During one of the dream sequences in BtS when you reach out to hold your hand out and press it against Rachel's against the car window her hand is wreathed in fire. I'm convinced that Rachel is connected to fire and possibly the storm thanks to your video :). One of the books you can find on the shelves of Samuel's maintenance room is called "Corvus Ignisque" "Raven and Fire" , I'm pretty sure this refers to Rachel and/ Rachel and Chloe :)

I think there is an important aspect a lot of people missed. There is a duality to Rachel Amber...On the one had she's very intense in the way she cares about the people that she loves, but on the other hand she has an uncontrollable rage that can quickly cause a lot of chaos around her. I'm not referring only to the fire she starts but the way she just loses her shit and attacks Damon in the junkyard with no regard for the consequences and pretty much every other instance when she's angry. The fact that Arcadia Bay has caused her so much pain and ultimately took her life, when her body dies, her rage takes the shape of the tornado. But her loving side takes the shape of the doe and chooses Max to release Chloe(the only one who never lied or betrayed her) from her grief by guiding them towards the truth. I believe Max's rewind power is a manifestation of Rachel's wish that she could turn back time and maybe leave Arcadia with Chloe sooner like they always planned. But since she's dead, Max is the only one that cares for Chloe as much as Rachel herself did. I find it bittersweet to think that even in death Rachel could not control her rage(the storm) but that a part of her still did everything she could to save her beloved Chloe.

I thought the Doe was Rachel as well but the game seems to want to tell us with Samuel is that the doe is Max's spirit animal, guiding her, so if you think about it that way the storm could be Rachel's anger and the rewind being the feelings of hopes and dreams of Chloe and Rachel and the will to survive and carry on, and the doe the spirit animal helping Chloe, I do like your take on it though, I just think maybe the two sides of Rachel throughout it, anger and then sadness and regret, the feeling of wanting to go back that's one half and then the doe and and Max's spiritual journey being the other half, and stuff.. if that makes sense...

She gets a red dragon tattoo on her right leg - that same leg that kicks the trash can spreading the fire; and most importantly if you talk to Samuel Taylor (the janitor) in LIS: BTS he will say Rachel is a "dragon made of diamonds".

I got something on my mind... About Max’s powers and Rachel Amber. It causes goosebumps. So. Maybe Rachel is something like mother nature, or have spiritual powers - we know that from theories because of wind when she kicked that bin. And when she is in hospital in Before The storm, firefighters talking about fire extinguish itself. She’s probably the storm or something what Rachel did summon. She’s maybe that doe in LiS 1... Is is possible that Rachel Amber gave Max Caulfield time rewind powers? When you are on junkyard in LiS 1, you can see doe there. When you use Max’s rewind, you found out that powers don’t work on that doe. And Max is suprised. Maybe Rachel is controlling fate of Arcadia Bay for all the time. And bonus is that Rachel is in Before The Storm obsessed with stars and nature.

In light of the current plot in the comics, i think were going to learn the real reason for storm, being Rachel. Especially because of the ending of issue #4. I just wonder what Max’s character will do discovering that knowledge. We already know that before her death there was a photo of her conveying intense anger moments before her demise. Perhaps the intense anger and sadness she felt before her demise is what brought upon the storm. Although, being how the fire stopped instantly when she fell unconscious, i don’t see how the storm would continue after her demise, especially after all that time passed. The only thing i can think of is that for whatever reason she was actually alive in some way? Or her spirit just lingers in Arcadia Bay? She does have a temper, if anyones anger and frustration is going to transcend beyond death it would be hers, maybe even time. Also keep mind it doesn’t seem like she does these things consciously, so the storm might have just been a unfortunate result of Rachel existing, which is sad, especially since if she ever learned of her ability, it wouldn’t be anything more than a curse. Anyways, if you read this far, hope that made sense, big fan of the series, looking forward to how dontnod brings this all together. Enjoyed the video/theory Hope the devs address all these events some day.

