Real Madrid have some of the most talented midfielders in the world (Jude Bellingham Eduardo Camavinga Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchuoameni), but they have to get used to playing without Toni Kroos next season because in his own way he’s irreplaceable he’s just that good. They’ll probably use a 4-3-3 formation with a midfield of Bellingham Tchuoameni and Valverde and while on paper that’s still a very good midfield, Kroos’ presence will be missed at Real Madrid. The reason for that is because none of the midfielders on that team can do what he does particularly when it comes to his passing range and the way that they dictate the tempo of a game and keep possession for 90 minutes. When they’re playing against low blocks teams that sit deep when defending against them that’s when his absence will be felt as he’s the only one on that team who can play a through ball in difficult circumstances. We’ll see less goals from Bellingham in a much more midfield role, he suits the number 8 role well and he alongside other midfielders like Camavinga Tchouameni and Valverde have different profiles than Kroos and we have to remember that. Luka Modric is staying at the club next season, but he’s not expected to play a lot as most of his appearances this season came off the bench. Assuming Modric goes now that Kroos won’t be there anymore, I think that Real Madrid will probably sign Florian Wirtz the following summer and an ideal midfield of Wirtz Camavinga Bellingham Tchouameni and Valverde makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, Jude’s going to lose out on goals next season there’s no doubt, but if he becomes a more impressive midfielder imo he’ll be considered even greater. To be able to control all aspects of the game is something only a few players can do at a high level. Kroos was one of those guys.

It's gonna be a difficult task to replace him, and we'll never be able to replace Toni Kroos, the personality. For me, the greatest 3 modern midfielders are Modric, Kroos and Iniesta, and Kroos has always been the underrated goat for me as he controls the game like a true leader with no nonsense, it's just too hard to replace him.

Valverde is world class. Arguably the best in the world. Obviously a different type of player than Kroos, but between him and Jude, with Tchouameni, that’s a rock solid trio with Camavinga and Arda Guler in reserve.

I mean they’ll struggle more without him obviously, but all things considered their current midfield is still arguably the best in the world. And with gaining Mbappe who in my opinion is the best player in the world for the majority of each season, and vini who’ll be the best player in the world when Mbappe has a bad month. It’s hard to even consider what they’ll do as struggling. It’ll probably be the smallest bump in the road. Also people said that they’d struggle without Ronaldo, benzema, casamiero, Ramos, etc. but it didn’t matter, they still win league titles and ucl’s without them. They’re never reliant on any of their players to be successful, something 90% of clubs can’t do.

Oh man I hate doing debates and comparisons of players lol especially midfielders. I mean I would say Xavi might be better all time. Not by a crazy amount though. If Germany won euros and Madrid win CL I could see kroos having a shot at winning the ballon dor. Kinda similar situation when Modric won his but he was in WC final. So I guess we will see
