foundations. as a new producer/beat maker I made a mistake of wanting my beats to be fire right away. I skimmed through a lot of shit that would have made me a better producer by now, like building a solid foundation and developing my own sound based on your teachings.

He's argument that chord codes should be used at all is wrong. I mean, shouldn't be surprising since he literally made it up. When the average person sits down and writes music, they use a scale. So when we count intervals, we number them according to scale degrees, not semitones. And then we number chords the same way, because they're built using intervals. Chord codes is simpler, but it still takes a lot of effort converting between that and the real numbers, and it lacks the context of the music itself. The point is that we're thinking in scale degrees so we can navigate this musical system. Learning chord codes is just going to make the real music stuff harder because you have to unlearn nonsense. Also, his argument about needing to count in Serum, if you know what intervals sound like, there's no need to count anything. Other thing, he puts a lot of emphasis on making it easy for beginners to learn chords, while simultaneous saying beginners need to start with the basics. Interval and scale come before harmony. Harmony isn't super basic. Say, I can construct the minor 9 chord like he said. Now what? Spam random chords from his chord codes chart and pray? Without understanding scale and functional harmony, and even musical vocabulary from whatever genre, you're not going to make a convincing chord progression. This mentality that things should be easy is bad, because the way he's doing it is by literally removing teaching things, and teaching them in the right order. It's just KZbin clickbait slop.

I think you are MUCHHHH more of a net positive, I’d say the main reason that other producers actually have a negative perception of you is because of your personality. I don’t mind your personality because I’m similar and it tends to be misunderstood. Specific traits like your calmness, vocabulary, and ability to construct an argument get perceived as pompous arrogance, superiority complex, and manipulation. When in reality alot of it boils down to a misunderstanding. Also, I’m not sure what the difference is between you “manipulating” and someone else insulting you and being aggressive. It seems equal to me so I don’t know how you would be considered worse in that aspect. But it is hilarious when you decide to troll with calmness 🤣

There are tutorials out there that teaches producing, etc, in easier fashion with less musical language regards to theory. Go and watch that, then when ready to know a bit more, watch tutorials like this that where he uses more musical theory language. For me, where Im at, this is also sometimes above my head. But it is nice to enlarge your knowledge sometimes with extra theory. It can not harm to know more only harms if you know less.

Busy I honestly think if anyone is saying anything negative to you it is because you show up authentically online and are very knowledgeable which makes people feel intimidated by you. I've been watching your channel ever since I began learning how to produce music myself. In fact you are the first channel I learned from and the only channel that I constantly come back to in order to learn more regardless of how many years I've been learning myself. I think your ability to teach people shows that you are kind as you share your knowledge with the world even when you don't have to. It speaks volumes! In addition you always call out bull **** and always stand for the truth which is something that we as a community cherish. One thing that comes to mind was the Beatclub situation, but it goes to show that not all who are at the top of the industry are looking out for other fellow producers. But what you say with music theory, you can learn all of that as a producer, but personally I believe music theory will never beat creativity or pure emotion in the moment of creation. With the time I've been producing, all the information I learned about music theory doesn't necessarily apply when it comes to my sessions. It's a flow state and I feel that is way more powerful than anything else, but of course that comes when your technique is up to par and you are able to navigate the DAW like a pro. Keep doing you and don't let mean people get to you!

I disagree. I am not a competitor but a customer of yours. I think the problem is that you are college educated to an art the originated off of feeling and sampling from people who didn't who most likely didn't go to college. I think you are trying to out perform or out think the art instead embracing it and adding to it. You treat and speak to your audience and other producers like you just came out of a business school. We are customers, competitors, data and statistics . You have to embrace the human aspect as well because the things you say or due appear disrespectful. I feel like at times you are too much text book or artificial intelligent to communicate properly with your audience and other producers. Humble yourself a bit use the textbook as a guideline, not your front line. Last but not least HipHop is also built on respect. You frequently do or say things that trigger men to be disrespectful towards you.

@@Charles13Xyou’re wrong, you have no context to say he’s projecting or isn’t. You would have to know this persons entire background in order to prescribe him to be projecting. Saying a person whom you don’t know is projecting with no ability to find their history (posts/videos/interviews) is sheer conjecture. This means you want to discredit the individual without actually engaging with the criticism.

You good big dog. You’re doing something good and the darkness won’t ever overpower the light that music brings into our life. The reason why they hate you is simple. Their ego is in control of them. I think you need to stop letting it get to you. I don’t think it’s personal bro, honestly. People just want to meme on whatever they think is in. You wouldn’t even have to address it if you just act like it doesn’t exist. Stay true to yourself. Don’t let the idea that only a few people have of you taint how you carry yourself. You’re not doing anything wrong except letting the negativity get to you.
@louiewgroenewald5 күн бұрын
Agree. Most negative comments towards anybody are either because they are jealous and feel consciously or subconsciously bad or sad they have not started anything in their live yet. Or They are trying to pull people/subscribers away from a channel towards their channel. Why would people watch a video that teaches something for mostly beginners and people in general who want to learn. Just to comment that the person in video does not do it right or you should try this technique that is better, or why not try this or that. If they know their so much already, why not go and create and get busy rather than watching KZbin tutorials to be a know it all or negative. Thanks for your videos and effort in it all. Merry 🎄