Hi , I just ended the game and I saw your 2 videos about the theory of rachel = the storm and I found it so interresting , this theory gave me another way to read the game and I like it , so thank you for your work :D I just wanted to add something , in the game , the symbol of the raven is very often used: we can see this animal all along the game during multiple scenes; during the representation of The Tempest , Chloe is disguised in some kind of bird looking like a raven and, the biggest thing that made me react is the sign that we can find close to the Raven totem in the belvedere sequence , on this sign we can see "The raven stands for transformation" and in the last scene of the game we can see Rachel and Chloe , near to the lighthouse of arcadia bay ( wich is the same place of the end of the 1 game, where we see the storm at is biggest ) , with a raven behind them ( in the foreground ) and then fly away to the horizon in the exact same direction that where the storm is at the end of the first game. So , this raven could be the symbol or a clue of the future transformation of rachel into the storm and, I could add that chloe helped rachel to achieve this transformation because chloe is here when we see the first sign of Rachel's storm ( when Rachel burn the forest , this would never happend if chloe was not here ) and the scene of the play , when we can feel is a big connection bewteen Rachel and Chloe , as I said , Chloe is dressed like a raven so I think that Chloe is the trigger of the "power" of Rachel and the person who help her to evolve . Totally agree. But idk, this theory sounds so common on the most of theories used to describe Rachel's existence on the first LiS Game. Im just hating Frank, Jefferson and Nathan of using Rachel like she was a fucking object of enterteiment (We also knew that Rachel was dating with Frank in some parts of her disappearance since 3 years and Frank really thought that Rachel loves him, when this isnt real at all, as we can see that she probably just "loved" him only because drugs, so i dont blame Frank for being a cause of her disappearance). I only wish Rachel wasnt dead... Those games, both of them, made me cry a fucking lot, and this is why i will play them over and over again. It makes me feel like i can find someone that, when i see her, i'll now that person is for me.

Interesting point about the fire requiring Chloe and this symbolising their close connection. Rachel does say "Can I borrow your lighter ?" and this literally provides the spark for the Arcadia Bay fire. Also really like your theory about Chloe assisting with Rachel's transformation as a raven and this being reflected in the play. It's true Chloe's the only one that supports Rachel at those times (just before the fire, later with the therapy session and the scene where they curl up on Rachel's bed) and helps her consider things in a new perspective (also crucially at the end of course if you choose the likeliest/best option IMO "Tell Rachel everything")

@@Mizra-dq3lj I'm not sure there's a real ending , it depends on the choices you make but the ending that makes the most sense to me is telling Rachel the truth and convincing her mother to meet her (which is possible depending on how the dialogue goes when you meet her,having Rachel's bracelet helps but is not required , I think the kiss is probably the most fitting choice if you see Rachel and Chloe as a couple) . If you do that then you see a scene where Rachel's parents have an argument and her father cracks a family portrait symbolizing IMO Rachel becoming estranged from her father and maybe her parents divorcing then a montage of Rachel and Chloe going on a road trip together and spending time with each other,eventually meeting Sierra by the lighthouse. To me that's the most satisfying ending since it shows that Rachel and Chloe can depend on each other and that Chloe doesn't lie to Rachel unlike Rachel's father. I also felt it was important to give Sierra a second chance with Rachel since she's kicked her drug addiction and turned her life around,not to mention Rachel really wanted and IMO needed to see her to be able to choose in good faith and know the whole of her story. I like to believe Rachel and Chloe stayed together and that the events of LiS didn't happen but that they instead lived the way they planned to in the street scene after the play. But I can see how the other choice makes sense too in a way,that's the beauty and depth of the game's writing and its characters :). If you feel invested in the story and characters then your Chloe's your own creation and reflects your own experiences and beliefs about love,authority,parenting,adoption,truth,friendship etc. I think the game is brilliant at making you consider these issues and it could be a great tool for teaching students about philosophy,anthropology of the family and parenting and sociology :).

I find this very likely because Chole was always there for Rachel in BTS so it would make perfect sense if she wanted her to be with her in death, and it kinda explains why she was watching over her I think she was jealous and kept throwing chances for her to die but once they went on the hunt for her body and where she was, it stopped and when they found it Chole got shot and killed and therefore reunited with Rachel once she found peace and if you choose to save Chole the whole town is wiped and Rachel isn’t happy without Chole but if you sacrifice her everyone’s at peace and the town is fine and Chole comes back as a spirit animal aka the butterfly

I think Rachel actually just wants revenge on a town she hated, and wanted Chloe to move on with Max. Max could save Chloe and find Rachel's body thanks to her power, bringing closure to Chloe, which was i think Rachel's plan ( i think Max powers come from her ). Why would Max have visions of the lighthouse, the only safe place in the Bay from the tornado if she and Chloe weren't supposed to be here to be safe from it, Rachel knew that Max would do everything to stay with Chloe and not abandon her and she give them an escape from her wrath. Atleast i think this is what is happening and that Max being responsible is utter bullshit.

we don't know why Rachel's mother got self-destructive, maybe it's because she had this power and didn't wanted her child to be just like her? Rachel got her powers through her mother, meaning storm can be caused by both (mother and daughter, but also it could be just Rachel), or maybe Rachel's death triggered it in her mother and caused storm or something. Also, Raven in Native American Culture is link between life and death, it's possible that Chloe is Raven, or it's just symbolic.

IM GOING TO CONVINCE YOU THAT THE STORM WAS RACHELS REVENGE, AND THAT IT WAS INEVITABLE AND THAT SACRIFICING ARCADIA BAY WAS THE BETTER OPTION. 🌪 Starting with the fact that Rachel very obviously had rewind powers, this is proven in the train ride with Chloe when they skip school, shortly before rachel responds she holds up her hand in the same exact way Max does before she rewinds time, this is 100% why Rachel knew what Chloe was going to answer with.. whether or not you choose to bend the rules, “three lies no truth, three truths no lie, two lies and one truth etc” no matter what Rachel will know because she rewinds to gather all the info. This is also obviously proven by her ability to work with elements, her kicking the trash can into the massive oak tree and then screaming and setting it ablaze.. this is HUGELY symbolic of her attempt to take revenge on Arcadia Bay even whilst she was still alive, she does this because shes hurt her father hasnt been honest with her and feels like her life in Arcadia has always been fake and a lie. when Rachel is stabbed by Damon and is taken to the hospital, two firemen can be found sitting within the same hallway, if you eavesdrop their conversation they mention that out of no where the ENTIRE fire just simply diminishes all at once, this is because Rachel nearly loses her life. When you go with Rachel to her home and have dinner and have that argument with Rachels father.. when the camera pans over to Rachel just fuming with rage as the tension builds.. pay close attention to how the lit candles around her on the table begin to violently flicker as she gets more angry with her father. The spectral deer IS rachels spirit and is her attempt to try and guide max to her body and solving the mystery as to why she had gone missing. This is also proven in multiple instances.. one? when Chloe and Max go to the junkyard the deer(rachel) can be found standing on the exact spot where Rachel herself was buried, another example is when Chloe eventually discovers Rachels resting place and the deer can be seen hanging her head in sadness to the sound of Chloes cries.. and lastly when Max is stuck in a very grim purgatory like nightmarish reality.. in the scene where max leaves jefferson’s classrom and the entire hallway and its students are all “reversed” the deer can be found standing in the middle section of the hallway and leads max into the bathroom where max originally gained her powers. Now… Lets move onto these visions Max has in the beginning of the game.. In the first instance of the game beginning it places you in the middle of a heavy storm on a forest type trail on the way up to the lighthouse.. it’s there that max understands theres a storm coming however.. she gets this same vision more then once and in one of these instances the deer can be found leading max up towards the lighthouse.. leading max to the piece of paper showing the date of which the storm is meant to occur. this is genuinely rachel saying “I’m about to blow this sh*thole, GET CHLOE OUT OF HERE!” In before the storm Chloe tells rachel about max.. about how max was her bestfriend for years.. and even though theyre apart chloe still clearly loves max very dearly.. Rachel KNOWS that max is THE ONLY person with a bond as strong as the one Rachel and Chloe once held together, this is why Rachel chose max.. I genuinely believe rachel passed down her powers to max in order to save chloe from the same fate she went through in regards to the prescotts, let me put this into perspective.. who basically owned the entire town? “the prescotts” and who took rachels life? “nathan prescott” and who was the one who shot chloe killing her in the girls bathroom of blackwell? “Nathan prescott” Maxes job was NOT to prevent that storm.. it was to save chloe from the same fate rachel went through, thats why rachel passed on her powers to max, she intended for max to stop at nothing to save Chloe.. now.. allow me to remind you of certain instances that put this puzzle together. In the alternate reality where Chloe is wheelchair bound.. Max NEVER uses her powers, and mentions that she refuses to do so as she fears shes screwing up all these different realities which is the words she speaks later in the game when attempting to convince chloe not to go into the “end of the world” party as max now knows Chloe will die if she goes in there to look for nathan. So.. we’ve established that she doesn’t use her powers in this alt reality, so theres no byproduct of her previous actions in the “OTHER” reality where max is apart of the vortex club, keeping this in mind, theres still MAJOR symptoms of a storm being present even within a reality where she doesnt mess with time itself.. so whats the deal? whats the key factor? one word… “RACHEL” as rachel is STILL missing in this alternate reality. The storm IS Rachels revenge on Arcadia Bay for never allowing her to leave and fulfil her true dreams as a young aspiring women. That storm is MOST CERTAINLY Rachels revenge.. the storm is inevitable.. not convinced? lets go back to the spectral deer subject, in the instance where the deer leads max up to the lighthouse, this was to warn and show max exactly when the storm was to occur the deer ends up stopping at the same spot where Chloe and Max make their final decision and that’s not meant to be seen as “Hey look theres a storm coming” because thats a vision that happens long after the very first vision that max gets in the beginning of the game when you start up the game the very first vision is max figuring out that it’s going to happen so she already knows that it’s going to happen in the later vision where the deer is present it’s trying to tell max something she doesn’t already know.. and that deer is rachel and she’s trying to tell her “Hey this is my revenge and this is when its happening and you need to make sure Chloe gets the hell out of there because im destroying this town for the ways it once destroyed me and my hopes and dreams” in the instance where max gets her rewind powers it was RACHEL who gifted her this new profound strength Max just so happens to be the ONLY person rachel can get through too, because Rachel died so devastatingly her spirit was trying to guide Chloe in finding her body, max ends up being the person rachel can get through to in order to be able to communicate with Chloe and try to protect her, in MANY ways Rachel lives vicariously through max as max is chloes only friend and is the only one with a similar bond to what rachel and chloe had.. a strong GENUINE bond and rachel knew that if anyone could get through to chloe.. it was MAX. so.. when max sees chloe get shot and is able to rewind thats basically rachel bestowing her gift of power to max in order to save chloes life from being taken by Nathan.. which was the SAME person who killed rachel, Rachel gave max her powers solely so she could protect chloe and see chloe live and fulfil the dreams she never was given the chance too.. they were gonna pack up and just drive out of town and never look back.. the ending when you choose to sacrifice the town? is rather symbolic of the fact that it’s what rachel would of wanted them to do.. to drop a bomb on the bast*rds that killed her, not only that but to see chloe ALIVE and thriving.. and finally driving the hell out of arcadia.. finally on the road and fulfilling her dreams as both Chloe and Rachel originally had planned to runaway from Arcadia and when rachel was killed it ruined her plans to travel the world with Chloe, i genuinely feel that its incredibly symbolic that both max and chloe drive away in the way that they do.. the entire world at their feet.. no one to stop them, just them two against the world and THATS the connection rachel had with Chloe and its what she REALLY wanted. The storm was Rachels revenge, and it was never maxes job to save the town.. her job was to protect and save Chloe to be with them in spirit and guide them towards the dream rachel was once chasing she never got that chance with chloe.. but she got the chance to ensure chloes happiness through max, and i hope this changes your opinion of that ending.. beacuse it really is so beautiful. ❤️

The editing and the music fading in before the actual scene starts, nice job! No idea how I hadn't come across your channel before. I wished BtS (and LiS1) were longer, there were so many unexplained points and questions left open. In the first episode of BtS I noticed the first time that the wind blowing every time Rachel would scream was Intentional and meant something - yet, the game failed so badly to explore it at all. It was a great story very poorly performed and rushed by the Devs.

When Max and Chloe go up near Light house chloe will tell this "This pit has taken away all of my loved ones and she also tells Max put a bomb in Arcadia bay and take glass out of it" As soon as Chloe tells destroy Arcadia bay you will be teleported into your nightmare of that Tornado destroying the town So it's 100 percentage damn sure that Rachel is the cause of that Tornado and Rachel is the doe That butterfly 🦋 is Chloe That butterfly entered inside girl's bathroom because Chloe was about to die so it came there but unfortunately max saves her and you can see that butterfly in Chloe's grave too....
